It's extremely unlikely Rand Paul would run in 2012 having just finished a gruelling Senate campaign -- even if it were on the same ticket as his father. But 2016 gives him time to educate his fellow Senators, forge relationships, and prove his mettle. I would love to see a Ron Paul/Judge Napolitano ticket for 2012.

Have you seen Judge Nap. hold his own against the likes of Bill O'Reilly? Laughed-off Bills pointed but inane attacks, and then made Bill look pretty dumb with his encyclopedic knowledge of the law and the Constitution.

Continued: Fuel efficiency isn't something the gov't just dictates, and out of the heavens is lowered the engine of tomorrow-- fuel efficiency means changing what we think of as a car. The design of the car is going to have to become more like an encased motorcycle (see BMW 'Simple'), with passengers seated behind the driver rather than next to one another.

I wish we could just outlaw these speculators that drive up cost just by saying the cost is going to go up. What the President needs to do immediately is open the nation's oil reserves; this is why we have them.

What we need to do in the long term (50 years) is construct interstate vacuum tube maglev trains to reduce gas consumption (on the ground and in the air).

We also need to come to reality about aerodynamic standards for all new vehicles as the primary path to fuel efficiency.

I have yet to see them come right out and call it like it is and tell the people why the government is doing what it's doing. I know and they must surely know. I guess it's that word 'conspiracy theorist' that bugs them.
