  • I do know how both work an the linear "floating" m16 BCG isn't designed for a piston. You want a piston gun buy one designed from the ground up with one (g36 if you must) but at least that has a stacked carrier on rails like a piston gun should.

  • Wow they talked to you

  • 4:49 UMP!!!!!

  • Why do all the .22 walther rifles jam?

  • @TheDriverron Real Walthers should not be confused with the Umarex pieces of shit that wear the Walther name. :-)

  • @DarkXephos i'm not that big of a gun nut to now everything, but does the F2000 jam easily? or what are you saying?

  • @DarkXephos are you claiming that the F2000 is german made? cause buddy you'd be mistaken, it is 100% pure belgian design, FNH baby, :-p admitted that as a belgian still like H&K better, but FN is second on my list :-p

  • Forget cars . . . guns don't need gas to work. Just bullets, a lot of bullets.

  • best engineered gun ever

  • If ya"ll knew how the HK416-417 actually worked you'd know it blows the M4-M16 away. Imagine combining the durability of a AK with the accuracy and better recoil of a M16

  • @Guener22 sounds good to me, I'll be sure to put the 417 on my wishlist! :)

  • @redeemer61190 but not to but down HK but Primary Weapons Systems makes the same gun for 1600 instead of 3500ish if you can find it.

  • great video!

  • HK: "because you suck and we hate you"

why waste 2 grand on the 416 when you can buy a better gun from LWRC (a company who dosent have any hangups about selling to civilians) for alot less?

  • @agricola Because LWRC sucks too, with flaking hard chrome, carrier tilt, broken piston cups, and all kinds of crap that regular old DI guns don't suffer from! XD

  • OMAGAD must have must have xD xD

  • Bob Schultz :D einen deutscheren Name gibt es wohl für die Presentation nicht. I ike the M4, AA12, Barett 50C..... :-) The M417 is a further development or from the M4 and M16 therefore M416, the 7 is for the 7.62*51 NATO rounds.

    Greetings from Germany ;D

  • Damn there are so many things the Germans invented during WW II but they didn't get recognition for it simple because the lost the war and the technology was either stolen, lost or the scientist were "forced" to work for the USSR, USA or other countries. Can you guys imagine how many other things would have been invented if the war laster for another 5 years?

  • german weapons are sexy

  • Hello anyone. How's the HK 417? Its always refered to as the "big brother" of the 416, but in 7.62. Is it equally reliable?

  • I'd love a HK69A1, but the only ones you see for civilians are expensive rewelds. It'd be nice if someone made a clone...

  • @ExoticSpotting $200 destructive device tax stamp per grenade? Ouch! Hey, are they hiring over where you work? I wanna b able o afford that to!

  • @boricuaDV I know $200 is STIFF, and that doesn't even include the cost of the grenades themselves, which are VERY hard to find.

Then again, if I win the lottery, feel free to head on over to my place on 4th of July. I promise I'll have the most badass firework show in my county!

  • Why doesn't colt or whatever company supplies military just make the same system these rifles use and sell them to military wouldn't that solve problem?

  • @DevastatedX Colt made a piston setup in the 70s or 80s and nobody wanted it, not even the military. HK's piston setup is likely patented, so nobody else but them can sell it. In the end, I don't think there is muhc of a "problem" other than the M4s and M16s being old and in need of replacement. There are far less compliants with the regular system than the media would have us believe.

  • @boricuaDV yeah after I posted the comment I kinda thought about it and thought its probly patented

  • HK m416 = COLT STOCKS AND BODY.... GERMAN Organics^^

Made in germany , best weapon ever!

  • HK417 FTW!

  • wtf are we doing with the m4 still if the contract ran out in 2004?!?!

We should be using the 416!

  • Incremental reliability gains, high price, needs to manufactured in the US for a contract, etc. ...

  • German Weapons are the best of the world. The Americans are noobs in producing rifles.

  • One thing that lacks on the HK416D is if you add a suppressor on the weapon the barrel is to short to flip the front iron sight down if you primary sight breaks. I have to buy a separate front iron sight because it will not flip down because the suppressors in the way.

