I'm sorry to hear about Raffy...I'm surprised he outlived my two late cats, one was 18, and the other was 15. The former cat hated going to the vet, especially if she needed shots (which required the muzzle to be used).
I had a huge Male named Ceaser that lived 19 years. He went blind and couldnt walk to well so we had to put him down. During the end was just as nasty as yours. He had a bad reputation at the Vets office. He was over 25lbs in his prime. He hated women and children. All the young ones in the family have ceaser scares on there hands. He loved me and never left my side and would come and go indoor and outdoor. If you go to google video and search "old kitty kat" he's there near end of page
I am so sorry to hear about your cat. Mine has not been his best he has a lower urinary tract infection now. He is 8 going to be 9 in May. He is my buddy and I cherish every day I have with him! He hates the vet as well!
I'm so sorry to hear that you had to put Raffy to sleep. I was in that same position, also because of renal failure almost two years ago. It's very tough to lose an animal. I was lucky to have two cats come into my life about a month later. It really helped with my own healing. I love them both very much, but, I still miss my sweet little Siamese girl.
@vesidude That's for your lovely comment, also thanks for revisiting raffy's video. Sound like your little baby also does not like going to the vet, raffy's quite vocal on the way to the vet, at the vet and on the way home from the vet. Like you I wish they would not fuss as much.
He sure gets cross about going to the vet doesnt he? We had a siamese that was causing such a fuss about spending the day at the vet that he had newspaper but in front of the cage so he couldnt see anything!
@GnosticAtheist Thanks for doing the research, wow 34 year old ekk, that means we are going to have him for another couple of years. His a good cat, very demanding, loud, happy but hates the vet. 8D
@funkyfoxz Well, 34 was the oldest in recorded history, so at 22 it is pretty much random how much longer he will live. He seems healthy for his age, but animals can die on the spot. I had a cat that died when he was 8 in his sleep, for no logical reason at all, seemed perfectly healthy. But the older they get, the more care they get, and that might explain why they can live so long, perhaps.
@GnosticAtheist Hi GnosticAtheist, I got rafffy age wrong, I went to the vet that desexed him and he turned 21 December 2010. Unfortunately we had to put Raffy down last week. I hoping to get another siamese in the next couple of month, not sure if he will out live Raffy's age, I think raffy lived longer than we expected. Take care.
In the name of all that is kitteh. How long is this cat going to live?! And he is not in pain or anything? Man, sad when he dies, but at 22... That calculates to 105 human years. Seriously... x_O
I"m sorry to hear that he passed away. I bet he lived so long because of his "fighting spirit"! It's good to know he was loved.

Sorry about your cat. My cat (who was 18 when she died) also hated the vet. Every time they had to give her a shot, they had to put her in a muzzle.

Hopefully this guy will make it another 12 years. Somehow, he reminds me of the cats I had in the past. They left a long time ago.

Wow Raffy is still not a happy camper when visiting the vet. Glad to see that he's still alive and doing good.

oh ok. I just read up on the breed. The oldest recorded cat ever was a siamese, counted 34 years old. So I am not that shocked anymore... :D

@GnosticAtheist By that logic, so can we. People can and do die on the spot too.
