  • This song is very underrated, when you try to define the definition of the words music and beauty this song contains it all, phenomenal and beautiful :,)

  • this song reminds me of my granddad who just passed :(

  • through a childs eyes. says everything just so so beautiful....

  • This was just played at my uncles funeral today! So sad :(<3

  • This is so touching makes tears come to my eyes, and I am not a usual tear person, but it has that special something to bring out all those lost or past hidden emotions just fantastic thanks Charlie .

  • @ glonet....You truly expressed Chalie's words in the best way possible & once again I thank you Gloria. I loved how you made the balloons fade.Sadly it reminded me of when I was watching my son pass away. I miss him! :( 66 major operations in his 38yrs. Highly intelligent & never complained. I fwd the song onto a friend of Mark's who he went to school with (also blind) & it reminded her of her Dad & Pa who explained Mother Nature to her. Peace 'n' Harmony to you & yours. Chez (Australia)

  • @ glonet I have heard this song many times, but never related it to a 'blind' child.

Thank you so very much for explaining it & for posting the words. My son, Mark (RIP) was blind & many times he would ask me about colours, & it was the hardest thing to try to explain it to him, because it was at these times I would get so choked up, finding it hard to talk, but of course couldn't let him know how upset I was that he couldn't see Mother Nature at her best. Your video pics where wonderful ;(

  • @SadEyesToo

Thanks so much for your comments. This song really moved me and the words were so descriptive, I tried to choose photos which expressed them. You were given a mammoth task explaining to him. He was blessed to have a mother who would do that.

    Gloria

  • @SadEyesToo Your description of how you coped with an incredibly difficult task is very moving. I can only try to realise how difficult it must be to try and cope with your son's needs as well as your own . I used to work in a school for blind children and can only draw on my experience when I say that the children there used be very happy with my simple answers to their complex questions. Well done for what you did with your son I will pray for Mark if you are happy to accept that offer.

  • @Paddyscot Thanks so much for your kind words. My needs were simply to care for Mark as best I could & hopefully, I achieved that. He had to travel a very hard path here on earth. He was very cheeky throughout all he had to endure. I feel our warped sense of humour is what helped us get through so much together. Mark ended up in a wheelchair & spent the last five years of his life in bed, but still never complained. I miss him! He was my life! I would appreciate a prayer or two for me. Chez au

  • i love this song and the part that gets to me most is 'when hes playing with my hair dadday does he do the same to you

  • a lovely song, loved by my father, r.i.p. <3 xx

  • i adore this song:) :D

  • pure shit. If the child is blind he/she has no perception of colour. just this assholes way of bible thumping with a piss poor voice

  • @judemacdude let's hear you do a better job. Mr Landsborough has a very fine singing voice. And he doesn't push his religion onto anybody.

  • @judemacdude

You're just an attention seeking troll...piss off.

  • Ahhh Such An Absolutely Beautiful & Heartfelt Song!!! Truely Makes Me Cry!!!...Beautiful Share & Post!!!...Thankyou Gaz....Anita..

  • I think this is the most beautiful song.

.written and sung by Charlie Landsborough..

I was just recently introduced to him by another u-tuber..

  • WOW, strong song ty, made me cry what a song of love between a child and father ty

  • You can not believe me if you want to, but I swear to you, I know Charlie Landsborough. Not only know him, he has been agreat friend of my family's for years. He knew me and knows me, ever since i was a baby.

I know him so well, because my dad was the person who produced and created this song.

As I said, believe me if you want or don't, i am just amazed that this video was next to one by Charlieissocoollike.

  • My grandad used to sing this song to me when I was a baby, R.I.P grandad ily :'(

  • The most important thing about Charlie is his determination to realise his dream of being a singer / songwriter. Success never came easy to him but he never gave up. There's a great message for us all there. Life does not deliver dreams at the press of a button you have to work for it. Good for you Charlie, you fully deserve your success on the terms of talent and determination. A real traditional songwriter sadly lacking in popular music these days.

