Effect at 0:49 i think its called "matrix" for that you need like 30 cameras in a row shooting the scene , later edditing it you get this effect , shot moves from the first camera to the last , and you have the feeling of time freeze , its called "camera array"

@TheSurfersEye multiple cameras in a circle film him. they play each at camera at the same time and stop at one frame and go to each camera.. they used the same effect in the matrix. If you look it up I'm sure you can find it.

@TheSurfersEye It's similar to a 360 snap shot. There is a guy holding up a huge horizontal bar with probably 20+ gopros aligned on the bar in a straight line simultaneously recording. They go through the footage and locate the same exact frame and time on every go pro and extract that frame to get the same image at that exact point in time from different viewpoints of the cameras on that horizontal bar.

It's called 3D Camera Projection. It's a technique visual effects artist like myself create, for that effect it may take about 4-8 hours to create those 3 seconds, but well worth it right!? :)

@TheSurfersEye Its a very 'expensive' effect shall we say...you get a hell of a lot of DSLR camera and lay them out in a sort of shallow horse shoe shape pointed at where the trick will be executed...then at the chosen time...all the camera will take a picture at once...then you have a picture of the same trick at various angles...put this in a video with each pic one after another and you have the effect.

people wanting to know how to do the effect at 0:49-0:51 , you need a dozen cameras to all shoot at the same time, then you just put the same image segments togeather and you get that. sadly none of us have a dozen cameras so you're not gonna be able to do that.

My Guess is that they had multiple cameras set up at different angles. then they just composisted the different shots into after effects or other software that created somehow like a panoramic effect.

That's probably most likely how they did it.

@jurihandl yeah lighting is best at 1080p and its best not to have really bright sharp lights but try to use natural light or light that covers your whole frame. and slow-motion is post production

I got my GoPro HD Hero today. I will use it for a documentary film. Is there any secret of getting so extremly sharp and well lighted videos on the goPro? I heard that the videos are buch better at 1080p and also the light sensibillity is better at 1080p? Is that right?

One last question! ;) I see the whole video is 1080p but the goPro records only 25FPS at 1080p. So how do you get slowmotion? Post-production i gues??? :)

I suggest you are using PAL, i recommend you if you want to overcrank ( slowmotion ) use 720P and 50FPS. Almost no difference in quality, really you cant see it.. And since you dont have a lot of options on the camera itself. You gonna need this 50fps, to get some descent results.

p.s. If you are working in fcp7 And you do the standard slowmotion way ( rightclick on clip in time line -> change speed ) then untick the frameblending option. You will see why.