  • That's interesting I had no idea that there were a few production models of the 416 in 6.8mm.

  • @nihilus1224 me too, the remington 6.8 SPC would a better choice than the 5.56x45 imao

  • ermmm isn't the CETME based on the HK G3

  • Nope. It's the other way around.

  • Germans and Russians KNOW how to make there guns!

  • Wow...your statistics are very factual and amazingly accurate. How do you do it? One time I ate a kagillion bazillion mamillion jelly bellys. True story.

  • Hmm, russians know how to copy a gun. xD The AK47 is not much more than a copy of the STG44 (MP44).

  • The Germans sure know how to copy also. They licensed the CETME design from Spain in order to equip the German military with a semi-auto battle rifle. We know how the rest of the story went...

  • Sry to tell you so, but the CETME rifle is mainly designed by some german guy who based that design on the german StG 45 (some test rifle after the stg 44). Whatever you want to say, we made the first assault rifles in the world and we made the first modular system for those. But i know, everone copy or take some technology of others sometimes. So im sure there are some things also where germans copy something. But not as often as ppl copy german technology.

  • I happen to have a letter written to me from Spain's Ministry of Defense that states there was one German working with a TEAM of Spanish engineers on the CETME project. It also clearly states that the CETME was NOT a copy of the STG, contrary to popular belief. Yes, Germany made the first "assault rifle" but they are not above copying others' designs.

  • lol, a letter from "Spain's Ministry of Defense"

so it was not the complete Mauser Department 37 which was first transferred to France and then to Spain after the war and which consisted of Vorgrimler, Löffler and all their other German Mauser engineering colleagues? and they did not refine Mauser's stg45?

what's the next you are going to present us? the secrets on the place where Elvis is still alive? you talk to the "true" killer of JFK? news about the 9/11 inside job and faked moon landing?

  • Where is your information coming from? CITE SOURCES! I have in my hands, a document from the Spanish Ministry of Defense, that has been made available to anyone who has asked.. What do you have to back up your claims? Wikipedia, which is written by anyone and everyone? World Guns? LOL. Come with some research or don't comment at all...

  • So ,why didn't the spanish government sue HK for devoloping a whole line of delayed roller locking weapons. How did HK get the rights to the roller locking weapons?@borcua

  • @hanskaltwasser The CETME design was oficially licensed out for manufacture in Germany- hence, no lawsuit or bitter feelings.

  • LOL. ululululu is getting PWNED! What are your qualifications, and as the OP said, where are YOUR sources?

He's the guy who was granted access to film the SHOT show and accurately report on the info and latest developments , what are your credentials again?

  • Ludwig Vorgrimler from Mauser was the primary designer of the CETME rifle, assisted by spanish engineers. The design was taken from the experimental ger. stg 45.

  • An official document from Spain's Ministry of Defense says that the CETME project was already underway when Vorgrimler arrived. I provided this to the last person to question it, and they have magically disappeared. If you would like the document, send me a messsage with an email address and I will send it...This is an open offer to anyone.

  • Which is a German gun. So what...

  • the ak47 isn't a copy the principle of it is i.e assault rifle. And btw the AK is a different weopon altogether.

  • the original principe of this system is the " STURMGEWEHR 44 " thats also the GRANDFATHER off all assault riffles

  • @axel99i u are right =) germans created the Mauser aka "the first bolt action rifle", and the STG44 aka "the first real assault rifle"

many would say Nazis were "a-holes", i consider them the fathers of all war technology today

1903 = copy of German Mausers

    AK47 = copy of German Sturmgewehr 44

Uzi = copy of German Mauser Pistol

RPG7 or Bazooka = copy of German Panzerfaust

get my drift yet? and dont let me get started on planes, missles, and ect.

i.e. germans made the first jet =)

  • @nle4lyfe You have a LOT to learn.

The Gloster Meteor was a Allied Jet which entered service in the same month that the Me262 did.

