Vanessa Riley still had him first, which was in step with how it should have been. I always thought that the British judges were overly pretentious in their marking.
@mlc2005 Vanessa Riley was a LEGEND. Sally Stapleford too. These 2 ladies did not 'follow the herd' and marked accordingly. Used to love listening to the commentators. Sally was one of the few who gave Katarina Witt her deserved marks at Olympics 88. Had others placed Ito 2nd in the Free, then Liz Manley would have won Gold, and rightly so. Unfortunately, many on the panel dared not do such a thing.

Unfortunately, I don't have the interview she gave to ITV when asked why she gave 5.6 - I'd love to have that! Only a British judge would have the balls to take off .2 for a visible jockstrap! LOL Classic! (and that still meant she was only gonna give 5.8 when the rest had 5.9 or 6.0) Good for her in any case.

This has got nothing to do with the skating but I do have the clip and I remember Vanessa, when asked, laughed in a naughty hicuppy way just like the woman who was married to Terry Scott did in Carry On Camping.
Wonderful performance but British judge Vanessa Riley's marking at the end of it was what I honestly wanted to see again LOL. I don't have this video, but I am currently putting together a montage to post up of some more of her 'memorable' judging moments for the sheer joy at seeing her make her point. I'll let you know when i've posted it up.
