  • yes, she "can" sing anything, but there's a reason this aria was written for a soprano (ie, someone with their lower break at about an F) -- the low jumps stay in her head voice! It's not vocally very threatening-sounding with almost no chest voice... However, those triplets near the end scare me a lot. As does her tongue vibrato. And not in a good way.

  • @claireDVZO I happen to know a some singers who have worked with her, and they tell me that she is a technical anomaly. Things that shouldn't work, work great for her. In every bunch there is an exception to the rule otherwise the rule wouldn't have to be in place, it would just be common knowledge.

  • La Bartoli defies classification. She's a soprano plus a mezzo. She is Bartoli, a goddess.
