  • George Andrews is a living legend in British Martial Arts. My first teacher in my journey in to the MA world and undoubtedly the best. The famous Marble Factory where he taught was like him, functional and spartan. The strongest guy I ever met, by far.

  • @ellul613 ........... I trained at the Marble Factory MANY times! Some great memories, lots of sweat and bruises.

  • Who is flipchigly? Where do you train?

Re Batmankeith's comment on George Andrews is the man in the karate world. He is one of many and how many have you seen?

  • Sensei Andrews is an amazing man and remarkably strong. He looks overweight but he packs one hell of a punch. Great Sensei!

  • Great man. I remember sitting around a camp fire in '92 at the IOGKF European Gashuku and he was so dispondant about training and everything. Saying about "politics this and financial that..." and I tried to tell him how much he was respected by everyone (world over) and he just wouldn't have it. A frustrating conversation with such a lovely bloke.... who can quite easily pull you head off.

  • Was that in Mulhouse? He was my sensei for many years.

  • Yes it was Mulhouse, great Gashuku. I take it you used to train at the old marble factory then?

  • 34 Camberwell Road. Colemandina shows who he is in the name. Ask George Andrews about his Oxford connection. I think he'll have many stories to tell about "combine" & "helm". We knew George Andrews when he was a 1st Dan

  • Ha Ha, cheers for the comment. I sussed who Colemandina was a while ago from another comment he posted on An'ichi performing Tensho. I'm very passionate about the tradition of Goju Ryu as i'm sure he / you are and will refrain from commenting further due to my ignorance on what I feel may be political issues. Sensei Paul, I enjoyed your company over a few beers in Mulhouse sat under somebodies awning ha ha. Arigato.

  • over the years i have had the privilege to train with sensei George Andrew and if you have the opportunity i recommend you train with the man

  • Sensei George andrews is the man in the karate world total respect
