  • Solendra(sp) ? The solar company formerly the poster child for green and got 500m in gov. loans now bankrupt. So much for the green economy.

  • They are NOT throwing MONEY at the economy. They are throwing counterfeit currency at the market which takes purchasing power from anyone that has it already and spends it where they see fit. The FED can create money on a keyboard and lend to the gov. They already created 16Trillion, yes TRILLION, and lent it to their bank buddies here and around the world. For nonbelievers, check out table 6 on page 144 on the GAO's own document. sanders.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/GAO%20Fed%20Investigation.pdf

  • -- Imagine why CHINA is not in recession ,

First year economic students learn How Capital is build ...

  • Schiff makes sense

  • What choice do we have? we can have a million dollar ceo run a company in the ground or the government.

  • Govt doesn't have money they have only printing press lol absolutely

  • Do people get paid to be wrong?

50 years from Schiff is going to be remembered as a psychic.

  • Or a guy with common economic sense

  • --hyylo --- Put BUSH in court ,,,, BUSH owns the COURT ,, they own the army ,, and the CIA and FBI and Police ,,, WHO is going to put him in JAIL ,,, ONLY revolution and American LENIN can put BUSH and CHENEY and the rest of them in JAIL ...

  • why the f*ck are we amrican people not rallying together and demanding Bush be taken to court for doing this to the American people. We need to protest and demand Bush be taken to court.

  • Jim Ellis is wrong. We do not need to free up more credit for spending. Spending was the cause of this mess. We need jobs in the PRIVATE sector to regroup or so say go to a different niche in the market with that have profit demands.

  • we need to care for people--who cares what house prices are 10 years from now. we just don't know. what we do know is if we do not take care of people (food, shelter, health care) there will be riots--followed by the men-with-guns. more violence from the government. screw the accountants. PEOPLE FIRST.

  • the US is going to collapse.

  • Yep, see the good in the bad. We have a chance to create entirely new political and economic system. 4 the people by the people

  • when are more people going to wake up to the idea that you can't spend your way out of a recession. its entirely common sense!

don't listen to what the media schmoes say, peter schiff is FAR closer to the truth.

  • I'm glad that I wanted to become a machinist. But wait, I dont have a college degree. I guess my skills are worthless in the future.

  • The blue collar, poor working man's future dosn't look to bright

  • The hosts of this show are pin-heads. Programmed automatons with nary a thought in their heads. Painful to watch. Schiff has been right time and time again. But why continue to go out their and face this gauntlet of idiots? Because the has something to sell. And what he is selling is what he has been promoting for his clients. Schiff needs another bubble in commodities, most especially gold. Its a contrarian play and he may end up the King of the Universe.

  • As a manufacturer, I can tell you that Schiff is right on target. The "service economy" and the "information economy" are nonsense. The only way for an economy to prosper is by taking something of value and applying labor to it to create a product of higher value. Then, export that product. We have given our production capacity away over the last 10-15 years. Try to find a tool and die maker, or a millwright...or any seriously skilled machine labor. Forget it. Time to start over again.

  • hi, i'm not a manufacturer(aviously lol :) ) but mechanickly savy and i notice most american cars tend to have poor mechanical tech. and most often than not are the ones inside the repair shop while japanese cars seem to have less mechanicle errors ans problems. i was think about the chrys. 300. cheap car yet luxurious and then it hot me, they provide a cheap mechanicle design thats cheap to make

  • Funny every time Schiff starts talking about the fundamentals of the problem baldy host-guy interrupts and defaults to the other db.

  • Bye America.

  • Collapse the auto industry! Close more industry! Close the heavy machinery! Let's see if China starts building plants in America for Americans to work for $7 dollar an hour! Hell yeah. Then China can have all their own version of Wal Mart.

America is fucked. The people are so stupid they don't even any longer understand the progress they made - or what they had - and so have no idea how important it is to safeguard it.

  • Wait... we need to go back to making things - but let the auto industry collapse?

Do Americans understand that other nations subsidize their auto industries? Britain didn't - and they have none. Germany makes most of Europe's cars because it protects the industry.

Japan has subsidized Toyota and Honda in the past.

For that matter, the U.S. government handed AIG a $100 billion dollar check - no strings attached - but can't *loan* the important sector of automobile manufacturing?!

  • In every conceivable way, Americans have *lost* their way. They have no direction, no vision, and no purpose.

  • Not only is more spending a bad idea, but spending money we don't have is even worse. The only spending I would advocate is the money needed to build factories. And we might not even have to do that because private investors would be more than willing to raise the capital. The government should simply step out of the way.

  • The American people want to now when their corrupt politicians are going to Nationalise the private fed bank and get rid of the PRIVATE bankers out of the corrupt capitalist system. Refuse to pay any debts to the private banks and print your own state money. This applies to the rest of the world as well.

WHILE PRIVATE BANKS ARE ALLOWED TO EXIST WE ALL WILL always FEEL THIS ECONOMIC PAIN FROM GENERATION TO GENERATIONTO THEIR DNA being totaly corrupt by nature historicaly past present and future.

  • Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Have fun!!!!!

  • You know what gets me, is those two dummies sitting on Peter's right and left have ALWAYS been wrong, and they are alwyas going to be wrong. Spend more, get people borrowing more and shopping again? I'm no genious, but that makes no sence to me. And because the American people were ALWAYS against the Wall Street bailout and the Auto bailout, it seems to me the American people, and dumb as they are, are smarter than most of these economists too.

  • Thats because they are masters of the phony economy and nothing more. Without even realizing it's phony

  • I agree. Our country is now based on how much money people spend. If I ran a company the way our corrupt government runs this country, I would have went out of business years ago. That is the reason people are broke today or in debt up to their ears. They keep on saying to spend spend spend but, how are we suppose to spend when we have no jobs?
