  • You can not "impose gay marriage on people." At least not in the context of this law. That would mean the government is forcing people to marry members of the same sex. It is legal to be a Christian in this country, that doesn't mean that the government is "imposing Christianity on non-Christians." This is not a very hard concept to understand. I find it shocking that anyone would buy into this ad.

  • "When the public officials who ordinarily defend a challenged state law or appeal a judgment invalidating the law decline to do so...the official proponents of a voter-approved initiative measure are authorized to assert the state's interest in the initiative's validity, enabling the proponents to defend the constitutionality of the initiative and to appeal a judgment invalidating the initiative."

  • Good news, today according to the LA Times "Prop. 8 ruling: State officials can't veto voter-approved measures"

  • I haven't been to church in over a year, I never pray & I curse God's name all the time. However, even I must get on my knees & pray that He will please come down to earth & describe why any form of homosexuality is wrong. Thumbs up if you're like me in that even if you're not Catholic, you still want Him to make the real truth known.

  • I really wish I had my own video camera with sound to make a video on why gay isn't right & how those who think it is need help. As in mental help, its obvious they have a mental sickness that needs desperate attention. True some & even I could say that the devil is the real cause but how many would listen? None, cuz religious views differ too much & until God comes down & says who's right or wrong it's any 1s guess.

  • So now it turns out a GAY Judge was the one who overturned Prop 8.

Sounds like a huge conflict of interest to me! Corrupt to the core.

Don't be fooled the gay agenda is to destroy the family. They will legislate and force religious institutions to accommodate their beliefs. Separation of Church and State, but not from the voting booth!

  • @mediaboyz Really? I would think 72 day marriages by Kim Kardashian is the reason why this 'sacred institution' is be defiled and disgraced? It's people like her who are destroying the family, not loving gay people who want to get married.

  • People never seem to understand that it dose not matter what millions of people vote on. The majority can not take the rights away from the minority. Damn people piss me off

  • youtube.com/watch?v=6V_KiPlZYYQ

  • Prop H8 is legalized Gay-Bashing and anyone who supports it is a BIGOT, plain and simple.

  • @NiteSlayer007 I hear you man, I say YES on 8 also. Your absolutely right when you say fuck faggot freedom. We're all here for you.

  • Shouldn't we all stop worrying about other peoples life and start worrying about things that are more important, like terrorism?

  • @PassionPulp

NO! If the government does not have the power to tell us how to practice proper religion who will? Prop 8 is important for the entire country, for how can the Almighty approve of a nation that allows infidels to worship false idols and Satan? For the sake of our country we must prevent the great Satan from influencing our children. PRAISE THE HOLY LAND PRAI....

Oh, wait this isn't the right forum. Sorry, please ignore this post.

  • lol these angry gays are just mad...

  • But black people and white people don't CHOOSE their race, gays CHOOSE to be gay. It's their choice. Why should we re define marriage just cause a man chooses to be gay now?

  • @cfrank108 Sometimes it's a choice, sometimes it's not. (If you bring up the 'gays can't produce children and the world needs more children' card, I'll smack you in the head with a Russian pipe. If you say that then that means you are saying that infertile couples, old couples, and couples that don't want children can't get married.)

You can choose your religion, and there is no law that states that people from different religious backgrounds can't marry. So there. You've been TOLLED~!

  • @cfrank108 I'm sorry but when have you ever CHOSEN who you're attracted to? You like who you like, nothing you can do about it. No one choses the person or the gender they like, it just happens.

  • @cfrank108

Actually there's not enough medical or physiological evidence to prove a person chooses to be homosexual.

And marriage has been redefined numerous times. People who think it's purely Judeo-Christian law don't realize marriage exists in numerous non Christian/Jewish or Islam cultures and has predated Judaism for over thousands of years. Very rarely was sexuality even a factor, due the the political influence marriage had.

  • Yes on 8 is yes on hate, plain and simple...you know, back in my day them there colered folk couldn't marry us here white folk...seems pretty backwards now, huh?

  • I  PROP 8!! AND I HATE YOU GAVIN NEWSOM WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!!