The Americans had a far better weapon in the bazooka than the Panzerfaust which the Germans copied which the panzershreck.

The Germans copied Hiram Maxims (An American living in Britian) machine gun

The Germans copied the British Tank.

The stg44 is the only German innovation in your list. You could add the Submachine gun (Bergmann)

  • @nle4lyfe The AK47 is as much of a copy of the STG44 as a 1911 is to a revolver.

  • @TheLPsyche Idiot! He's right! The AK47 is a copy of the Sturmgewehr 44 (Storm rifle 1944). It was even proven that the Ruskies took MP44s from dead soldiers and created a new gun based on the '44s schematics.

  • @AndrogradeGaming I must have been high or something when I wrote that O.o Please excuse my idiocy.

  • @TheLPsyche No worries, I just hate it when I reply to a comment like I just did (all angry and yelling and what not) and then I get a reply where the guy is all nice and so on... just like now, it makes me look like a d**k... sorry for being rude lol I imagined you'd be a know-it-all tightwad

  • @AndrogradeGaming

No, it is not, this is an erroneous comment.

  • @KingPeace1 The Americans copy because the M60 is an copy from Mg 42 so shut your mouth if you have no idea!

  • is the hk416 or hk417 going to be a cilvan weapon

  • Technically they already are. Gas piston upper receivers for AR15's have been around for years now. Go buy one :D

Ruger is putting out their own AR15 using a gas piston upper soon, but its MSRP is around $2k =/

  • yep... AR's have been running gas pistons for a little while now. still waiting on my LMT!!!

  • Mind you that the short stroke gas piston in these guns was designed by the Belgians in the FN-FAL family of guns first.

What ever happened to the superiority of the H&K roller delayed blowback method of operation in the CETME / G-3 and G41.. oh wait, must not have been that superior since they're using the short stroke gas piston (Belgian) in the G-36 and XM8. ^_^

    *cough* tarted up FN-FNC *cough*

The only thing the Germans have done is stick it into a AR-15 action.

  • LWRC, LMT and Ruger are all doing the same. Which is AWESOME! bout time the problems of the AR are being addressed by many manufactures

  • i love the g36c

  • We Germans build better weapons than the Americans :-) but i like the M4 too....

  • i love german enjenering.

  • the american rather should have accepted the HK XM8 for their standart army weapon instead of the M16

  • Yeah M16 Jams most of the time.

  • The M16 was made in the early sixtys. The xm8 in 2002. The m4 has been around alot longer. They are more affordable and plentiful. The Magpul Masada ( Bushmaster ACR) is a much better choice.

  • For all intents and purposes, the Masada/ACR does not exist and is therefore nothing more than vaporware at this point. It also has not undergone any military trials that anyone is aware of. Sorry, but I have to disagree. The Masada/ACR really isn't a choice at all at this point in time.

  • well... neither is the XM8 or the FN-SCAR (FN-SCAR although i've been told is used by some in SF/SOCOM, but not on a large scale). The Masada is a very nice design though! can't knock that

  • Au contrere. The SCAR is being fielded by certain units within the Military and it is also available on the civilian market. The XM8 project has been shelved according to the fellow in the video. So far, out of the rifles mentioned above, only the SCAR is seeing any real use. Not a peep from Bushmaster/Remington on the ACR...

  • yeah... the SCAR is being used by certain units. its not replacing the M-16 M-4. i think because of all the latest advancements of the AR rifles they may stick around a lot longer than expected. both the SCAR and the ACR are great designs. however i believe once the ACR is put through testing, it will be a close competitor for the SCAR.

  • xm8 is an american gun and the reason it is not being used is when it was sent to iraq the gun couldnt handle the heat so it was breaking down when soldiers were using it on fully automatic

  • uh no xm8 was a prototype made by hk to compete in trials for gun to reaplace the mm4/m16. xm8 is a bascially a modernized g36 and to make the gun lighter they removed some polymer from the hand guard which caused the hndguards to melt in long periods of firing

  • Ja, Deutschland ist das beste, Sie haben die beste Technologie und immer wird.

