  • My brothers a beast =]]

  • AWESOME!

  • I heard this 16 year old mentioned on the Howard Stern show the other day. Way to go Jared!!

  • haters:

i know about contemporary art and stuff. if someone who was 35 was making this, then yeah, flame away. but seriously, what 16 year old makes art that is relevant beyond itself? SERIOUSLY. none. this kid is great. "good" art is all about context. homeboy still lives at home. give him a break.

  • OH SNAP!

You rock, Jared. You rock :P

  • I'll bet! How do those gallery showings of paintings of other peoples photographs go? I'm sure you rake it in.

  • It's pretty awesome how you prove my point just by being both immature and ignorant...

  • Photos can't always capture everything your eyes can, and often paintings from photos end up looking flat. As a draftsman your goal is to fool the viewer into thinking what they are looking at is real. our talents are there kiddo, so keep up the practice.

  • I'm not going to say you don't have talent, cuz you certainly do have it. However you should really look into taking some life drawing classes or something that will allow you to explore your talents away from just copying photos. It's a bad habit to get into.

  • It shows some talent, to reproduce artwork, but this is not a great piece of work. It's fair to give Jared, some positive feedback but you people are out of control. You're just setting him up for failure later on in life. He needs honest criticism at this point in his life. Copying someone elses work is not great art. He needs to start coming up with his own ideas and showcasing those. Then, if he receives honest criticism and uses it to improve on his already shown talents, will he be great.

  • Great work, Jared!

You are very talented and gifted. I will look forward to great things to come from you.

  • Nice work.

  • When I was starting out in my art career, I used to also copy photos and paintings. It was a good exercise and good practice. In this case, this teen is painting a portrait of a dead celebrity who probably passed away before this kid was born. I don't know any other way except from a photo that he could possibly paint his portrait. This kid is also painting this for charity and should be commended.

  • i agreed about copying a picture...but, he is 16! let him copy pictures! he still has his whole life to use his imagination! this is just pratice for him!

  • as a fellow artist i must say that jared is talented at his craft. i understand where the praise and critics arise. in the art world there is what is called form and content. yes this is a magnificent rendering of skilled craftmanship. however the other artist may say that praised art should "say" something, represent an idea or concept. when artists can achieve this balance then we are all enlightened.

  • Amazing talent- you will be very famous one day!

  • On behalf of People In The Arts Foundation, we wanted to congratulate Jared Seff on yet another job well done! We are very proud to be representative of talent as outstanding as Jared! Jared work will also be on display in Los Angeles, PAWS/LA Charity Benefit.

  • I've been an artist for over 20 years, and this 16 year old has tremendous talent. I just checked out artie robins website. Instead of telling this kid he has no imagination you should be begging him for lessons.

  • The art is genius. Before cameras, artists took a picture with their eyes and painted what they saw. His website speaks for itself. A undiscovered talent whose time will come! No imagination? Andy Warhol had no talent! Jared Seff is raw, refreshing & should be praised and envied! Great work young man!

  • Wow, he makes it look so easy. Wish I could paint like that.

  • Sorry dude-but painting from a photo is not art. Start using your imagination-then we all benefit.

  • You are obviously blind, drunk, stupid or all of the above. Back to you etch a sketch and let this boys work speak for itself!