  • Sodomy is disgusting

  • @24AFP

Welcome to Nature. It can be both beautiful and disgusting

  • @pf91rodman man on man i mean that causes AIDS

  • @24AFP Same on a man and a woman.

  • "imposed" same sex marriage? they're making it sound like it's something compulsory for all citizens to participate in.

if you don't like gay marriage, don't do it.

  • lol gay marriage. next thing you know people are gonna want to get married to animals? this is why I support Fasicism none of this liberal hippie whinning...

  • Just because something is legal doesn't mean you have to accept it. oh poor conservative white middle class suburban families! someone else besides them has the right to not be refused marriage! boo hoo hoo!

  • No...

Just no, all arguments for prop 8 were handfully refuted in the court documents.

You guys failed, badly YAY FOR THE BALANCE OF POWERS IN THE THREE BRANCHES!!!!!!!!!

  • good video. for sure (^_^)

  • YEAH!!!! The christian right wing-nuts FAILED :D

You cannot vote against a fundamental right such as marriage !!!!!

A MAJOR DEFEAT FOR ALL THE BIGOTS IN THE USA......ABOUT TIME!!!!

  • UNCONSTITUTIONAL

  • Whoa, ridiculous of EPIC proportions. You prop 8 supporters seriously need to get over yourselves and let people be happy. Gay marriage won't harm you, your kids, friends, family or god. Don't like gay marriage?? Then do't get married to someone of the same sex.

  • Overturned!

  • God hates gays right?

But god creates everything though right?

Everyone one of us. Isn't that true?

So if god hates gays why can't he stop creating them?

Scientist proved that people are born gay if that is so any chance that you vote Yes people who claim God hates gays are completely and utterly wrong.

  • @sharondoyle37 where do you get your science? scientists NEVER proved that. There is no 'gay gene.' You're not genetically programmed to be gay. Just like someone isn't genetically programed to be smart or funny. They are caused by your environment. Not your genome.

And as for the god thing: Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination.(Leviticus 18:22 KJV).

Lastly, there aren't even that many gays. Aprox. only 3% of the population!

  • @sharondoyle37 It's all about the freedom to choose, buddy. He doesn't like their decision, but he does love the people.

  • Umm...you guys do know that Prop 8 was deemed unconstitutional, right? Epic win on our end, quite a fail on yours. :)

  • @JadeHeartOfFire yeah. Let the faggotts marry and burn in hell!!!

  • @mikeyrobins022585 I find your bigotry quite humorous. And you know the best thing about it? It doesn't change a damn thing. Have a nice day. :)

  • @JadeHeartOfFire

Really? Another "activist" Judge overturned the will of the entire state of California and the appeal is forthcoming. Interesting I've read the constitution & I didn't find anything about "gays" in the Constitution or marriage for that matter.

  • @mediaboyz Really now? Apparently you haven't read the entire constitution, then. According to the fourteenth amendment, no state may create or enforce a law that limits the privileges of citizens. Citizens may only be deprived of said privileges if they break a law. It's not against the law to be gay and marriage is a privilege. Therefore, restricting that is unconstitutional...not to mention it's also just plain discrimination.

  • @JadeHeartOfFire

Right so lets get rid of all the laws, because it limits the privileges of criminals, joe to practice polygamy, etc We can't discriminate against somebody who is wrong, can we?

  • @mediaboyz Now you're just twisting my words around. Like I said, the only way the justice system may limit the privileges of a citizen is if they break the law, so while the laws do restrict the rights of criminals, it's justified because they broke the law. And the latter half of your argument makes no sense. Jailing a criminal is not discrimination and being gay isn't wrong. Honestly, put down your bible for one minute. Now tell me one non-religious reason why gay marriage is wrong.

  • @mediaboyz But is polygamy truly wrong?

If your a Mormon it isn't.

    If killing someone wrong?

All ethics are relative. Discriminating against something simply because it does not agree with your values is sheer tyranny. This is a free country, not a monarchy and nothing you can say will make it into one.

  • @susideguy I don't believe comparing this to polygamy and murder is right. Being gay is just how someone is, it has nothing to do with religion or personal morals/beliefs.

