It does not represent the average Buddhist temple and what is called a museum is just a collection of expensive items that have little cultural or religious value. The temple was accused of illegally keeping baby elephants in unsuitable conditions. If you want to experience a "real" Sri Lankan Buddhist temple I suggest you visit Kelaniya, Bellanwila and other temples in the outskirts of the city.

@paraanuradha While it would've been nice to have Sinhalese and Tamil as background music, what does it matter. Tamils are as much Sri Lankans as Sinhalese are. We should be proud of our rich diverse and united cultures. Also, temples can have any language background music. They are places of inclusion, not exclusion for a particular language and race.

You liked the Kottu? you should try the 'Cheese Kottu' the next time you come. Different places have their own variants. I like the ones at the shops in front from MC (in bambalapitiya) one place puts a whole bottle of milk into it which makes it really cheesy (the place is called Bilal). And the place just right of it is pretty good as well and has their own unique taste as well.
