  • Tierra is thee best chicano band of all time.

  • This song brings back so many memories.

  • I went on tour with the ORIGINAL Tierra back in the early 80's, shortly after they had just released their hit "Together". It was one of the BEST experiences of my life.

Rudy/Steve Salas, Joey Guerra, Phillip M. (drummer), Mike (Vocals), Andre Baeza etc..The tour went all over Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Northern Califonia. It was GREAT times!!!

To this day, I still follow the group though the majority of the original members are no longer part of the group. They still sound GREAT!

  • Memories, memories, I love Tierra. Way back in the day I saw the band at

a concert at Cal State LA. How they wowed me...........

I still love their music always and forever.

Note: all time favorite: "La Feria" That's going way back.

  • I remember this song like summmertime when I spent it visiting my aunt I was like 10 or 11 yrs old I love how music just brings you back to that special place in time.

  • this shaped my life with 7has.

  • This song takes me back to Pacoima and san fernando,California. Those were the good old days, 30 yrs. ago. I live in Texas now, listening to Gorge Striaght.

  • I remember watching them on Soul Train, when "Together" came out in the early 80s and Don Cornelius gave them props stating that they had been kicking around for awhile. Basically he acknowledged that they had been working the clubs for a long time, paying their dues and finally got their big hit. I was in the service back then, and every club I went into was playing the song. Good times.

  • Met Philip (drummer) & his lovely wife in Las Vegas.....beautiful people....love the band.....viva la raza!!!!

  • the original version by the intruders is way better than this, imo

  • THIS SHIT WAS HOT BACK IN 81-82.

  • I thought it was more like 79-80. Regardless, nice r & b from the latino side. Just proves that music is universal.

  • This IS still hot!!!!

  • I use to dance at the pasta house to these guys music..great Band

  • So, so Beautiful!

I love this song because it represents everything that Mexican Americans have to face in life, yet they are always happy because at the end of it as long as they are TOGETHER. I say the yanks could learn a thing or two from them.

  • this is a Gamble/Huff composed song...one of the biggest guys in 70s/80s music

  • The Intruders sang this first, Sonny had the smoothest voice to bad he committed suicide.

  • I love this song so much..

  • This is some smoooooooth jams. I heard this song on an old American Top 40 replayed on XM. I immediately scored the whole album from iTunes. This kinda stuff makes me really proud to be Chicano! Great music guys...keep it up!

  • Proud to be a chicano.........Be proud to be alive and have ears to listen to this incredible song. Music makes us all proud.

  • I was 9, 10 years old when this song was popular and I loved it. The local black radio station used to play it, and I (along with a lot of others, I'm sure) assumed the group was black. I remember being so surprised when I saw them on Soul Train one Saturday morning!

  • first dance i had with Juanita i was 14 she was 13. 24 years and 2 sons later it is something i would never change

  • Now this is music, not like the junk today's artist play.

  • vocal harmonies are SUPREME!

they did an outstanding cover of this song.

  • who was the second guy singing ?

  • latino musica at its finest

  • they still kick ass dame what a great band!

  • Grammy Nomination

  • a classic!!puro chicano!

  • Latinos and Italian Americans are the only people on this planet who can perform soul just as good as (and in some cases, better than) African Americans. I'm ready for anyone who wants to challenge my statement. God Bless African American,Latino and Italian soul brothers!

  • no one does it like the creators, never has been a Latino or Italian equal to Aretha, JB, Sam Cooke, Etta James, Al Green, Al Wilson, Dee Dee Warwick, Temptations, The Dells, Jackie Wilson, Isley Bros, Maxine Brown, Betty Everett, Barbara Lynn, Baby Washington, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Four Tops, Gladys Knight, Kim Weston, Dramatics, Billy Stewart, Anthony Hamilton, etc., great soul singing came from the Black church, not too many Latinos or Italians came through the black church.

  • This song never went number 1. But it did make the top 20. It still kicks ass!

  • still so good

  • Cruising in my mustang with my high school sweetheart,

  • Got my ticket. But can someone please tell me what the heck Chris Montez is doing at this concert. This is puro Chicano music, he doesn't fit in. You can find me in the beer line when he performs. lol

  • Love this version- love the nod to GQ in the end with the " I do Love you's".. So much life has happened but where ever you are Bobby G. this is still our jam....

  • very good song 2 dance off...slow dance or walk....damn the memories.....

  • Is this the lead singer, he sounds totally different, you know how sometimes after 25yrs or so they be changing singers and members of the group so I was just wondering, I mean he sings the words totally different, its not just his voice that changed, I dont think its the original lead singer

  • Most of the song is sung by Steve Salas, the original vocalist from the 1981 recording. Billy Mondragon sings a verse, and has been with the band for about 13 years.

  • Thanks, I can now see it is Mr.Salas who is the original singer for Tierra but he sounded better on the "together" @ Route 66 2007" video like he did back in his original recording for some reason, either way I finally got to see what he looks like

  • This is how OLD SCHOOL does it! If you ain't been laid with this song playing, you just don't know...

  • Sometime in...I guess it was in the early '90's, but my parents and I went to a car show in Espanola, NM and TIerra played there. Great band.

  • cant wait to work with you guys again in the duran show!

  • I remember when Angie asked if I'd go to her High School to see them perform.. I think it was in 1981 @ Roosevelt HS... She stood me up,

But she missed an awesome performance!

  • Twenty five years ago on the junior high school bus, Michael put his hand on mine and asked me to be his girlfriend. I was nervous as could be, but said "okay". He then whispered in my ear that "Together" is our song. We always remained very close throughout the years and I always loved him. A few years ago Michael was killed in a car accident. This song will always be very special to me. Thank you so much for posting it.

  • dam...sorry to hear that about ur friend michael...i know how it hurts to lose a loved one,i have lost many ppl that i loved...but this song reminds me always of my wife..evn though i lost her and not in michael's manner..i still love her...

  • You have to be sooooo in love to write a song like this.... The harmony is amazing......jd

  • You look awesome Steve!

  • Tierra brings back the sweet moments in life when life was simple.. I have met the band twice, and i have to say that they are some of the most down-to-earth people i have met, and being in the industry, thats a rare thing...

  • This was my favorite slow dance make out song. I love hearing it live here. Thanks for posting it.

  • This group is awesome and if I'm not mistaken, some of these talented cats were right up there with "Malo" & "Santana" in the 70s as the group "El Chicano"

  • I saw Tierra sing this at a park in San Fernando called Las Palmas Park and got their album. Aww the good old days when life was simple, Luv ya Tierra

  • I love this one

  • Omg! I was a freshman in highschool when this song came out. Tierra is still sounding good.

I remember watching them perform "Together" on tv; I can't remember which program...it may have been American Bandstand but they were SEXY HOT!!!

If anyone has any old footage of them performing "Together" PLEASE post!;)

  • Tierra still exists big time. Congratulations. Love your music & proud & honored to know that my brother used to play with your band years ago at the Mardi Gras Nite Club in L.A. on Wilshire as a back up bass guitar player. Love Ya Tierra
