i think with all the killing of spouses in the Us and abroad God is trying to people something Marriage is till DEATH DO US PART! divorce is sin with CONSEQUENCES!
If you want to get a divorce, better not marry, unless your partner is of the worst kind. If you say your partner has failed, no need to say that you have failed too. Its your responsibility to support your partner.
Lets hate divorce, and support families for a better society.
Family is the basic unit of a society. If it's broken on foolish arguments, the result must be a broken society as we now see in Western countries. We might get married for different reasons. Hardest part is to continue the marriage. Must have patients, sacrifices, etc from all parties, including the law. Breaking a partnership is simple (today its commercial and fashionable) - must be discouraged.
In UK law, one of following 3 reasons must be fulfilled to get a divorce within 1 year after being apart.
1)Unreasonable behaviour
2)Adulatory
3)Agreement.
In a divorce contest, if the petitioner is unable to prove one of above have been fulfilled, it is illegal to get a divorce. Even a judge would find hard to justify.
Divorce rate is higher in Western Countries because of the weakness of implementation of law. Access to law is too expensive. Majority of lawyers and judges have experienced broken families, therefore, by default the support divorce.
Some respectable law personals say, there must be 2 to marry and 1 to divorce. True, but disappointing. You can give a fake reason to get a divorce.
Are you sure? If you contest, can the result be changed? Of course yes.
A suggestion to women who really want to have a good marriage. Read your bible. Be in subjection to your husband and stop putting on revealing clothes and make-up. Yes. Yes. We know. You just want to look good for yourself and your husband.
Stop by product and start putting on a meek and quiet spirit! Being inwardly beautiful toward your husband is much more attractive then letting your "goods" hang out for his buddies to admire.
More often than not, it's simply "feminism" or the "Jezebel spirit". Satan wants to trap, dominate, chew, and spit man out!
The bible instructs the elder women (mother-in-laws) to teach their young daughters to love and obey their husbands. Is this taught today? Not in the USA! Not in our watered-down gospel taught.
Marriage vows are quite laughable. That's like politicians putting their hand on the bible and swearing or going through the "motions" in a Roman Catholic mass.
I, though a Muslim, very much respect your understanding and analysis. I asked similar question to one of my friend who stayed in USA for 3/4 years, "Why divorce rate is higher in Western society?" He replied me, "It is because, in the Western countries, Wedding system is difficult meanwhile having girl friend [which is undoubtably illegitimate] is easier."
