great question! personal thing... milk doesn't always agree with me. but, i have read that milk can be a great post workout recovery meal. only thing i'll say is almond milk has less calories, less sugar, less carbs then milk. but milk has more protein... so again gotta figure out what your body needs.
when you consume dairy it metabolizes to acid (throws off your ph balance)
when your body becomes more acidic it goes into self defense mode and stores the acid in fat cells otherwise the acid could eat at your vital organs if you can't cut dairy out completely, you need to balance that acid out with more alkaline foods (greens)
same rule for meats.....meats = more acid = more fat
