  • Patīkami klausīties, super balss un melodija.patīk no bērnības.

  • okay first off hes singing in German not Croatian. And trust me i would know. And its pronounced E-voh Rrroh-Beach

  • Wow, what a great song from July 1959 as I was entering my senior

year in high school in Youngstown, Ohio. One of my all-time favorites.

  • Fine song!

    Aloha from Hawaii!

  • I had forgotten this version of the song... It was still being played in the early to mid sixties. Found it by chance in iTunes. Bought it, of course!

  • There was a popular version of this that we used to hear quite a bit in 1959 and this is as close to the way I recall the song as anything I've been able to find. But somehow it doesn't sound quite the way I remember it. Perhaps its just my memory.

  • I recently discovered I had this in my collection...beautiful German song!

(I uploaded a instrumental by The Ventures last year)

  • I remember being aquainted with this song but that's about all. I don't remember hearing it played, but ten I know of it but haven't heard it since you know when. I don't think of it as a R&R song however & it was never played at the noon hour sock hop...it was obviously aimed at the mature adult & I didn't care for it at all. It reminds me of Sailor by Lolita, a song I better remember but it too wasn't played at no sock hop. I won't miss this one and I gave it the vote it deserves!

  • I loved listening to this again, this was always on the juke box in the bier bar.

The backing is i think Bert kaempfert who was to polydor what george martin was to parlephone and

the Beatles, only Bert recorded them first (saw them in the Kaiser Keller and didnt like them)

  • I enjoy this song very much since the 1960"s.

Can someone provide me a translation in English?

    Thanks.

  • He was very popular when I was a kid in Germany

  • German: Tomorrow, Tomorrow-- luck will laugh at us again. Yesterday, yesterday is already past and gone...

  • What a great thorough backing for a sensitive beautiful song! I have re-visited this many times. Ivo has an unbelievable voice and the backing superb!

    Thanks Vinyldaewo.

    dennoch 5 Sterne.

geht auch in english, What a great great song!!!!!!!! Many Thanks for it.

  • Eevo Robich with the ch beeing pronounced like in chest or choke...

  • Grossartige Stime,genial.

    Ivo robic zauvijek.

    Super!

  • Wow, have not heard this song since I was a young boy here in the USA back in the late 50's. It was played on the radio quite often. I went to Germany in 1997 to see my son who was in the Air Force. We toured Europe by car and stayed in Bavaria. At breakfast all of the dining room help were nodding and saying "morgen" to me. I was about ready to tell them my name was Larry, not Morgan, when my son told me in meant "morning":)

  • I am Czech I had the oportunity to play football (to some Soccer) in what was at the time West Germany this Ivo Robic version was still hot in 1965 I was 17 yrs old turning 18yr brings back many memories thank you IVO and You Tube docpete1968

  • A song I use to hear a lot on the Pre-Historie! Class Schlager!

  • He is singing in German because he lived in germany for a long time but he does sing with a slavic accent. Very charming if you can hear the difference.

  • I am remembering that March 9th is the 10th anniversary of Ivo Robich's death. RIP forever & ever, Mr. Morgen! Your songs still are with us....

  • galilè...mamma mia quanti ricordi....non ti dico....bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb, cagaten!

  • This is a beutiful song. I remember it from the 60's. Used to go to a night club in Chicago called Moulin Rouge, they played this song every night, beutiful. Wish this were the 60's.

  • Ah yes, Rhinelander ,Trefpunkt,Hutenbar, nice times

  • @varigdc10 That makes two of us!

  • Can anyone tell me how to pronounce (phonetically) this wonderful man's name?

    Thank you.

  • Go to my videos and find the video IVO ROBIĆ - Medley (with BIG BAND ORCHESTRA) and then go to 0:19 and you will hear the moderator tell his name ! :)

  • @vinyldaewo Thanks so much!

    Cheers!

  • it's Croatian and is pronounced Eevo Robitch'. Great song isn't it? Evocaive of the 1950s and 60s, more innocent times than we have today.

