  • I love these videos man! So many cool drills and ideas and awesomeness! I dont do shuai chiao, I do Judo, but I can see how heaps of these'll help!

  • WoW!

  • would shuaijiao help my judo?

    just curious.

  • Alot of shuaijiao is similar to judo and a lot of shuaijiao is different than judo. In any case, any grappling style will help your judo, but you will have to tailor what you've learned to fit the rules.

  • The use of Pi Tiaor is for acceleration or what we called 'Jin', whereas Da Bangzi and other hard equipments are for weight training and holding of weight. They all enhance your basic techniques which are essential in throw and grap.

  • I believe you train your forearms and grip for throwing with these exercises, plus the foot work for them

  • This is correct, belt cracking exercices grip and fore arm strength.with the footwork.Your tendons in your shoulders and elbows get a great workout from this also. The goal of this exercise/form is throws...its a great workout either way.

  • Relax and tighten relax and tighten mmm sounds like a way to gain greater speed in striking...grip and let go grip and let go might help in changing hands to throw...grab and release grab and release ways to rip and control muscles! Our system of Shuai Chiao revolves around throws, locks, strikes, and kicks. We use belt cracking after learning the different forms, we do free style three min cracking with one min breaks. Doing rounds is better than actual sparring for conditioning purposes.

  • forms for throwing

  • no!!!this trainnin give u more force while u punchin or fightin

  • no. it is for throwing.

  • hell no!!try it if don't believe me cause i done this method before.

  • i know, im learning shiao jiao and we use belt cracking to improve the speed and power of our throws.. maybe you use it for something else.. but the techniques in this video are for perfecting throws.. how would cracking a belt improve your punching?

  • Interesting debate.

I belive that in the boxing definition of a punch, the Pitiao is of little use in developing force.

All the movements you see are Shuaijiao movements that are either throws or pushes and pulls in service of throws. The Pitiao assist in developing coordination and force in those movements.

That is just my opinion though

  • what does this train?
