Bill Frist is a terrific human being. He may have thought about running for President, but he has proven that there are a lot of ways to help mankind. Look at what he has done since leaving the Senate, such as teaching a graduate class at Princeton, co-chairing One Vote 08, Chairing the Survive to Five Project of Save the Children, becoming a partner in Cressey & Co, being appointed to various boards. I think he doesn't need anyone's sympathy. He is doing just fine.
Poor guy. He had presidential aspirations when he found himself the Speaker who was representing a party that was suddenly overtly hijacked by AIPAC, CFR, Trilateral Commission more than ever. A sycophant & willing participant himself, he probably had no idea it would come so far out of the closet & he'd have to dash his presidential fantasies for being a leader when it happened. Ah, well.
