These stencils worked great on my PS3 controller and G36c airsoft gun! I did'nt see this video before I painted but luckily I used Rustolium camo paint. I sanded and washed with isopropyl alcohol and waited 24 hrs between coats.Yes they are very sticky but it's much better than using painters tape and a knife! Well worth the money.
Take my word for it. The stencils DO stick to krylon paint. I repeat, DO NOT USE KRYLON CAMO PAINT. The stencils are kick ass though. The best i have ever seen. I just ordered two more sets. I use them on xbox 360 controllers. I will upload a picture as soon as I am happy with the way one turns out.
Thank you very much for this great instructional! I'm wanting to paint a tent/ trailer in digital camo. do you suggest the same technique for such a large item or should I use a different method?
@MrPhillyChill Thanks a lot! I found a, 24” X 18”, digital stencil, that is thick too.Terrain Phantom carries it. I'll send you a before after pic of the, once black trailer. Hand tough, buddy!
I guess you can disregard that last comment if you are just airsoft users. i wouldn't spend extra money on duracoat for airsoft. use spray paint or what ever for that. For real guns that heat up and go under water ect. Use duracoat firearm finishes.
You should recommend that people use duracoat or cerakote both are much tougher than any kind of pain and will withstand great range of heat and abuse. They also hold up to the elements well. I'm going to order these stencils and try this on one of my rifles. Check out my channel and see what I have done so far with Duracoat.
@joeyXDface The stencils just tend to stick a little more. It might just be cause of the climate in texas. I would just try it out on a random object before you paint you gun.
Could i use darker colors? Like black, grey, etc.

Hey guys, need some help, umm does if u only have 3 colours of ur choice dou still need plastic primer?
Hellou51 9 months ago
@Hellou51 If you are painting plastic, always apply a first coat of primer, it stops the paint from peeling
Painting metal, same thing, you do not want it to peel.
Follow the steps to the last detail and it should turn out fantastic, my gun did

@MrPhillyChill
Well even if the stencils were bigger, you would need alot male stencils. I would probobly uses 4-6 different female stencils and just layer them.
