This song is very underrated, when you try to define the definition of the words music and beauty this song contains it all, phenomenal and beautiful :,)
Such a beautiful, beautiful creation. Your video and his music. I can't see to type for the tears. Thank you for the work of putting together this beautiful video....so touching....
This is so touching makes tears come to my eyes, and I am not a usual tear person, but it has that special something to bring out all those lost or past hidden emotions just fantastic thanks Charlie .
@ glonet....You truly expressed Chalie's words in the best way possible & once again I thank you Gloria. I loved how you made the balloons fade.Sadly it reminded me of when I was watching my son pass away. I miss him! :( 66 major operations in his 38yrs. Highly intelligent & never complained. I fwd the song onto a friend of Mark's who he went to school with (also blind) & it reminded her of her Dad & Pa who explained Mother Nature to her. Peace 'n' Harmony to you & yours. Chez (Australia)
@ glonet I have heard this song many times, but never related it to a 'blind' child.
Thank you so very much for explaining it & for posting the words. My son, Mark (RIP) was blind & many times he would ask me about colours, & it was the hardest thing to try to explain it to him, because it was at these times I would get so choked up, finding it hard to talk, but of course couldn't let him know how upset I was that he couldn't see Mother Nature at her best. Your video pics where wonderful ;(
Thanks so much for your comments. This song really moved me and the words were so descriptive, I tried to choose photos which expressed them. You were given a mammoth task explaining to him. He was blessed to have a mother who would do that.
@SadEyesToo Your description of how you coped with an incredibly difficult task is very moving. I can only try to realise how difficult it must be to try and cope with your son's needs as well as your own . I used to work in a school for blind children and can only draw on my experience when I say that the children there used be very happy with my simple answers to their complex questions. Well done for what you did with your son I will pray for Mark if you are happy to accept that offer.
@Paddyscot Thanks so much for your kind words. My needs were simply to care for Mark as best I could & hopefully, I achieved that. He had to travel a very hard path here on earth. He was very cheeky throughout all he had to endure. I feel our warped sense of humour is what helped us get through so much together. Mark ended up in a wheelchair & spent the last five years of his life in bed, but still never complained. I miss him! He was my life! I would appreciate a prayer or two for me. Chez au
I know this song was inspired about a blind child asking what colour is the wind, but i lost my wee son in child birth and it always reminds me of him asking me what colour is the wind daddy. Miss you wee man.

Glonet, thanks a mil 4 the posting, Pat Kenny gave Charlie a huge break on KENNY LIVE on RTE many moons ago now,and fair play he did the World proud ever since!
This was my grandad's favourite songs of all time. He would play it on repeat in the car when he was driving, but would never play it anywhere else. Ever.
One day, in hospital, he asked for it to be played and we knew it wouldn't be long before he left us. This song always reminds me of him, but i can never normally bring myself to play it even now, 3 years after his death.
This was played to at my Das funeral........... and when I dont know which diorection my life is going I listen and hope he'll give me a sign of the best choice to make........ x x x R.I.P Dad.....

i always felt the blindness was not that he could not see, but a metaphorical blindness...he could see but not understand...not see with his mind, rather than see with his eyes.
either way unfortunately this song will always be tainted for me by a certain "liberal" irish priest
Whilst it might ruin it for you your comments are over the top. This song will always remain special to me and my family as the day my dad went into a coma from cancer he sang this to us all with a twinkle in his eye and also he sang it to my mother. It will always have a special place in all our hearts and the fact of the priest using the song will not take from the feeling of the song for me.
This song will always remind me of a documentary about paedophile priests in Ireland. A young man told how the local priest would force him to carry out sex acts while playing this record.
Unfortunately this has ruined a beautiful piece of music for me.
I love this song.. My Grandads favourite.. He passed away last year.. I will miss you Grandad.. and I am sorry we couldnt find this song for your funeral.. Geez.. you were my daddy :'(.. I love you.. RIP :)
I thank you for putting this song up.. reminds me of my Grandad...I love you so much =] bringing tons of memories back..
I love the video. I met Charlie back in 2004 backstage, after a concert. He's such a nice person, very kind and funny. Made me laygh and I'm 22. Brilliant. :-)
I have sung this on a few occasions for a young friend of mine who is blind and I know that Charlie sang it for her when she was in the audience at one of his concerts...he is a very special person and so is my young friend.
i love this song, this reminds me of my brothers and sisters, myself billy, linda, pat, john, maureen, bridged, rose, tony, ivy, desi. god bless them all, they're in my prayers.
Charlie was the last star I interviewed for BBC Radio Suffolk before my move to Spain, I have seen him loads of times in concerts and have met him one year while he was here in Spain on holiday just after his return from Austrailia. Really nice guy to talk to, and not one of those stars that try to camp it up all the time. A real Gent.

I love the video. I met Charlie back in 2004 backstage, after a concert. He's such a nice person, very kind and funny. Made me laygh and I'm 22. Brilliant. :-)

This song and "I love the things (that my ears can do) are very inspiring and remind me how much I take for granted!

I have sung this on a few occasions for a young friend of mine who is blind and I know that Charlie sang it for her when she was in the audience at one of his concerts...he is a very special person and so is my young friend.