  • @cristabele1959 yes, thanks so much! another person also pointed me to a video where IR was announced by an MC

  • just look on it as Evo Robich

  • @knitanitao

    it's ee-voh raw-bich

or if you wish /ɪvo ɹobɪtʃ/

  • @knitanitao

Hi Knitanitao, it'spronounced as Ivo Robeetch, with the ee pronounced shórt. (but not Robitch - no offense meant)

LOL, I'm not that good at phonetics in Englis, beeing Dutrch myself, I hope it's clear to you anyway)

  • @knitanitao ivo....on english e w ouu

  • @knitanitao

it is pronounced: Eevo Robitch..but you have to hear it to place the proper accent on the letters..

  • @knitanitao Yes gladly IVO is eevo robich rob like rob in robber docpete1968

  • i:vo robich

  • @knitanitao ee-voh rob-itch

  • @knitanitao i – happy (last letter) v – voice (first letter) o – north (second letter) r - red (first letter) o – north (second letter) b - Boston (first letter) i – happy (last letter) 'c - chimney (ch) ============= Cyrilic - Иво Робич
  • @knitanitao

Ivo Robic - Ivo is pronouncing like name of island Iwo Jima (without Jima) ;)

Robić - like Rob Roy (without Roy) and with -ich at the end.

  • @knitanitao

    its pronounced:

    eevo robich

  • @knitanitao i guess you could say it eev-oh ro-bitch (yeah, the second part of the last name is pronounced like english "bitch" :D)

  • @MrChaletta

Actually, not. It is not "bitch" it is "bich", because "bitch" is pronounced short and hard and "bich" is pronounced long and soft. There is a big difference between those two, that "tch" pronounced would be Croatian letter "č", and "ch" pronounced would be Croatian letter "ć". And his name is Ivo Robić.

  • @knitanitao

    ee-voe rob-itch

  • RIP Legendo

  • The best of a life long past.... yet, still ageless and ever more.

    stranci u noci

  • Hi, I'm having a discussion with some of my friends at work. Is Ivo singing in Croation or German? Would appreciate if you could help me.

    Thanks.

  • Ivo Robić is the most popular Croatian singer. He is singing, or he was singing in Croatian, but he had a big career in Germany, so he recorded many songs in German, but he also sings in Italian, French

  • @vinyldaewo IVO ROBIC IS GOOD BUT THERE WAS ANOTHER CROAT SINGER HIS NAME WAS VICE VUKOV ( NOT SURE OF THE SPELLING ) ALSO IN THE EARLY 60 S THERE WERE SEVERAL CZECH SINGERS WHO DID WELL IN GERMANY SSG DOC PETE 68

  • @pjkolarik47 Yes, they are booth great !

  • In German. You are welcome to listen to songs in Croatian. Many of them could be recommended to you if you want decent introduction. Just let me know. Try his 'Golubovi" as introduction

  • he is singing in german, of course, albeit with a slight croatian accent..

  • He was great he and Ray Adams was my early 60"s and otto Brandenburg..those were the days..chiao

  • German. Don't you love this song. Shon.

  • @nic0le47

He's singing in German here, Nicole. (I'm Dutch, we had to learn the German language in school back then)

  • @nic0le47

    this song is in German

  • @nic0le47

This song is sung in German.

  • A beautiful song, and a wonderful voice. What an exquisite combination! Thank you.

  • ivo was a star .... may he rest in peace.

  • When I came to Canada in 1959,, this song was in the top ten in Toronto, in spite of the general anti-german attitudes of the time.

  • ivo my man

  • er ist Kult,denke an meine Eltern.Danke

  • Wunderbar!

  • I dont care wot anyone says you can not beat the original way to go Ivo

  • This is my favourite song. Classic and still

needed in our day and age. Mr Morgan- Ivo Robic I salute you. May you sing this song when we all get to heaven.... I still believe in tomorrow!!!!!

  • This song has been translated loosely into English as "One More Sunrise". Es ist ein shoenes leid (which in English means, it is a beautiful song).

  • I only know this as morning-- thanks for the input

  • schöne alte Schnulze-aber prima

  • Schönes lied!!!!Guter kroatischer sänger und guter deutscher produzent Kämpfert

  • great

  • Memories..... Thank you for posting.