  • @channyandseddiefan But is it wrong?

Ethics are all relative, personally i believe that there is no such thing as wrong in a literal sense. I don't care if your gay, you deserve rights.

  • @susideguy Is being black wrong? Is being Jewish wrong? Is having red hair wrong? Is being gay wrong?

These all seem like the same question to me. Of course homosexuals deserve equal rights.

  • @channyandseddiefan I"M AGREEING WITH YOU LOL!

  • @susideguy Haha sorry, I'm agreeing with you too, I was just making a point to anyone who disagrees with us. (:

  • @mediaboyz

Hey mate, you do realise you're only undermining your own cause by bringing up polygamy, right? Because if you keep talking about it, California might well go the way of Utah. Not that I really care, being an Australian who is apathetic about polygamy anyway, but I just thought I'd point out that warning your fellow Californians against the possibly slippery slopes might well activate one of them.

  • Yep, better to let sleeping dogs lie, I think... After all, your state does not (yet) have a whole lot of polygamous people demanding the right to practise polygamous marriage and you wouldn't want to be the one to give them the idea, would you?

  • @mediaboyz You don't have an argument, you call him "activist" simply because he was acting on something you disagree with morally. Your arguments had no grounds in the courts, they'll fail when the case reaches the supreme court, end of story. Also the constitution didn't mention slavery, terrorism, and globalization yet these are allt hings we deal with.

  • @mediaboyz Who gives a fuck. You act like someone is going to force you to participate in gay marriage. If you don't want to be involved then don't marry your sex. You have no right to force someone else to do what you feel is morally acceptable. It would be like telling you that can't marry outside your own race. Stop this bigotry

  • @mediaboyz

??? Reading the constitution is one thing, reading and UNDERSTANDING the declaration, preamble, constitution, bill of rights and the following amendments is a whole other thing. Defining marriage between a man and a woman is religious based. And article 1 of the bill of rights prohibits any law impeding free exercise of religion. If a church permits same sex marriage the Government can infringe, even if the entire states votes no.

  • @JadeHeartOfFire Haha whatta ignorant immature little prick you are. Some win huh when the bill passed? Looks like little faggots like yourself aren't welcome after all. Although I gotta admit your numbers are rising the day it gets too out of hand I personally will be 1 of those who step it up to the annihilation of your diseased species. You're a plague that must be dealt with, a lost cause that's beyond cure.

  • @sodapop554 Wow. You seriously need to seek professional help. You're volunteering to kill thousands of innocent people if our population gets "out of hand", based simply on the fact that we love differently than you. Vile, ignorant, hateful people like you are the sick ones, not us gay people. Stop humping your bible for one minute and realize what the hell you're saying.

  • @JadeHeartOfFire It's not love that you're feeling, if that's what you honestly think then I do feel some sympathy for you. *NOTE: I'd only volunteer to kill thousands if they couldn't be rehabilitated. Of course you do realize the government doesn't think that way. They're allowing you to be homos for a reason. Since that'll cut down on population so they can establish their world government with less recoil from the public. It amazes me how many people are ignorant to the truth.

  • @sodapop554 I don't even know how to respond to that. Not only are you a bigoted fuck, but you're conspiracy theorist as well. I think you're just out of your damn mind. Enjoy your insanity. Call me when the government comes out and admits that they caused 9/11 because they love Islam more than America.

  • @JadeHeartOfFire Lol you use "bigoted" like I'm against a particular nationality. To be against homo's isn't discriminatory. Races were around since time began, homos are somewhat newer. Although they do go back to the 1300's they sure as hell weren't the 1st humans on Earth. Additionally yes the government did plan 9/11, what terrorist group would stop at that? I only believe what I do because I want to save as many as I can before it's too late.

  • Bigotry #FAIL

  • SUCKERS! PROP 8 JUST OVERTURNED

  • my neighbors got gay married and now i cant live my life anymore. im shooting myself and my family look for us on the news.

