yup, but ur mother tongue will be either mandarin if u are chinese, malay if u are malay and so on. english is more like a second language(if im not wrong in ur birth certs and official documents they put it as the second lang) but its just that most ppl nowadays have better grasp of english rather than their mother tongue, hence the misconception.