  • The world must have been a more interesting place 50 years ago. For all the talk of diversity today, nothing like this (or any equivalent) could make today's chart. Thank God For youtube and songs with melodies.

  • it WAS more interesting. People of today think they know it all, have it all etc., but they are sadly lacking in many things, especially those that have to do with heart and soul.

  • @cristabele1959: certainly a deadly lack of worthwhile instrumentation. melody seems to have minimized to an unsavory degree.

  • Wunderbare,elegante Nostalgik

    einfach 'classic'

  • odlicno:)

  • Schoen!

  • Mooie melody uit de jaren 60; nostalgie.

  • Das waren noch Zeiten...eine elegante

    schoene Darbietung...Happy 2009 !

  • danke dojcland

  • I recall this from my youth. Searched a long time to locate this and Lolita. Songs you play over and over again!!!!Those happy days are long gone...NEVER to come again!

  • I too did the sme thing with Morgen and Lolita's Sailor. Here in Holland you can get tthem on a 3-cd compilation with such gems as Tanze mit mir in dem Morgen.

  • Wow, I recall this song on AM radio way back, I think, in the late 50's or so. Really pretty.Folks had a lot better taste in music back then

  • Kroatia? Wunderbar!!!

  • Kookie, Kookie ~ Lend me your comb!

  • Zelo lepa pesem.

  • The first star of Croatian music (the only one)!

  • I too bought this song in Montreal when I was 13. I still have the song in my 45rpm record collection. I was inspired to learn German now I can speak German, French and English. Music is the bridge to friendship.

  • Divna pesma. Potsecame na Hamburg i detinjstvo. Moja porodica je volela Ivu.

    Pozdrav iz Americe

  • Great song. It was very popular here in Australia in late 1959 and early 1960.

  • Morgen = morning OR tomorrow

    Gesten = yesterday

I remember this song from 1959. It was the ginchiest! Kookie.

  • Funny story. I went to Germany in 2000 to see my son who had been stationed there for 7 years and spoke near fluent German. We went to Bavaria and stayed at nice inn. The next day at breakfast the nice fraulien waiting on us said "morgen" to me. I thought she was asking my name and I corrected her by saying, like an idiot, "No, Larry" My son loved it and still refers to me as Morgan once in a while.

  • There was a DJ named Morgan in Harrisburg, PA who would play this song almost every day back in the 1980's.

  • A wahnsinn der Kroate... tako dalje care

  • Prvi i jedini put da neki hrvatski glazbenik uđe u Billboard top 100. Ova današnja naša muzika je sranje. Bravo!

  • Boy am I old. I bought the 45 when this first came out in '59!!

  • are we today still alone, but tomorrow, tomorrow... tomorrow hapiness will smile again upon us, tomorrow, tomorrow the beautiful times will come back to us again, tomorrow, tomorrow will all this be over, tomorrow, tomorrow will life be finally beautiful again

  • tomorrow, tomorrow happiness smiles upon us again

yesterday, yesterday lies already so far behind

was it though, a nice, nice time..

tomorrow, tomorrow, we will be there again

yesterday, yesterday has no meaning today, even though it was a nice, nice time, are we today poor and small, are we today also without sunshine..

  • This sounds like a very pretty song. Can someone translate the lyrics?

  • That has got to be my favourite song of all time. Thanks for posting this video, and the others by Ivo Robic. Are there moe videos of Ivo Robic to come soon? I hope so.

  • Wonderful rendition, does anyone know of a version of Morgen, by the Gunther Kallmann

    Chorus from the 60's.

  • this song tune was also brought out in english form and was titled " one more sunrise"

Tedaj nisem vedela, da si "Strangers in the night" napisal ti.

  • Great voice-great song. One of my all time favorites. The video is wonderful. This song made it to #10 in the USA in the Fall of 1959.

  • Bravo Ivo svaka ti čast!!!!Počivaj u miru božjem!!!

  • This song went to #1 in Canada

  • Veliki Hrvat i glazbenik. Pocivao u miru Bozijem.

  • Ivu Robića su voljeli moji roditelji.Tada mi je bio prestari pjevač.Danas ga cijenim puno više i otkrivam njegove pjesme iz pedesetih i šezdesetih godina.
