my only criticism is that the original parallels the movie's plot to perfection. it begins with a sort of circular melancholy. (it's not going anywhere - and in the beginning neither is De Niro). then it shifts direction slowly while happy notes are introduced. It holds a promise of hope. when the climax is reached and the promise is within reach, the notes slowly turn sad and fall away as the denoument reveals that the promise of hope will not be fulfilled.

Excellent arrangement. My only criticism is that the original tune played in the movie was composed in the key of G major. This one was done in E flat major. Why?

Thanx for the comment - you have a sharp ear for keys. This song is too beautiful and too sad, when played in G. I tried to take out the sadness and keep the beautifulness by playing it in Eb, hence the "arrangement" in the description.