  • @SEKboyEssen

Yeah, the HK416 is a copy of the Armalite AR-180 which is an American design.

  • No, the 416 is a "product improved" M4 using the G36 gas piston system, which some say is derived from the AR180, but that doesn't mean it is an AR180. The rifle itself is completely different than an AR180. Overall Bolt Carrier Group design, upper and lower receiver, receiver extension are all based on the M4.

  • @boricuaDV

Most of which is superficial - it is an AR-180 inside an M4's chassis. Thanks.

  • Those differences are crucial to how the weapon operates from a technical perspective. It's an apples to oranges comparison. Or should I say, Cranberry sauce to stuffing comparison. Happy Thanksgiving.

  • @SEKboyEssen i agree, although germans dont think out of the box they're always making stuff better.

  • @SEKboyEssen I would try to defend my country but I like to many German guns.

  • @SEKboyEssen Don't judge all americans by the m16 and we won't judge you by WW2. lol

  • Is it possible to design a gun which can use several different type of mag. ?

  • yes, one gun i know that takes different mags is called Magpul Masada (Bushmaster ACR).

    hope it helps!!

  • NO!!! if it was then the XM8 would be produced

  • no....

  • I am looking at getting the civillian model MR556. Does anyone know when they will be available for sure?

  • late 2009

    fingers crossed

  • Malaysia Police known as Komando 69 already using the HK 416 and HK417, they says that it is much better than M4 or M16..

  • I kill to take one of those MP7A1's on a few raids with me.

  • Iv always loved HK and when i saw the 416 it became my favourite weapon immediately. But the HK 417 is like a step up!!!

  • i´m in mess!! whcih assult rifle is the best ??

    HK416 ; HK417 ; HK G36 or the HK G3???????

and which Machine Pistole is better??

    MP5 or the MP7

    and which pistole is better??

HK USP or the HK P2000

  • hk416 has only a smaller caliber (5.56) hk417 (7.62) mp5 9mm high recoil the mp7 4.6 high velocity round (in my opinion way better than the mp5 because it can hit through bodyarmor even over 50m) and the hk2000 is the new standard police pistol in germany (developed for high reliability and for women) usp...good gun .... nothing special...

  • can u at least change the reciever to use the 4.6

  • In the U.S. sry

  • replace m16 and m4

  • german weapon best of the world! da ginda sheeci!

  • Fuck Yeah, I love MP7

  • deutsche waffenindustrie !! xD

  • so the 417 is bout the size of an m4? cuz i was lookin to get an m4 but if the hk417 is the same size and shoots the 7.62s, then thats the rifle i want, any body no more on this gun??

  • HK is not selling the 416 or 417 to civilians in the US. They have shown semi-auto versions of these rifles at international shows, but no one knows if they will actually sell them here in the US.

  • They are planning on selling the civilian version late 2009 416 will be MR556...417 is MR762..will come with 10 rd mag

  • While they "plan" to sell these to US civilians, it should be noted that the versions shown at this year's 2009 SHOT Show were non-functioning prototypes, which makes me wonder how long it's REALLY going to be...

  • umm... the hk417 is also WAY more reliable and resistable than the M16 or M4 and so on, so better get one of these :)

  • so does the contract for the m4/m16 assault rifles really end in 08? so we may see a new assault rifle for the army? hmm it will be intresting to see what happens.

  • idiots the hk417 is a 7.62x51 nato and it is a battle rifle not a assault rifle

  • Why hasn't anyone made a video of the HK-417 in action yet? I really want to see how controlable it is on full automatic.

  • there is a video of it, where its compared to the m16 , I don`t remember it`s name , I just know that the HK417 won all tests :). I can search the video for you if you want to.

  • would be really nice. looking forward :)

  • damn niggy haha

the 416 should be the military assult rifle or is it?

