@thunderXalchemist Mine were from a raw I downloaded a while back. I can't think of any place it can be downloaded now. Your best chance of finding it would probably be from someone selling it on amazon or ebay.

is this a movie or a series? cos ppl saying movie, and I remember a little bit of this anime, the girl, nelo with patrache and the paintings. After watchin this vid remembering thing in the anime I feel that I am the loneliest person in the world and at the last scene when the girl seeing illusion of his friend and patrache. Too sad for him and the dog T_T

You watch the 1999 movie version of this, in there, Nello didn't die, he just dreampt seeing his mother and grandpa and Peter Paul Rubens...(never shown) but he became a great artist. Nello was portrayed by James Kissner. Beautiful film really.

Ever since I found this video, I've watched it probably 25 times or more, just because it's so good. I'm not a fan of Alicia Keys at all, but this is just such a perfect music selection for the movie, and you've used excellent animation sequences to make the video flow right along with the lyrics. Brilliant job. This is my favorite AMV, and you've actually made me really, really like this song. Now whenever I hear it, I think about The Dog of Flanders and feel like crying, lol. Thanks!

The only suggestion or constructive criticism I'd make to this is that at 3:14 you show Nello and Patrasche lying down on the church floor, and then at 3:18 you show them repeating the same sequence lying down again. Not sure if that's what you were going for, but it kind of breaks up the flow of the story just a bit, IMO, especially after the beautiful close-up image of them together. hi,it was a famouse japanese anime from 1975 in japan,called The Dog of Flanders,(Dutch novel). Heidi still u can watch in germany and also in japan,anime cable TV. And i guess u can buy this anime DVD in japan.

Good Vid. I always thought it was sad that Nello just thought he was a burden on the world and decided to die. I think the worst was when he thanked his dog for coming to him, as though a dog were enough for someone like him. He really didn't want to go alone in the end.

funny thing is almost nobody knows the movie in Flanders ... probably because the clergy in Flanders was very powerfull until the late 60s and didnt like the way in which they were represented in the story or the movie ... i'm from Flanders and all i have seen are some parts off the Anime-movie on YouTube. Is there a version off this film with Dutch subtitles?

the movie is no longer in production, but I found it on Amazon for $65 if you want a knew one or used for $39 so I have to start saving, because I love this movie! I can't believe my mom sold the VHS copy we had :(

There are still some places where you can find people selling it though.

I've never read the original, but I only saw the 1992 anime. I think this was the 1975 adaptation. It never fails to make me cry (in a good way).

Didn't know Aloise grew up to be a nun in that version. I wonder if that's the same in the book. The 1992 version I think never showed 'the future.'
