This is the situation the republicans are pledging to take us back to. Their reform is to limit the amount you can get in a lawsuit when somebody does something that cripples you for life. They do nothing about the preexisting condition problem but they want to protect corporations from those nasty juries that may find against them.

Take a look at your check, you're already paying for Medicare/aid (every ones meds). On top of that, you're not going to get SSI anyway; that money is being borrowed to pay for other expenditures of the American govt. regardless what party is at throne. You can't argue why we're taxed for Medicare until the law mandating a public hospital to care for those without health care is retracted, that will never happen. @ 7:19 of this vid is the perfect analogy to complete privatized health care.

If you look at France their economy is on the brink of collapse and maybe removed from the European Union. 20% of their payroll is designated to healthcare with another 7.5% towards supplemental care. Net govt debt in France is 120% of GDP compared to 65.8% as previously reported. You wont hear about this in Michael Moores SICKO. Barney Frank was the head of the congressional committee charged with oversight of the mortgage industry. In 2004, he was on record as stating that the industry was healthy, contrary to the charges from the (gasp!!) Republicans in congress. In case you are unaware, Barney Frank is a (gasp!!) Democrat. The insurance industry that covers you DETERMINES what kind of care you can receive. If THEY deem it TOO costly for a procedure that may save you life or offering a drug that may save your life and they say it's too expensive, THEY CAN REFUSE PAYING FOR THAT PROCEDURE OR DRUG.

Everybody is talking about premiums and the cost of UHC but it doesnt matter how much you're paying because corps can still deny you coverage if they want.
Its not just about who's covered and who's not covered. The profit motive has to be taken out. There are people who ARE covered, pay every month on time and then still ultimately at the end have no health insurance.
Interesting. insurance. Based on the word isn't it suppose to 'insure' you can get health care. How can u b denied?

Mate, in the European Union what a family end paying for health care goes from 200 to 300 bucks a month.
In Canada is between 250 to 280, depending on your province, same in Australia. ALL THESE NATIONS COVER 100% OF THEIR POPULATION, fully coverage, the preexisting conditions concept do not exist there.
In the US is a family end paying 700 dollars a month. with 50 million people with no access at all and 150 million with half ass coverage.
What make people not see the numbers? please explain.

love this doc, I've been saying this for yrs that no company should be allowed to profit of the death of Americans. Single Payer is the only way to stop this. If we cant have it we at least deserve a Public Option that will put every dime of its money after payroll and cost to run back into insuring the American people. Health Care is the same as the police, and fire departments, they are their to save lives not to make a profit.

The funny thing is Rural metro still offers privately paid fire services. Mainly to rural housing but still... if you don't sign up with them under contract they might put out the fire but you'd go bankrupt because of the bill.

I always wonder how the ultra rich have been able to brain washed Americans to make them believe that Health is a Benefit and not a Human Right?? In the European Union, Canada, Japan, Australia is a Human right, 100% of people are cover.
IF you pay 100 bucks from your check every month thats not really what you pay to health care, you company pays probably $600 a month(MONEY THAN IN THE REST OF THE WORLD) will be in your pocket, will be part of your salary, not in the US, is so interesting.

The under insure are 150 million Americans, put this on your eyes, there are: only 100 million people with full coverage,
50 million with no coverage
150 with crappy coverage, eventhough in average they pay 700 bucks a month while in europe is 300 and canada 280 per family.
Insurance companies can deny access even if you pay on time.

Why do you think they are shutting down alternative clinics, & outlawing herbal medicine? These things work. I know of two treatments that get cure cancer, aids and malaria however they are illegal. I can go to prison if I were to tell my patients about them or treat them with it. It isn't about health, healing is illegal in America.