  • is it still only available to military personel, and do they do private single sales to military personel

  • I am surprised that the Marines haven't shown higher interest in the 416 upper replacement for the m-16, since they are interchangeable and superior to the "AR-15" type uppers

  • Please note than any further childish comments will be deleted flat out. If you don't have something reasonable or productive to say, you should present a sound argument instead. If you are just going to quote some whining nonsense from a discussion forum, your comment is worthless. Carry on...

  • WOW!!!!

  • the mag looks a little big to be 5.56

  • it could be 6.8 ??

  • the hk 416 shoots 5.56 and the hk 417 shoots 7.62

  • You heard it: "The German Engineers improved it..." I just love the H&K designs.

  • hell yeah ^^

    H&K is just... unbeatable =)

  • I love HK's products, i used to valet at a hotel about 5 mins from there leesburg/ashburn VA headquarters, and you could here automatic weapons fire at night, it was cool

  • Yeah, I got pretty excited when Futureweapons demoed some HK guns and it said they had an complex in Loudoun. So close to home, and I never knew about it.

  • can the g36c mount a grenade lanucher?

  • ofc...

  • ofcourse and its called AG36

  • woah they have a 6.8spc chamber 416

  • I know! i was shocked to here that! that good news!

  • JESUS CHRIST DID YOU SEE THAT G36? I HOPE NO ONE LOOKED AT IT TOO LONG, THEY MIGHT HAVE DIED JUST FROM LOOKING AT IT, IT LOOKS SO DEADLY!

and that HK 417 looks great too.

    5/5!

  • But civilians can not buy these, becuase you suck and we hate you

    Love HK

  • XM8 is no where to be seen.

  • i think after seeing some vid s :) thats the weapon to go with, all the footage shoots out of wather....fuck m 16 well i love em too and buy a hk :)

  • I kinda like this one. H&K did a awesome job again but 10 or rather 20 rounds are not much.

But 7,62x51mm are fuckin deadly man.

  • wonder what the Americans would do without the Europeans...

  • Hey man, I can't speak for all of us but I love our allies...except the french...bugh

  • haha...Well H & K made some very fine guns, didn´t they ?

  • Probably still carry the superb 1911 instead of the shit Beretta. I think your question should be the other way around.

  • amen to that

  • I guess its fine to speculate but in the end the American government shall decide. The Canadian Forces use a variant of the M16/M4 we call the C7/C8. Hell, i'm sick of the M16 and i wish my country would replace theirs but we only have a budget of 18.2 billion...compare that to the budget of American military, which is over 600 billion( well about 490 billion officially but of course theres way more) so if its too expensive for the largest military budget in the world it wont work out for us.

  • so to all the americans in here, which weapon do you think will be selected to replace the M4?? he said colts contracts runs out this year

  • Considering the screwed up state of the economy and the weak dollar, I don't think the USA will be switching to any new weapons system anytime soon. The US Gov't pays somewhere between $400 and $600 for the M16 family rifles. Considering the price of the would-be replacements and the fact that each soldier carries less rounds than were needed to produce a failure in the Sand Trials, the M 16 & M4 may be with us a good while longer. For now the internet armchair commandos will buy the latest toys

  • the us government has many stocks in the production of the M4, will they ever change, will they ever care?

  • I hope it's the 416 man, I've personally shot one and it's an AMAZING weapon system. What do you think? I heard they terminated the M8 program.

  • HK 417 is definately my favorite modern day weapon. I mean seriously, it combines all of the great stuff about the Ak 47 (Reliability, 7.62 etc) and all of the good stuff about the M4 (Accurate, Lighter, Overall Better feel)

  • I like this gun more but they say that the FN SCAR has a service life of 90,000 rounds, 20,000 for the barrel. I wonder which one is better

  • FNH SCAR the real assault rifle, approve by SOCOM

    HK 416-417 RIP

  • is the g36c good enough to compare to the 416? they both are HK. both can go through water and stuff. g36c is lighter and it can be used for left handers and right handers. foldable stock. please reply

  • Well, US army denied XM8 - a completely new design with new attachments, because it would be too expensive.

