@takotheoktopus Yes, coz the Arab countries contribute a lot to the world: Human rights, women rights, Gay rights, Technology, Environment care... Saudi Arabia is doing 'wonders' with their trillions. NOT.
Scientific output has grown 11 times faster in Iran than the world average, faster than any other country. A survey of the number of scientific publications listed in the Web of Science database shows that growth in the Middle East – mostly in Turkey and Iran – is nearly four times faster than the world average.
Developed nations like Canada and USA have a spotted record of human/gay/women/environmental rights as well.
So you think my comment on a product developed in a state responsible for the wholesale slaughter and oppression of a large group of people is just a politically charged message of hate? I feel sorry for people like you.
@takotheoktopus well how else do you explain commenting on the politics of a country instead of the value of a product, just because it happens to be developed by people who live in a country you don't like.
A countries business industries play a role in it's politics. A countries politics affects the value of a companies products. Would you have purchased and supported companies that did business with the apartheid state of South Africa? Boycotts, divestment and sanctions played a key role in the dismantling of that oppressive state. Companies realized that it was bad business to work with states like South Africa and the same goes for Israel.
@takotheoktopus do you really think it benefits mankind to "penalize inventors" by boycotting inventions that could aid the entire world in an attempt to punish a government that has nothing to do with the inventors? if so, go ahead and boycott israeli inventions - stay away from most life-saving medications and medical equipment, computers, cell phone - sit in the dark dying of medieval diseases - that'll show 'em.
If you get a critical mass of users in an area, I think Waze could easily outperform ANY static platform. That, and Waze is dynamic. You don't have to buy a new device to get updated maps with new roads.
Waze is an extraordinary social tool, I wish I could convince the team helping them introduce the application in France...so if you are one of them reading this comment please contact me.

Great app. I will use it in the Salt Lake City area. A cool app from a great country that has a long history in technology. I love Israel.
