  • the boy in 2:14, very funny..hahaha.. cool

  • I tell you ,He should have won!

  • yes absolutely right mostly filipino had a good talent in singing,it was in thier blood, some of the popular singer in hollywood that had filipino blood is,alicia key, nicole of pussy cat doll, apple of black eye peas, and charice pempingco...

  • @taratskie It's not just a Philippine thing, although I think singing just happens to be extremely popular there.

Jal Joshua is a boy soprano, Billy Gilman, Michael Jackson, and Shaheen Jafarholi are examples.

  • Thank you Australia for Jal...from Philippines

  • @chardnj ---- Mabuhay! Philippines...

Jal, Pilipino's proud of you, you're great.

  • He's the love child of Haley Joel Osment and Lea Salonga.

  • I have watch video after video on this kid. Basically who gives a rats how long he is able to sing and entertain for , no doubt he may be able to shake a leg too. As long as Joshua enjoys himself while doing it. At least he's not out running the streets. He's not stuck in front of the tube has the support of his family. What more could you ask for on the road to LIFE. Thank you Josh you make an old Queenslander proud. Choice!!!

  • OMG r u serious?

like im really confused, because i have no idea where that voice is coming from.

    so fricking amazing!

  • @britneypinkkk Boy Sopranos have really amazing voices before they reach puberty, before the larynx drops the vocal chords develop and uniquely rich tone.

Check out BIlly Gilman and Frankie Lymon for examples. Other good ones are Michael jackson and Shaheen Jafargholi, that kid from Britain's Got Talent.

  • wow awesum kid live your dream never give up and always have fun =]

  • pinoy power!!! keep it up ..,mabuhay!

  • follow your dreams matey it took guts to appear on stage, if you continue to sing with passion and from the heart, i am sure you will get what you deserve, your parents should be very proud of you

as i am sure they are you have a god given talent which you will develop in time, best wishes

  • proud to be pinoy!

  • calling star records or viva records. please record the songs of jal joshua. we can't wait playing them in our components, hearing over the airlanes and listening in mp3s and ipods.

keep on jal! like pacquiao, charice, arnel, and other filipinos who made it in the international scene. we are proud of you and you make us proud too. god bless!

  • you've only got about two more years of having a good voice cause then it'll break!!!!

  • You really know nothing about voice, don't you?

He's got such a good voice control and he's only gonna get better. What's gonna change is the depth of his voice.

It's not like he's just gonna go in falsetto when singing or forget the do, re mi scale.

  • unfortunately as much as people want to deny it, it's true. In fact I think it's mean to do that, they're idiots and are going to build up massive expectations for this kid that he won't be able to live up to. Before the Larynx drops in boy sopranos a unique range and tonal color forms, for some reason it doesn't translate so well into adult hood. Not that they're voices are bad, they just lose the wow factor. Check out Billy Gilman and Frankie Lymon for examples.

  • wat about declan galbraith and michael jackson there voice get better.

  • Nah. Billy Gilman and Frankie Lymon, imo, made a better transition.

Jackson however had a great deal more success because he was an expert at showmanship.

Declan? Honestly, his voice is quite unusual and warbling, not pleasant at all to listen to. All I can think is that he's also good at performing or the fact that he plays instruments has kept him so successful.

  • Declans voice didnt get better once his voice had dropped... Its no where near what it used to be... Sadly....

  • It's not as sudden for some ethnicity . .

  • Can you elaborate?

I'm not sure what you mean.

  • @Sshelly34213. you have a point. But I think Jal is an exception. It may raise some eyebrows, but Jal Joshua came from a province in the Philippines, where when the larynx of developing child singers dropped, they become better singers. I think it has something to do with the physical composition of their bodies. I agree with you that some doesn't translate too well into adulthood, but I guess Jal is an exception like other Filipino child singers who became better when they reached adulthood =)

  • Really? Can you give me some examples of singers that have made successful transformations?

I mean that would be great for Jal, he seems to have such a passion for it and he seems like such a nice kid.

Btw it's not that their voices get worse, they actually get better. It's just a completely different voice, it's more dramatic I guess.

  • If you mean successful transformations in terms of fame, I would not be able to give you names 'coz you don't know them anyway. But I've seen/heard how young choirboys-now adults, from Josh's province become better singers. A completely different voice as you said, but better voices. Unlike Josh, however, they did not have the same opportunity. But I assure you, the Philippines have plenty of great singers owing to their musicality. Most COmmon folks here can sing better than the famous ones.

  • I agree with you that they actually get better, it's just a completely different voice though and less dramatic. So, I hope when Jal becomes an adult he would still have the same dramatic voice. But I can bet my life on it, I know he would still have because his persona radiates the fact the he has it. Unlike other child singers who tends to belt it out only for the sake of singing.

I think we are both on the same line. It's the choice of words that we use here that matters. =)

  • Well idk, I mean I can't judge other kid singers, I think the original motivation to sing is always there. A musician is incapable of not feeling some sort of emotion about music.

I think Jal does put a great deal of emotion in his singing that just isn't present in most kid singers. He's also humble about it, how many kids are that humble about it?

  • Well said =)

  • amazing performance. Just amazing

  • gives me shivers!

  • the best voice so far. I hope he could win the grand finals.

  • i think that's what you call a child with a gifted voice! goodluck!

  • leaves me breathless
