My take on it is that hypnosis is very relaxing and restful. I wouldn't say that 30 minutes will replace 8 hours of natural sleep, but it does provide a lot of rest.
You say there is no hypnotised feeling?? Thats not true, iv been under hypnosis before, its great, its like being really relaxed (like sleep) But yet being aware of everything around you. There is definatley a feeling to hypnosis. If there wasn't , how would people know it was any diffrent to Not being in hypnosis ?
I said there is no specific hypnotized feeling. Some people feel heavy, some people feel light, some people feel relaxed, some people feel tingly, and YES, some people feel NO DIFFERENT when in the state of hypnosis than when in the normal waking state and they will swear that they weren't hypnotized when they definitely were.
As one is Falling Asleep, they pass through a hypnagogic state. These are the Alpha & Theta levels of consciousness. They are the same brain frequencies as hypnosis, and yes, you can definitely learn at an unconscious level in these states.
However, once one is fully asleep in the Delta level of consciousness, you are NOT hearing or learning. It is the period when the brain disconnects from the external world to obtain rest.
Kids who actually fall asleep in class usually flunk out.
thank you for this video. It took my fear away from getting "stuck" in hypnosis. I was scared that when i was hypnotized i would stay there forever lol but i'm glad this answered my concerns. thanks!
No, all hypnosis is not speech induced. Two thirds of the time that a person is watching TV they are in the Alpha State (hypnosis). When you are deep in a memory, or using your imagination to visualize, you are also in the Alpha or hypnotic state.
Chickens and monkeys cannot be hypnotized. Certain animals have an "immobility response" to certain stimuli. Some people mistakenly call that hypnosis - it is NOT!
I heard that a half hour of hypnosis is worth 8 hours of sleep. Have you heard anything about that?

Yes, I've heard that.

What's your take on it? I wouldn't mind replacing 8 hours of sleep with a half hour of hypnosis even if it was only once a week