  • @FlyinSpaghettiMnstr7

    You sick fag

  • @AlucardZero

I'm not white or christian and I still don't believe that queers should be allowed to get married. I can care less what some liberals think( I'd like to see them get in my face and tell me I'm wrong). I agree with what WhitepwrItalian1 says. It's amazing how you choose to overlook that. People like you always try to find a backdoor to things just to suit your beliefs. Life's not about being fair or unfair, it is just. If you have a reply, put it on my channel comments.

  • I hope all of you retards one day figure out that you don't choose to be gay or straight. It's all genetic. Those that don't believe me are ignorant fools.

  • Truthfully I am 100% atheist, I still believe being gay is WRONG. No matter how you believe we were put on this earth, there is a reason girls have vagina's and men have penis's. If men were meant to be with men then we would have vagina's, and vice verse with women. As well as the fact that if men were meant to be with men they could have babies....

  • @WhitepwrItalian1 How does that make it morally wrong, though? It might be biologically offbeat, but no moreso than protected or oral sex.

  • @WhitepwrItalian1 You;re a disgrace to atheists everywhere. Marriage is not a love thing anymore, it's a union for shared benefits, why can't they get it too? It doesn't affect you what so ever.

  • @WhitepwrItalian1 K, doesn't mean you have any authority to tell someone else how to live there lives

  • People are so ignorant...why gay marriage just be allowed? In what way is it bothering you if two people who love each other are allowed to get married? it has no effect on anybody except those two people.

  • I can't wait for all the bigoted churches to be burned to the ground, and schools will be built in their place.

A future without religion will burn bright, and strong well into the future. May reason prevail over bigoted myths!

  • ...

    Why?

Why do you feel the need to hurt people?

Why do you feel the need to punish those that have done no wrong?

    Why?

  • @NiteSlayer007

    @NiteSlayer007

Gay is the proper term but I sense your frustration as I was not a recipient of tolerance from gays because I voted Yes on Prop 8. I am also glad Prop 8 passed.

Contrary to what some claim on here, not all gays are Pro marriage I know some the last thing they want is marriage.

  • @mediaboyz

Umm... why on Earth would gay people want to prevent other gay people from getting married? That smakes of stark-raving stupidity if you ask me (but then again, so does this whole, "ZOMG, gay marriage will undermine the institution of marriage!!!" malarky)

  • @NiteSlayer007 You sir, are scum.

  • @rcflight13

    Go fuck yourself liberal

  • @NiteSlayer007 So I'm Liberal because I believe in equality and logical thinking? Come on, you think anyone would choose to live like this? Why don't we just start banning people with red hair from marrying while we're at it.

  • @NiteSlayer007

Lol. Your yes vote counted for shit on prop 8. I'm proud to say that the system still weeds out idiots like you. Cheers on your useless "yes" vote. I hope it keeps you warm at night.

  • @AndrewDeLong

It did count, otherwise there wouldn't have been a ballot to begin with. No1 thought that Prop 8 was gonna be overturned anytime soon. Unfortunately it was. I don't like it and I still don't accept queers.

btw, it must feel good to run your mouth behind a computer where you're nice and safe. The last time some hippie shithead tried to tell me that I was wrong, I made him eat his words.

  • @NiteSlayer007

Lol. Face to face eh? 264 Emery Rd. Mooers N.Y. 12959.

That's my address. Now, if you don't mind standing up and backing your words...well, we both know you wont. Fact is, your vote was effectively useless, it was over turned, gays don't give a fuck if you accept them now, and those words I just served you....oh how bitter they must taste.

I eagerly await your next (humorous) reply.

Silly idiot, conversations are for people with brains.

  • Oh, and just in case you do grow a pair, and decide to travel 3,000+ miles over a youtube comment, just remember, this "hippie" lives in the northern woods of New York state, and always has a 30-06 locked and loaded. I only hope that if you do decide to stop by, you come prepared with the suit you wish to be buried in.

  • @AndrewDeLong Pt.1

1st off(and you clearly know this),I don't live in New York and I'm not gonna travel over a comment just because you insist. You know you wouldn't either so don't kid yourself(unless you're that retarded).

