Of course the safety in the nano is laughable to the cars by the ones in North America, but compare this to a motorcycle in anywhere of the world, do the have air bags or any other softy features? No of course not. Why would the restrict a car like this, people are well aware of the safety concerns and for people who drive motorcycles, obviously don't put safety as a #1 priority.
They'll never let us have these in the US. Blah blah blah, not safe etc. This would do everything I need to do like go to work and fetch groceries and go to the beach on the weekend.
Interest groups like ins. companies will scream. "It won't take a hit from a Honda safely blah blah blah."
Im getting one, it be in the UK the end of this year, with extras:] for example air conditioning, extra wind screen wiper, four lug nuts plus power steering.. I would imagine it would cost a few 100 pounds more I worked it out nano would cost 1,600 pounds not bad for a brand new car. but i think it would cost a little more when it comes to the UK. great for city driving going shopping top speed of the nano is 65 mph. nano are also working on a high breed version.
With so many people interested in the new Tata Nano (Rs 1-lakh) car, If you're asking how to find a dealer or how to import it in your country here is the answer:
Seek a Tata Motors dealership to sell your Nano. I assume the dealer is going to be in India (about 170 dealers countrywide) and you'll have to pay for the whole shipment.
The Zenn costs $12 500 for the base and goes only a pedestrian 25 mph plus a charge for only 35 miles in 8 hours. The engineering on the Nano is way more advanced then the Zenn. The Nano is a better real world alternative to the Zenn anyday.
Yeah, thats the funny thing, safety features are optional, lol. In India, there are hardly any traffic lights, no road dividers, bike riders on the highway etc. Pretty hazardous situation.
Safety Hazards decrease exponentially as you reduce speeds of all vehicles on roads. Under low speeds of city traffic this is pretty safe. Its only when you have excessive speeds like in west that you need to drive around in heavy Tanks euphemistically called SUVs.
Looks like a Pregnant rollerskate...

I live in CA. I do see more Prius cars then Hummers, but people still drive Hummers. They're retarded.

It's not meant for the western market...its meant for the lower income groups in developing countries.....
But the fact that it's spurred other car manufacturers to rethink the definition of a low priced car speaks volumes abt the impact its had...
