One F-22 raptor is capable of easily taking out those old birds. Iran also has a few French Mirages. The Russian SU-24/25s will be more of a challange but not much more with Iranians in the cockpit.

I admit, those Iranian F-14s might be a match for F-15s, would be a match for F-16s, F/A-18 Hornets and F/A-18E Super Hornets, and they would certainly prove problematic for B-52s and B-1s, but if the F-22 is operational in time for any such war, then Iran wouldn't stand much a chance.

Westerns (or non muslims) are regarded as infidels and their society as beeing inferior. However, if it comes to things like warplanes you use almost entirely planes from the USA. Why do you not rely on your own engineers inspired by "your god" which should yield even better planes than these from the west? Furthermore, if you are ill the doctors give you medicine most certainly invented by the western world (antibiotics and so on)(propably even to the highest religious leaders).

However, if you look at Universities, you see a lot of students from the middle east. Apparently there must be some reason for that. I would assume that, on average, the living standards is far higher than in the muslim countries.
