Handzar was a minor formation of Bosnian soldiers intended to defend civilian population of Bosnia which were under Ustasa and Chetnik terror. However they were sent by Germans to France for training against their will.
In return Handzar staged only rebellion in history of SS and most of the Handzar solders ended up fighting Germans in partizans.
The only real legacy of the division was that around 5000 Muslims left to France and left their homes undefended and attacked by Serb, Croat and German fascists. Even the ideological father of division Pandza left Sarajevo to fight Germans when he realised that Germans betrayed him. Before summer 1994 Handzar was not involved in any fighting. In 1994 most soldiers deserted and by autumn the division was disbanded

There is clear documentation that Himmler showed up following the Villefrance mutiny to award SS-Imam Dzozo the EK 1st class, and EKII to Schutze Jasarevic and Okanadzic...to name a few.

3 Iron Crosses 2nd Class were awarded to 3 Bosnian officers in 1943 by Himmler in person.

Handzar was a minor formation of Bosnian soldiers intended to defend civilian population of Bosnia which were under Ustasa and Chetnik terror. However they were sent by Germans to France for training against their will.
In return Handzar staged only rebellion in history of SS and most of the Handzar solders ended up fighting Germans in partizans.

The only real legacy of the division was that around 5000 Muslims left to France and left their homes undefended and attacked by Serb, Croat and German fascists. Even the ideological father of division Pandza left Sarajevo to fight Germans when he realised that Germans betrayed him. Before summer 1994 Handzar was not involved in any fighting. In 1994 most soldiers deserted and by autumn the division was disbanded

Legacy of 13 SS is around 600 Iron Crosses, 5 Knights Crosses, 4 German Crosses in Gold and the saving of about 60,000 German troops that were on a retreat from Greece.
Handschar div. was the cornerstone of the largest anti partisan sweep in history.
You claim of no combat record for this unit is a reflection of your own intellect. In April of '44 i/28 recieved 82 EKs alone.

There was no railway starting in NE Bosnia and leading to Auschwitz. All claims of genocide regarding with 13. SS are unfounded and have no historical or factual basis.
Most of the atrocities that happened in the summer of '44 were committed by cetniks who roamed near SS units in eastern Bosnia. Partisans wrongfully blaimed the SS for the crimes.

I got something backwards? I did 10 years of research on this division. German pressure on the W-SS, Ustasa and Domobran units in eastern Bosnia forced them to cooperate with the Cetniks. Op Hackfleisch was the first case of Cetniks murdering partisan nurses and captives.
The Waffen SS were field anti partisan divisions that never protected a single railway to any concentration camp. They held military railways from Greece till Oct '44

No...Nedic is never mentioned in SS liason offices in E. Bosnia. The Majevica Cetniks routinely showed up to SS quartermasters during the summer and fall of 1944 for ammunition and food. The earliest SS-Cetnik offensive was the attack on Jasenovica in the spring of 1944, and the Maighlochken raid on a partisan airstrip at Osmaci.
I lived there for long enough and no European country will ever adopt sharia law, let alone Bosnia. The funding since 1944 was in charities

I spoke to a guy who was a member of the Handzar Division. He said that he joined because he was told that they were going to fight strictly in Bosnia, against Serbian Chetnik forces and Partisans, in regions where the Bosnian Moslems were being exterminated by Serbs.
Another guy told me that he joined the Ustase because they had better food, uniforms and arms. Few of them had any idea about communism, capitalism, fasicsm. Mostly hillbillies. Underducated and unprepared.

Over 600 iron crosses were awarded between april 1944-sept 1944

There is clear documentation that Himmler showed up following the Villefrance mutiny to award SS-Imam Dzozo the EK 1st class, and EKII to Schutze Jasarevic and Okanadzic...to name a few.
Himmler would normally give out awards on special occasions like the close combat clasp, bandenkampfer and gold wound badges.
He took a personal interest at Handschar following the mutiny and moved to Neuhammer, Germany, also providing them with 1st class weaponry ..cont.

The formation of Handschar was an indirect way to get Turkey into the war after the major loss at Stalingrad. Other attempts were made with the Ostturkischeverbande.
There were many other reasons. The previous Bosnian generation distinguished itself on the fronts of WW1.
