@gnagata: Your chord voicings are beautiful. I like this key you're playing it in; it's color is much cooler than the original key. The original key sounds kind of...partly sunny? I wish you would have played a little longer. I didn't want you to stop. Very nice.

my only criticism is that the original parallels the movie's plot to perfection. it begins with a sort of circular melancholy. (it's not going anywhere - and in the beginning neither is De Niro). then it shifts direction slowly while happy notes are introduced. It holds a promise of hope. when the climax is reached and the promise is within reach, the notes slowly turn sad and fall away as the denoument reveals that the promise of hope will not be fulfilled.

Excellent arrangement. My only criticism is that the original tune played in the movie was composed in the key of G major. This one was done in E flat major. Why?
Thanx for the comment - you have a sharp ear for keys. This song is too beautiful and too sad, when played in G. I tried to take out the sadness and keep the beautifulness by playing it in Eb, hence the "arrangement" in the description.
I absolutely loved your arrangement of this and it was beautifully played. I sincerely hope that sometime you do a top quality recording of this to do it justice. Respect, G.
this song makes me want to cry
