  • Ampera Testfahrt:

    youtube.com/user/tachy001?feature=mhee#p/a/u/0/7tInWHqHrFk

  • 43 000 EURO?.IS TOO MUCH.HOW TO SAVE THE PLANET WITH THIS PRICE

  • Old, old american engines.

They should bild only electric vehicles.

Maybe Apple can do something :)

  • OPELTECNOLOGI IS DEVELOPED IN EUROPE IN FACT ALL CARS MADE IN EUROPE ARE TECNOLOGYCLI FAR MORE ADVANCED THAN THEYR AMERICAN ANALOGS .THE DESING OF OPEL IS CLEARLY EUROPEAN ONLI CAR HERE IN EUROPEWITH AMERICAN DESING IF FORD AND IS THE UGLIEST CAR IV EVER SEEN IN EUROPE AND NO BODY BUY IT(TALKING ABOUT EFFICIENCI) AMERICAN CARS HERE IN EUROPE ARE USING EUROPEAN ENGINES BECAUSE TIPICAL AMERICAN ENGYNES ARE MORE THAN INEFICIENT THEY ARE USSLES TONS OF GAS FOR LOW SPEED

  • @kingbros360 Wow, easy on the caps!!! BTW, American cars use EU engines in EU because American engines are big and has more power than what is possible to have in EU because the taxes would be way too high, I am talking about displacement and HP tax which is completely retarded!

  • how fast can it run?

  • @Athrunwong ~161km/h

  • Why don't savvy internet geniuses use Wikipedia all the time, and e.g. read the facts about Opel and GM first or use other real sources, lol!

  • Opel became a part of GM in 1929, few years before Hitler took over power in Germany in 1933, and would never allowed this to have happened, so sure not in the late 30s where the war began.

  • toaster ::)). Sorry just a first though that hit me :)

  • yeah i will save up now to get this one) maybe GM will sell it's stake...hands off euroe inefficient guzzlers!

  • All the Ecotec engines were developed by Opel, The new Car of The year winning Insignia was a 100% Opel concept + Opel has the biggest research center in europe, so I belive GM was the one, who stole everything from Opel, and sold it as theyr own in the past, and nowadays too...

  • totally agree with you! opel has a genius rerearch team and their cars are just great. sucks they have so serious financial problems now and their things are being stolen...

  • @19pnd86 well they have financial problems because it is a branch of Chevrolet which is a branch of GM and as you know, GM got so bad it almost went bankrupt but the U.S. government saved it. but Opel is pretty independent itself, built in Germany (i think) and only sold in Europe. wish they were sold in U.S. though!

  • ... As did Chrysler with the 300C on E class chassis, the Crossover on SL chassis and maybe others.(Maybe that's why Mercedes dumped them)

Opel had to struggle for funds because GM emptied the cash registre on a regular basis. That's part of why the quality of the Opel cars went downhill in the 80s-90s, I think.

  • I know your comment is old but I had to reply... No on can deny the research prowess of Opel and its contribution to the GM brand, but you seem to forget that GM poured money into Opel from other profitable ventures to develop the technology because Opel was a losing enterprise for a long time, also parent company doesn't steal technology from a subsidiary, if Opel was bought by GM 2 years ago you could have said that but 80 years is more than enough to justify sharing technology.

  • I haveto admit, you have something to say there.. but also lets not forget, that Gm supposed to PAY Opel for the given technologies.. a few years ago, the bill was 3 MILLION (Euros, dollar doesent matter) and they are still draining money from Opel, even in the worst times, and dont even want to sell it, or pay them for the stuff :S thats murder :S

  • @Sanyey GM has owned 100% of Opel since 1931. How can GM steal what is already theirs?

  • @im1greatman

I have already mentioned, that Opel has its own research center in Rüsselsheim.. so no matter who is the owner, one way or another, what they develope is their own :) + not only one source mentioned, that GM MUST pay for stuff developed or made by Opel.. :D but they refused to pay for years!

  • @Sanyey Regardless of where its build GM owns the company and all the technology. I don't know who fooled you into believing what you do. GM Europe Opel = GM USA Chevrolet. The Opel in essence is an American car with American design cues under a European name. OPEL IS A GM. get over it. /End

  • How many years until the average American can NOT buy one of these then? Oh, maybe 2011? Hmmm, should I hold my breath? I think not. Really tired of hollow promises.

  • the Amperas outcome only depends on the Gm.. If they finally pay the Opel , for all the technology stolen from them, the Ampera would be reality.. Many dont know, but the Ampera project was originally an Opel project, that was stolen by the GM.. Thats why I say: GM can suck my balls! OPEL 4 LIFE!

  • ...Opel is a GM brand....so where does stealing come in? lol. The only thing that GM may have stolen from the original Opel brand would be styling cues, and they are only being used for the Opel brand cars....so what are u speaking of again?

Plus Opel has been a GM brand for years now....American car haters....simply rediculous...lol

  • GM should go down in the toilet, with all its money wasting brands, but first give the Opel back to its true owner : Germany!!! (almost forgot to answer that "stealing" question: I guess there is a reason, that many car-sites, and most of the press media has written about the GM-s stealing (and not paying) habbit.. maybe theyre contract says that they should pay for all the taken technical innovasion and ideas.. but they havent payed a cent)

  • sorry, buddy, but as much as u want it to happen, its not. GM is not going anywhere. Plus, if the Opels use the same powertrain and chassis setups as GM cars do, then how is it stealing if its GM's tech in the first place? Your giving too much credit to where credit is not due. Yes, maybe GM did take a few hits from Opels designs, but everything else beneath it is all GM.

  • GM bought Opel in 1939 (or 1937), but Opel cars are developed in Germany by German Enginneers! GM's "Saturn" use Opel technology, and Cadilac Catera was Opel's car to. It was named as Cadillac due to poor saling results, in order to sale Cadillac to younger people! So basicaly, all Opel technology is developed by Opel in Europe, and GM just use it

  • Actually, they bought it 1929... does that year ring a bell? ;-)

GM made huge profits because Opel was ordered lots of cars and Opel Blitz trucks by the criminal angry midget asshole.

All the opel cars in the past are 100% Opel(Kadett,rekord...).Only the big saloons used to use some American technology (chevy engines),and lately there are excellent isuzu and fiat diesels that are being built in.

And now it's owned by russians and canadians, while LADA has been bought by GM.Kinda funny.

  • Ooo, wow, I failed 10 years only!
