Drafted into the NHL? You don't have to play anything. Some players played house league until the were about 14 years old and made it into the NHL.

Actually, there are three leagues called the OHL QMJHL and WHL (As you probably know) and if players are good, they will play in that league and scouts from the NHL will go and look at them, like John Tavares did. You can also get a scholarship at a college and get drafted that way. Som,e players even get drafted out of highschool or even a mediocre junior B team.

but like, my question was i know you can get scouted but like most of the NHL players get scouted from AAA then they move onto OHL and stuff, but are you sure you dont have to be in AAA to be scouted to OHL and QMJHL and WHL?

Of course not! You either have to get drafted into the OHL, QMJHL or WHL or you can get in by scouts. I have known players that go right from second year bantam and first year midget go right into the OHL without playing in AAA.
