This brings back a lot of memories for me. My grandparents lived in Clarks Summit on Knapp Road; growing up in the '70s I used to walk down past the high school and out onto the bridge over the tracks to watch Erie Lackawanna action. My grandmother would call some EL office in Scranton to find out what was coming that day. I remember we got up at 4am and went down there in pajamas to see the Freedom Train go by when it visited Scranton. Good times.
I'm not sure of the exact number, but I would guess between 10 and 15, but a lot of them run at night. Oh this day I only saw 3 trains between 8AM and 6PM
Depends on what day you're there. Thurs, Fri and Sat nights are busiest. Most of the action is bewteen dusk and about 3am. During the day you'll see as much as 4 or as little as 1 or none.
Nice angle! I've gotta try this one.