2nd, I've seen your videos and it's hard for me to take you serious(you look like a weenie, fact). Ever heard of working out? idk why you would send me your address, I never asked for it nor do I give a shit if you still live like a pilgrim. I think it's cuz you have too

  • @NiteSlayer007 Pt.2

much to prove to people. You prob got burned up because I said I made some idiot eat his words. Just like most people, If some1 pisses you off with their views and get outta line, you're gonna show them you don't take that shit. You make it seem like I go around fucking people up. I stand up for whatever I believe in when I have to, whether people agree with me or not.

nice rifle and nice way to expose yourself on youtube. I'm sure talking like that is totally ok *sarcasm*

  • @NiteSlayer007

    Lol.

    1) I love the hypocrisy. You say that I speak from a safe location behind a computer. Well Jack, I sure as hell hope you have a mirror, seeing as you need to look in one right about now.

    2) Combining that with the fact that you said you made someone eat his words allows me to logically infer your intent is violent, not intellectual.

    3) That said, I was merely stating that I possess a weapon and the intent to use it in self defense if the need should arise.

    continued next

  • cont...

    4) Your view is old world and quickly dying, which is why a court of law effectively rendered it null and void, as is expected to happen again in the ninth circuit.

    5) Thanks for watching my videos. That tells me that you actually got serious for a moment there, trying to size me up. Why else would you watch them. Lol, I can see through you like glass.

    6) Well, I'm just laughing at you at this point. Idk, I just thought you should know that.

  • @AndrewDeLong

I'll post my comment(s) on your page( no need to have drafts of our replies here)

  • @NiteSlayer007

Check your page...you have my responses.

  • "Force on us gay marriage"? Yes, because allowing gay people to get married is the same as forcing every straight couple to marry gay people. What about interracial marriages? Are those "forced on you" as well?

    -IMP ;) :)

  • so telling children about gay marriage will make them gay?

    oh, okay

just like telling them broccoli is good for you will make them love it

or saying murdering people is a blast will make me want to kill someone

    okay, i get it now

  • @koolaide77 lol

  • im glad prop 8 passed. I voted yes on it. marriage is between and a woman. god made adam and eve. not adam and adam

  • @jenn1ifer so what if i follow a different religion and don't believe in the bible? (which by the way is the whole point of America : freedom)

  • @jenn1ifer God isn't real and the real saying is "adam and steve, not adam and eve". Get your shit straight.

  • @jenn1ifer So if we don't believe in god then what. Oh that's right, you made a law that restricts a group of people from being able to marry. That's cool

  • screw this. allowing other people to be happy will not affect you, it will not make you go to hell, you probably won't even see it. what if YOU suddenly weren't allowed to get married?

    yeah, and I'm a christian.

  • California judges imposed gay marriage? You can't impose it because if you don't want one, you don't have to get one! That's not imposing.

  • @danmol78 People can die of vaginal penetrative sex too you know.

Do you think giving everyone the right to marry whoever they choose (among consenting adults) would increase homosexual activity?

  • @danmol78 Childbirth is also hugely dangerous, and we can reduce that risk by making everyone have c-sections. Should we do that?

  • same sex marriage should be allowed!, we should have our human rights to love who the hell we want to love. media won't get on the news and tell how many people agree with it because thay know people will fight it and more people will end up agreeing with it so there for thay speak nothing of it on news

  • Uh not too bright are you? This whole video is over a VOTE. The MAJORITY was against same sex marriage in a state where there is the largest population of homosexuals in the country. So that should tell you more people do NOT agree with it.

  • Umm you must be the one not to bright because last time i checked i never said anything about what this video was about. you have rights, and i have rights. my rights should be treated the same cause im human to. media never talks anything about it because most people in the world will agree with it. how am i any less human with rights just because im a lesbian? thats screwed up, aint no one gonna tell me who the hell to love. how would you like it if someone told u, u can't marry???

  • Once again MOST people do NOT agree with it. Yeesh. See vote was taken, more people voted to prevent same sex marriage then voted for it. You do know meaning of MOST votes right? And love whomever you want ababybooboo, and who says you can't get married? I have no more rights then you do. You have the exact same rights as I. No more, no less.

