The Kurama thing- well Kurama could be able to hold him back because Youko wasn't there really before the potion thing (something of the past life? ). They could even have the exact same soul- or it could be a soul fusion..
Yukina and Kuwabara..yes I guess she could stay with him. Even if they couldn't..well..yeah..but she could still stay with him. And she probably would..but maybe she wouldn't want to "hold him back". and him dying would be sad.

Well it was really because of his editor that he didn't just pair them in my opinion. He has both yaoi-fans and anti-yaoi-fans that are into YYH so he has to keep a kind of neutral standing to keep all his fans. That's why he only commented that Hiei and Kurama would be an "interesting" pair when asked. Leaving Hiei single would have done that too though.

Well it was really because of his editor that he didn't just pair them in my opinion. He has both yaoi-fans and anti-yaoi-fans that are into YYH so he has to keep a kind of neutral standing to keep all his fans. That's why he only commented that Hiei and Kurama would be an "interesting" pair when asked. Leaving Hiei single would have done that too though.

I just think the whole Youko thing isn't really resolved. Being a demon is part of him. I don't know how Youko will affect his age, etc. Of course, the mingling of Humans and demons now might make it a different case....So he might stay.
And Yukina - I don't know if she can actually be with Kuwabara because we don't know how she ages exactly, but I am sure it is slower than him....T_T
