I think that Sue's narration makes the programme more interesting, actually. While some may find it annoying, I like that she is not afraid to insert her own comments and reaction to the story, instead of presenting plain facts. Besides, the viewers realise that they're from her own opinions, which they may agree or disagree with. I don't mind watching this for entertainment.

Because this portrait of Anne did not seem fair and honest but full of quiet sarcasm and near resentment quickly iced over with an "Oh but I have so much respect for her", sort of critisism going on. If you're going to present an opinion of 'well Anne behaved this way because she felt this way', then give me the excerpt from the diary that led you to such thinking not just expect me to trust your interpretation. I look forward to future interpretations of Anne's diaries.