  • thats just in that state. if everyone were to take votes on mostly all states it would be different is what i am saying. a lot of people say gays can't get married, not all but a lot. i honestly do not like to argue with someone about this topic because it's two different stories. all im saying, is i have a huge heart on me with a lot of love. i am respectful and nice to all, i love my fiancee with all my heart. so for us to have our rights to marry should be allowed to in most states

  • You know booboo. I didn't see you were 17, and I tend to come down far too heavy for younger generation. I can tell you care deeply. And that is a good thing. So I will give you hope for your future. Right now, same sex marriage is in the minority opinion. If it can't pass in Cali, it will do worse say where I live, or Texas. However, like all things, things can change, your generation is coming on, and one day you will be in charge. And I have no doubt passionate kid like you will change it.

  • i do really honestly care vary deeply. some people just don't understand what it's like being gay, it's honestly not a choice. i've known im gay since i was 6 years old and it's something i've never been able to help, i've tried and it's not a choice it's a matter of how i feel. i really wish more people could understand it, but sadly not all never will. somethings are only meant for only some to know in life. i wish you the best in life, take care!

    -Adrienne

  • See? How hard was that? That is what the Gay community needs. More like you. The softer approach works everytime. Don't worry. May take a little while, but gay marriage is inevitble. No matter what crusty old people like me say. Keep voting democrat!

  • @ababybooboo I don't know if I am confused about your comment, but are you trying to say that the media is against homosexuals?

  • Marriage has always been between a man and a woman. Whether you like it or not!

  • "What does that mean? Are inter-racial marriages 'taught' in schools?"

    Those are heterosexual marriages.

  • @ma7799 oh dear, you completely missed my point. If we don't hae to 'teach' straight marraiges, why would we 'teach' gay marraige. Just let the kids realise or be told by parents that people can like either gender, that's how the world works.

One day the kids will know this, whether you like it or not

BTW, marraige has not always been between one man and one woman, that's an outright lie

  • "BTW, marraige has not always been between one man and one woman, that's an outright lie "

No; you are full of shit. Quit trying to make fags and dykes feel sacred.

  • @ma7799 Why would anyone want to feel 'sacred'? That's just an insecurity that religious nuts have.

You honestly think no societies have ever had marriages other than one man one woman?

A quick googling will destroy your point, sorry. Its a shame you know nothing about something that you feel so qualified to discuss. Unfortunately there are enough people out there like you that innequality can reign a little longer

  • seriously what is wrong with gay marriage you cant help who you love its not a choice its just how you feel im Bisexual and perfectly happy being that way and if i wanna dat and marry a girl it should be allowed prop 8 to me is being racist iits not right god has nothing to do with it HE MADE gays the way they are i have one question DO YOU HAVE ABSOLUTE proof of god no you do not so dont say he thinks gays are bad

  • Who do You Want Guard Your Little "Lambs" a Wolf or the Shepard...?

  • I suppose we should tolerate those who are into bestiatility, necrophelia, etc too. Maybe I should be allowed to marry my Dog but you guys didnt ask about this did you as you try to redefine what marriage is?

You got it backwards we are tolerant of you, yet gays are not tolerant of God's definition of marriage. Lets be clear here there was no tolerance of Gays and my beliefs and decision to vote YES on 8.

  • Noone thinks you should be allowed to marry animals or dead bodies for a simple reason - they are not consenting. easy

So let me get this straight, you can deny equal rights to one section of society based on God, and then if you get criticised it's homosexuals that are being intolerant. You could use that argument to support any prejudice.

eg. If someone says its wrong for the KKK to do what they did, they are being intolerant of God's will, which the KKK said they had on their side.

  • This isn't a legal issue, its a religious moral issue. Bottom line is you think gay relationships and marriage is OK. We don't. Just like we probably both agree that someone who murders is wrong and they are punished. Oh wait we just discriminated against the murder. We can't do that, they have rights.....

  • @mediaboyz

Yes, cause America was founded on one religious belief and any others were immediately torn down, than burned at the stake....

    Oh no, wait.

    It wasn't.

Marriage is a legal issue. Married couples have rights that dating couples do not have.