  • 4 minutes d'un super moment, beau, bon, doux, agréable, que du bonheur ! très joli ! 5*

  • Got a great story about Charlie Landsborough. I lived in Texas in 1998, so got into Country music, and thought I was John Wayne. Upon my arrival home in liverpool in 99. I told everybody about how good this Charlie landsborough was. Only to see him drinking in Birkenhead lol and found out he was from there. How mad is that.

  • great story - thanks for sharing!

  • ive had the good fortune to see charlie at many of his concerts...CLASS!!!!

  • My Dad and his love was always Gold to me!! How I miss him even after 11 years. I listen to Charlie because my Dad loved listening to him too!

    Keep it up Charlie.

  • My Dad loves him as well. Still the best

  • This was my grandad's favourite songs of all time. He would play it on repeat in the car when he was driving, but would never play it anywhere else. Ever.

One day, in hospital, he asked for it to be played and we knew it wouldn't be long before he left us. This song always reminds me of him, but i can never normally bring myself to play it even now, 3 years after his death.

Such a beautiful, peaceful song too.

  • This was played to at my Das funeral........... and when I dont know which diorection my life is going I listen and hope he'll give me a sign of the best choice to make........ x x x R.I.P Dad.....

  • I am so glad that you get comfort from this beautiful song, look after yourself, and although I don't know you, take care !

  • my dad played this song to me just a few weeks before he died. i miss him so much.

  • just love this and my dad did r.i.p xx

  • What a lovely song. Straight to my fav's and a special thanks to nonie285 for sharing it with me. Mark

  • savage song

  • Im pretty sure there is no sectarian comments on his song and your just wanting to cause an argument, and why even bring it up? people dont want to see stupid immature arguments, enjoy the song and respect it.

  • You can't fix stupid. LOL

  • dis reminds me of my dear grandfader..

god rest his poor soul :,(

    miss u so much

    R.I.P grandad xxx

  • same here, my grandad always listened to this song

  • The Calangute Mahal is a typical Goan Dormhouse and is the cheapest and most basic type of ...

    Says it all!!!

  • Absolutely breath taking lyrics... captures the thoughts of a blind child..... so beautifully, skillfully written by Charlie and SUNG WITH THAT BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL VOICE.

This kind of deep beauty makes my heart weep..

This was Charlie's first big hit.

  • I feel pity for anyone who does not understand the depth of this beautiful song.....It has nothing to do with "any" religion...a very simple expression of a blind child and the love of that child's parent.

  • unbelivable song!!

  • Absolutely Brilliant

  • there is a film called the same bout young child, this song reminds me bout the scene when the child head hung out of the window and feeling the wind in hair, and the question is asked WHAT COLOUR IS THE WIND?

  • no the question is how much is that dog in the window lol

  • think how lucky we are

  • This song`s a real tear jerker. Thanks for posting.

  • i think so too i realy think it brings out the best in all of us no matter wot has happened

  • this song always makes me cry i dont no why it is a lovely song x

  • Thankyou so much for uploading this video. It's my dad's favourite song & he really enjoyed hearing it again after so many years :) the video with it is very beautiful & fits the song so well.

  • i always felt the blindness was not that he could not see, but a metaphorical blindness...he could see but not understand...not see with his mind, rather than see with his eyes.

either way unfortunately this song will always be tainted for me by a certain "liberal" irish priest

  • the song is about a little boy who is blind -- askin his dad questions

  • I am entitled to my darker memory of this awful song too.

  • Whilst it might ruin it for you your comments are over the top. This song will always remain special to me and my family as the day my dad went into a coma from cancer he sang this to us all with a twinkle in his eye and also he sang it to my mother. It will always have a special place in all our hearts and the fact of the priest using the song will not take from the feeling of the song for me.

  • This song will always remind me of a documentary about paedophile priests in Ireland. A young man told how the local priest would force him to carry out sex acts while playing this record.

Unfortunately this has ruined a beautiful piece of music for me.

Just the thought of that poor child.

  • Great lyrics and great singer

  • Charlie was the last star I interviewed for BBC Radio Suffolk before my move to Spain, I have seen him loads of times in concerts and have met him one year while he was here in Spain on holiday just after his return from Austrailia. Really nice guy to talk to, and not one of those stars that try to camp it up all the time. A real Gent.
