This is truly not "nature" it is a few captured animals that don't belong together and people could have call for a zoo keeper to intervine.

If a keeper would have entered the cage, he/she probably would have been attacked by the others. You have to let these fights go on, interfering with them only stops for the present. It might make you feel better, but the animals would have finished it when you weren't there.

This time one of those patient Otters finally snapped.
so i used to work at the bronx zoo. I worked in the monorail department, and i was there the day that this happened.
The thing that alot of people don't know is that the monkeys were bullying the otters. They'd climb down the tree real fast, smack the otters on the head, and run back up the tree...and i'm being serious. So the otters apparently got sick of it and.....well....this happened.
since this day, i believe the monkeys and otters have been separated.
The people who filmed and submitted this are sick. All you can say is "oh my god". You couldn't figure to get a zoo offical. Real funny unless you were drowning!

i heard the inside story from one of the zoo keepers. apparently this particular monkey was harassing the otters for weeks by throwing feces at it and other such things. one day the otters coordinated and ganged up to drown the monkey. as far as i know, otters have never acted in such a way before.

I work at this zoo as well, and TheSNakE666 is right. The otters and the langurs HATED each other. I walked through that exhibit once on my day off, and the langurs would go and smack one of the otters and then run up a tree, otters in full pursuit.
I work at the zoo too, and I work with the same kind of otters (not these guys though)... We arent allowed to be in the exhibit with them, or to touch them. They are hunters by nature, and just like any other animals, you have to treat them with respect and awareness. What I want to know is, if someone had time to record this, why didnt someone have the time to run and call for a keeper? Poor monkeys... they were trying to save the baby... I still dont think the otters were evil though.
What I want to know is... why are the monkeys and otters in the same enclosure?

Why anyone would tape and/or want to watch something be killed is beyond me and sick. ...And when animals kill each other, yes, it's part of the circle of life-- but it's still terribly sad. I find this video disturbing.

I work at this zoo as well, and TheSNakE666 is right. The otters and the langurs HATED each other. I walked through that exhibit once on my day off, and the langurs would go and smack one of the otters and then run up a tree, otters in full pursuit.

I work at the zoo too, and I work with the same kind of otters (not these guys though)... We arent allowed to be in the exhibit with them, or to touch them. They are hunters by nature, and just like any other animals, you have to treat them with respect and awareness. What I want to know is, if someone had time to record this, why didnt someone have the time to run and call for a keeper? Poor monkeys... they were trying to save the baby... I still dont think the otters were evil though.

I work there and I didnt get to personally see this but I did hear some of the keepers saying it was one of the recently born babies in the exhibit.