It has nothing to do with religion.

And how does Same-sex marriage equate to murder? I mean, really?

  • @mediaboyz This is in reply to "Just like we probably both agree that someone who murders is wrong and they are punished" If someone kills someone they hurt someone. If someone marrys someone, what harm does it do? Would you vote for a bill that allowed slavery? Would you vote for a bill that made eating shellfish illegal? Would you vote for a bill that said that if a woman is raped her raper must marry her and never divorce her These are examples of 'morality' in the Bible.

  • @mediaboyz

Comparing murder to two gay people marrying is so twisted. Gay marriage doesn't hurt anyone, murder does.

Guess what? This is a secular government. Religion has no place in public policy.

  • @mediaboyz

This is totally a legal issue:

A constitutional system of government isn't about whatever the majority want, whenever they want it. No portion of the population in a constitutional system gets to "vote" about whether rights afforded in that constitution can be categorically withheld from some other portion of the population. You can support a constitutional amendment if you want to change what it says, but you don't get to vote in changes yourself.

It's just that simple, neat huh?

  • @mediaboyz "This isn't a legal issue, its a religious moral issue." No, try again. This was a public referendum to change the law, not religious doctrine. Try to live in the real world for a second, not Bible land. Murder takes a person's life and victimizes all his/her loved ones? What real world harm comes of giving a CIVIL marriage certificate to a gay couple who already exists and will continue to be together whether you give them said marriage license or not?

  • @mediaboyz Murderers are dangerous criminals who literally ruin lives. There is absolutely no comparison to a loving, committed gay couple. By the way, this ad is misleading. The lawsuits and loss of tax exempt status alluded to were cases of discrimination in a place or institution of public accommodation-already illegal. The school lessons were about diversity in family dynamics. No sexuality or sexual issues were "taught."

  • @firthio2 they can love and do what the want...just no marriage don't like it well don't worry there will one day be gay marriage forced down our throats and you gays will win the "battle".

  • @fakingay I'm not gay btw.

I think the best way to go on this issue is actually for the state not to recognise marriage at all. Any couple could get a civil union, which would be the state's recognition and have all the legal benefits etc. Marraige would be entirely separate and just between couples and their churches.

  • @fakingay 'gay marriage forced down our throats'

I'm sorry you don't always get your way. Learn to accept it, it will help you in life. The US doesn't work in a purely majority decision basis - it doesn't matter if everybody wants segregation, its unconstitutional so wouldn't happen again.

  • @firthio2 I love my sister. I want to get married to her.

  • I must admit, you got owned by firthio2. He's also right about this being the Plessy vs. Ferguson. Whether you like it or not, our nation is changing from one bound by superstition and illogical thinking to one that will think twice before trampling the rights of a minority. No one denies that, if only those under the age of forty had voted, the constitution of California would not have been reworded. And those, my dear friend, are the future leaders of this beloved country.

  • @mediaboyz "gays are not tolerant of God's definition of marriage". You're right; marriage is a completely religious ceremony. It's not like getting married gives you any LEGAL rights, right? No insurance benefits or homeowner's benefits? No, it's all religious...

And before you mention Civil Unions, do some research into the rights afforded married couples but denied in civil unions. There are many to review.

    -IMP ;) :)

  • check out gay family values on youtube. do some research to see who really is affected by this....

  • Always and forever - YES on 8!

  • sad when discrimnation and hatred wins

  • Yes, the pro-gay marriage activists never go away.

  • Ignorance is bliss. So very sad. These people probably still believe in lynching.

  • wow! even animals are smarter than= stupid gay&lesbi ,you will never see two male or two famale animal to live together, only stupid-stupid gay&lesbi live together

  • actually you do.

  • I'm sorry, but as a gay man myself, they are bold faced lying in this add. The church can't loose their tax exempt status from legalizing Gay Marrage. this just reinforces the fact that people in general not just the christians or mormons, but straight people in general are just afraid of things they don't understand and use it as an excuse to segragate and opress.

  • "Those who seek to change the foundation of marriage should not be allowed to pretend that those who defend the ancient order are trampling on civil rights".