I think 416 was made exactly for army's needs. All attachments, cleaning kits and other tools from M4 will fit and it can be installed as an upper receiver to M4 which reduces the price even more.

German army doesn't use 416. KSK(specops) can use what they want but you rarely see them with HK416. Weapon they use the most is the G36 with standard optical sights(4x magn.)...

  • ...and EOtech on it which they use instead of the standard red dot sights which is ugly IMO (it was made to be cheap).

  • can you tell if the g36c compares with the 416 because i read that it has basically the same internals but different externals.

  • the us army doesn't seem to care about their quality but more about the quantity

  • is the stg the Sturmgewehr? wasnt that the first assault rifle ever created? how is it the same as the AK? if it was, then wouldnt it have the same if not better reputation?

  • Yes the StG 44 ist the Sturmgewehr 44.

After the second world war allies and soviets began hunting for secret german technology and the scientists whom created them. the StG was one of the weapons which influenced the developement of the ak-47.

also jet fighters (me-262),Air to Air- missiles ( Rheinmetall R-4) night-vision ( zg.1229 Vampir) and inter-kontinental missiles (V-2) were created in germany and then improved by allies and soviets.

there are enough videos about those weapons here ;D

  • ohh ok

  • Nonsense!

  • True but not true, the russian made PPSh-41 submaching gun is were the germesn got the idea, once the germans used the Stg 44 the russians realized the greater technology so once the war was done they stole the design and creatd something better

  • Ehh no.

  • sorry mate but there all based on the stg44

  • Here in germany even teacher will ask u if u know that HK is the leading producer of firearms in Germany. We are very proud of HK.

  • lol so pathetic ...war is a buisness now lol ur selling weapons that could later be used agaisnt u ...lol not so great technology if there used on u are they now>????? lol ahahahaha pathetic

  • Exchanging weapons and ideas is not new. Most of the great empires in history borrowed and incorporated combat technologies from others, either directly from them or indirectly. Besides, we don't seem to find terrorists with $2,000+ modular weapons. They are usually found using the cheaper, yet effective Soviet weapons systems.

  • yeh true..but im not sayin about terrorists...like america sells bombs and planes to all these countries kinda wealthy and like when a war comes and dere not with you ur gona be shooting ur own planes and ur bombs are gona return to u dropepd from bombers ...wars are won cause of advantages and tactics ..if they have they same technology as u how do u win? ur just digging ur own grave......eg.g w bush gave alkaida resources to fight ...now their fighting agaisnt him.

  • and WE are winning :D

  • This dumb ass is watching too much Iron Man.

  • u watch 2 many movies ..............

  • hm... just so you know guys , the americains special forces worked with HK because they needed a better rifle than the M4, thats where the HK416 and HK417 are from.

  • But your politicians took them from the SOF and gave them normal stinky M4s xD

  • Yeahbuddymd your retarded the 417 weapon is designed with the same concept as the AR-10 but with a gas piston operating system and a some up to date modification but still very similiar not a part of a brand new weapons family. The 417 is NOT a hybrid of the G36 XM-8 or M8 weapons they dont look, operate, or even use some of the same parts. The only weapon you listed that compares is the M4a1 and thats just on looks of the weapon. Now you really don't know what you're talking about do you?

  • I heard H&K gives civilians naughty looks at SHOT show. And they make such awesome things too! :'(

  • If you go to SHOT Show dressed in a T-shirt and shorts, you're not going to be take very seriously. Likewise, if you cop an attitude, demanding answers that have already been given, you won't get much respect in return.

Rican Havoc Productions and On Point Firearms are not law enforcement or military entities. In this case, a little professionalism yields professional results, and everyone went home happy.

Don't believe anything you hear, and only half of what you see.

  • Well, I hope they would tolerate me wearing a tang suit. As for professionalism, I like to be kind and respectful to people I meet at first.

  • Heckler & Koch makes the best weapons in the world! =D

Light and reliable. Great design and very, very accurate. I have fallen for them, and I just love them! =D
