Hmmm, that map from FoxNew is interesting. Though it is from 2009 and there is no context to indicate whether it was shown once or multiple time (my guess is once).
Now if MSNBC pundit Chris Matthews can place the Panama Canal in the Middle East (January 2011) and not admit to his error, I think this graphic (probablly made by an intern) that is 2 years old gets a pass.
Seriously? Fox doesn't even know where it is? I mean, it's Egypt. Look for where the really big river hits the REALLY big inland sea. How hard is that?
I'd recommend Rocketboom begins putting up the sources where they get their information. I have yet to find one trusted news source that supports the claim that there are cables that say the U.S. helped the rebellion.
@conglomerate8 Did what happen on Glenn Beck's show? The map from 2009? I don't know. Let's test your reading comprehension and research skills.
Okay on the bottom of the screen, in the lower right corner, you see the words "Live Desk" (okay, it's on the lower 3rd ID, but close). Now let's look up what "Live Desk" is.
Okay, that was a show that ran at 1pm to 3pm in 2008 to Jan of 2010 (you can tell by the HD in the corner).
International community wanted to shut down internet for Serbia in 90s, even it was the only communication line with outer world for common people who had nothing with regime. Free speech and human rights you say, yeah right.......
According to the national news, the Egyptian military has intervened in the looting of the historical museums, that decapitated two mummies, because it is an international tourism site and brings in money. Vandalism is one fear, as several years ago one of the mummy's penis disappeared (no joke) and we see fetishes on the mummy lore. Meanwhile, the Islamic the Muslim Brotherhood has declared this is the time to attack Israel from Egypt--New Jerusalem Post.
@hackneo64 You disrespect the face of anonymous by attempting to parody a one-sided newscasts name. Choose wiser spelling, as "Faux" and "Fox" are very opposing forces.
The violent problems of Egypt is feeding the violent Islamic group the Muslim Brotherhood, we are going to see more murders as we see the bloody path of the Jihad manifest more ignorance and blindness.
How is it possible that people at Fox "News" don't know where Egypt is.
The location of the Nile and the pyramids is pretty much the only thing most Americans know about Africa. If Fox "News" doesn't even know that, why are they on the air?

What are Mubarak's options right now? 1.) Empower or request the Egyptian Legislature to act? 2.) Take the matter under advisement? 3.) Call for a Constitutional Convention? 4.) Take steps to put down a rebellion? 5.) All of the above? 6.) None of the above?
@2PaperTigers it's just you. Wikileaks is only interested in major politics, and not in your personal data. Unlike some US laws, e.g. the special spying devices.
@skeletonlord2126 Every government is the right to keep certain information secret. Those who do not practice at least some sort of secrecy will be subject to nations that do.
@2PaperTigers How the hell did you come up with that one? Big Brother controlled the world's people's lives. Wikileaks just gives information to the people so that we may know the information that our governments are hiding. Is it just me, or does our modern governments seem like Big Brother? Considering The U.S. government can actually listen in on our phone conversations, what we say on the internet, etc....I would say that you have your ideals a bit backwards.
@foxyd3 Wikileaks selectively leaks information it sees fit. Otherwise why is Julian holding, or threatening to leak information about news corp? I use to like the idea. But now that i read up more about it wikileaks is starting to get political instead of just leaking everything it has. Its selective leaks. I presume blackmail is not too far off in the distance.
@2PaperTigers I could they not get to the point of holding back certain information? I would be doing the same thing if I were in his position, they are getting threats from the most powerful (yet corrupt as hell) governments in the world. I don't know about you, but I would start taking careful footsteps as well. In that context, yes, their change of game-plan makes perfect sense. Although, you, on the other hand, seem to have lost your head.
It's obvious that there's a lot of unrest in Egypt. The focus is on the ouster of Mubarak. The question is how to do this properly. A vote requires democratic institutions in place & actions by the existing government.Overthrow of the government would require some group to seize power and that would raise questions of its legitimacy. Mobs cannot claim to speak for the people & resort to violence raises questions of their ability to rule. Should Mubarak empower the people's representatives?

@effyleven Don't forget that is a theory, even if it where true, which it most likely is, we evolved off them, and something changed in us for the better.
@woody500z "Better?!" Huh! You don't know much about Evolution, do you? It isn't always forwards, you know. The only "better" there is in evolved individuals, is "better survivability" in a changed environment. Indeed, it is a mistake to think there is any kind of "plan" behind evolution.... that's theist thinking, and has nothing to do with how evolution works.
Also, be aware that theories stand ABOVE FACTS in the intellectual hierarchy, because they explain WHY the facts are as they are.
@effyleven Yes, we changed for the BETTER, we learned how to cooperate in groups, and use our brains in ways Africans couldn't in the past, and still cant today.
African achievements in the world - ?? Peanut butter?
European achievements in the world - Just about every thing
East Asian achievements in the world - Everything else Europeans didn't do.
Even though South Americans invented peanut better long before, ill give it to them, they need something right?
@woody500z Don't be daft! The blooming DOLPHINS think they are better than us because they DIDN'T invent nuclear weapons... and just spend all day frolicking around in the water and having a good time.... and, to be fair, they've got a good point. Hey! You need a BETTER idea of what's "better," mate!
@effyleven Nuclear weapons isn't out only great invention, how about strives in medical research, saving MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of lives, space travel etc etc etc.
So when a dolphin travels out to space, using technology they have created, come talk to me.
And i just figured out why you like dolphins so much, they have about the same amount of achievements as the Negro race. What great fantasizing creatures they both are. =)
@HomunculusProject How? White Australians have achieved alot in our short time.
In the short history since European settlement Australia could well lay claim to being the most inventive people per head of population on earth. The world would be a different place without the Black Box Flight Recorder, the Bionic Ear, the electric drill, commercial refrigeration, latex gloves and a whole host of other inventions which have changed lives across the globe.
@woody500z The basis of all that science/economy came from Europe, USA and partially Asia.
So, it being dependent for rather long as part of the Commonwealth, your argumentation is kinda weak.
While it is true that also parts of Africa were also parts, it is well known that the black community was oppressed by the early racial theories. And since then, Africa has been systematically exploited. And nobody denies that.
Pinning someone down and keeping him pinned down doesn't mean he can't walk.
@HomunculusProject Ahhh, here we go, another blame the white man. Seriously, i am not going to bother to argue with you, i was once like you, until i realized the truth. I also realized 90% of you are mentally retarded, and even when facts are presented, you will deny them and completely ignore the facts and truths, all because you are scared to be labeled a "racist" and are drowning in your own white guilt etc, etc, etc.
Have a nice day, and i hope your children don't follow your views.
@woody500z It isn't something about "blaming someone or guilt". It is simple history. Not to mention that you can't simply ignore the entire humanistic philosophy and simply impose some kind of "hierarchy" based on practical systems and models.
There are no facts to present and if there were, it wouldn't really make a difference.
But I agree that there is no pint in debating this again. Let's just hope that our kids are intelligent enough not to take sides.
The Egypt situation is a very very bad thing, yes support a political change, but look at the facts and having a rehash of Afganistan will make matters worse...

GmasterRED 1 year ago
@GmasterRED You're blaming Obama for creating the bill and I'M being partisan?
Trollercopter 1 year ago
@Trollercopter
I'm blaming the PRESIDENT, which is where the blame lies, not a particular party.
You and everyone else needs to stop with partisan bullshit when there is so much at stake.
It's the presidents responsibility no matter what party he is.
GmasterRED 1 year ago
@GmasterRED It's a proposed bill written by someone else. HOW IS HE TO BLAME FOR THAT YOU INBRED FUCKTARD?