  • I believe our system of CHECKS AND BALANCES in the United States was inspired. Thank goodness we have separate branches of government. This TV ad implies that the 4 judges decided on a whim to make same-sex marriage legal. There was a case brought before them. It is the responsibility of the judges to make sure the laws of the land are constitutional. Thank goodness we have a separate judicial branch that has the power to overturn unfair laws.

  • I absolutely hate mormons. If one came to my door I would spit in their face. May they all go to hell.

  • I love Mormons. I am sad about the LDS church's heavy involvement in Prop 8. I hate ignorance. If Mormon missionaries came to your door, don't spit in their face but explain to them your reasons for disliking the church. Tell them not to hate gay and lesbian people. A good discussion will go much further than a spit in the face.

  • That is very nice of you to be so kind, but I do think we are talking about hard core people who have nothing to offer but their hate. I have tried to explain to mormons what segregation really means, but they could care less. After the hugely ugly slanders made against gay people with their Prop 8 commercials I have no sympathy or tolerance for mormons anymore. There is no difference between mormons and the Taliban.

  • I understand your anger. I am really sorry. There are many hard core Mormons who are not ready to listen to another's view point. I hope that I am not one of them.

  • You really are a good person. If it wasn't for people like you the mormon church would be nothing but the nazi party. I am soooooo sorry that you are stuck with stuck with the mormon church. There are so many other good churches out there that have beautiful viewpoints on human love. I hope you don't suffer because of your openness. I am afraid most mormons consider you a traitor.

  • Yeah there is, talibans are lesser heretics mormons are greater heretics

  • You speak as if homosexuals don't slander, curse, swear while making flammatory and hateful youtube videos in the process. The results of Prop 8 showed exactly how "loving, peaceful and tolerant" homosexuals claim to be.

  • In California where it all went down Mormons are 2% of the voting block. The blacks and hispanics were the ones who helped make this PROP 8 pass yet the gays like to focus on Mormons and didn't want to go march on the black (or hispanic) churches in downtown LA. So for whatever reason they continue to vent on the Mormons when there are plenty of other Christian groups that voted Yes on 8.

  • The mormons were the biggest advertisers. Look on You Tube almost all the ads against gay marriage were done by mormons. If mormons did not want a backlash then they should not have been involved. Mormons made it a personal crusade to destroy gay marriages, pumping millions of dollars into their hateful propaganda. May they rot in hell where they belong.

  • Homosexual "backlash" consists of grossly representations and lies concerning the LDS Church, as shown in many youtube videos. Doing such isn't going to change people's minds about Prop8. Your backlash isn't keeping anyone from sleeping at night.

  • Prop 8 won & Marriage is between a Man and a Woman, like it or not!

  • yeah it did. The Plessy vs Ferguson of our time.

  • The mormons funded 70% of the advertisements. Lots of blacks and hispanics voted for gay marriage.

  • gay marriage will happen

  • "Separation of Church and state"

Actually mediaboyz, it is YOU who are leaving your church and forcing your beliefs on the state. Please, tell us all how two men in vermont are keeping you from worshipping your god however you like? Tell us how two men in massachusets are keeping you from "believing" whatever you choose?

Are you going to use that bogus case of the fundie doctor who refused to treat lesbians? Lots of californians have apollogized for voting yes because they were LIED to. :)

  • Proposition Eight won, like it or not!

  • I think you got it backwards buddy: More like you guys oppressing religious institutions by using the state system to force beliefs on us. Separation of Church and State.

  • yeah exactly which is why prop h8 should not have been voted for or against

why should a majority vote for minority rights?

  • I have news for you big guy, current situations do not help your case,.When one the most liberal states in the union bans gay marriage, you're in trouble. Keep telling yourself otherwise.

  • Well, thankfully for myself, I live in Canada.

I just hope some of our sensibility reaches the legions of deadweights y'all apparently have cooped up down there.

You haters will lose eventually. It's only a matter of time (I like to think that we live in a world where good triumphs over evil) and then my American friends can wed like everybody else :D

  • Yes on Stupid!

  • YES on YOU hanging yourself.
