  • excellent,looks so real.

  • That sound ... when one of them buzzes right overhead .. PHRAKKING AWESOME!!!

  • I realized it was animation after I read the comments. It's absolutely amazing. More!!?

  • Animation? Amazing!

  • can anybody tell the brits that the war is over.

  • @MrTipula We know the war is over dick head, Germany has Tornado's and Eurofighters now, thats a fair clue for a start. Obviously the Germans didn't have Spit's and Mosquitos back then due to UK wanting to win and stuff, get over it. UK with that bro?

  • Thank you to the Brits that showed our boys (USA) how to fly and dogfight! If it where'nt for you we never would have been able to compete against the Germans or Japenese! Thank you again from across the "pond"!

  • Looks like Scotland and early 1950s. It is real, nobody is that good. Met the guy who owned most of the Mosquitos and spitfires used in 666 sqdrn, Piece of Cake, etc Mark Hannah, did a fly by at the Digital Equipment Schneider Cup memorial race in 1985. Nice guy

  • Damn I really thought this was real the first few times I seen it.

  • Brilliant! Absolutely well done!

  • Before it played, I was like "Here we go, more fanboys repping up another rubbish video."

But that was fantastic animation! Glad I was proven wrong.

  • there are no mosquitos left flying any more, so definately not real footage - awesome animation!

  • @highpriestofdoom - Thankfully 3 are currently in the process of being restored to Airworthy condition.

  • bullshit thats not real!!

  • Real and not gay

  • is it not real?? :O

  • Every time I watch this I get chills all over !!!

The sound of those Merlins is awesome !!!

  • they are planes from uganda that were in operation in the american civil war. i am defo not confused or retarded

  • @Pringles352 bwahaha, not retarded eh. the american civil war was from 1861 to 1865 the wright brothers, you the guys who built the first plane, they were born in 1867 and 1871, so Mr not retarded, how do explain a British plane that first few in 1934 being used by americans in the civil war?

  • @obzelite it was a joke you mong

  • I don't know what to think...is it animated??

  • best part: 0:11 to 0:20

  • It is Authentic

  • Great vid, only one complaint. It's not long enough !!

  • @shannonman2 Yes Not long enough!!

  • I didn't realize that was animation until I read the description!

  • Wow! I know they are working on building Mosquitos from scratch in New Zealand. I thought they must have finished already! Nice work (",)

  • Are you kidding? This is animated???? Absolute genius!

  • does anyone have the contact details for the guy who did this animation ? i am a freelance cameraman in scotland who is part of a production team looking to turn pierre clostermann s The Big Show into a movie.I have only started the development stage but I am looking for professional contacts who would be willing to get involved.

  • @Staticjumper Isn't authentic?? Shit.. :D

  • At first I thought it was real :p

  • AWESOME, THE SPITS AND SKEETERS, LOOKS REAL NOT ANIMATED. MAKINGS FOR A GOOD MOVIE FROM THIS ALONE AND THE ENGINES SOUND AWESOME AS WELL.

  • this was animation? fuck me.

  • This is AWESOME!!! Touched my soul dear friend... Thank you so much for sharing this.... Listen to those Rolls Royce 12 cylinder Merlin's purr like kittens... BEAUTIFUL!!! Mike & Pamela

  • in 240p, even my wife's tits would look real!

  • love the graphics, so bloody realistic.

  • i honestly thought this was real at first wow.WOW

  • All the nuances were there. I was fooled. That means a win for graphic nerds. Amazing.

  • Sweet!

  • Stunning

  • Hmm , Agreed the spitfire is and always will be the coup de gras of the European theater. Albeit to say , the Mustang is in a breed of it's own. Yes the mustang is nothing without the Merlin engine.but the areodynamics of the mustang, coupled with the merlin engine, made the P-51 the top-dog fighter/bomber escourt of WWII.

  • Droooooooool

  • ABSOLUTELY love the low level pass of the Spitfires and Mosquitos.

  • the mosquito is really astonishing.

  • Frightening how far animation has come. Looks absolutely authentic!

  • @Staticjumper wow, i actually thought it was real !

  • The two most beautiful and powerful planes ever built

  • @vedrac and the P-51

  • ..i thought it was real

  • really good work!

  • Put - Spitfire VS Bf 109 "The German" - in your YouTube search box to see what Tochy has been upto since.

  • Look, I've said it once before.

First up, the initial engine sounds are from the movie, Stragetic Air command.

    B-36 'Peacemakers'.

    Once more, I'm asking.

WHO MADE THIS, IT IS BEYOND STUNNING, IT IS COMPLETLY REAL!.

    Please, SHOW YOURSELF!.

    (are you of this planet?)?.

  • @twinstu50 Look for "Suppon" Tochy on the Internet. His page is still up (the usual 3 w's followed by dot then k4 then dot then dion then dot then ne then dot then jp then follow that with a '/~suppon/' ) and he's also had involvement with some documentary film about carriers and Kamikazi planes shown on US tv not so long ago - I think it was the Discovery Channel.

  • 13 people are germans

  • @railman2015 I am German and I liked it :P. The spitfire definately is the best looking aircraft ever made.

  • Look up the F-82 Twin Mustang....North American did that....It was a winner!

  • @moondogman

The F-82 Twin Mustang; like the Lockheed P-38, both suffered from a distinct drawback. That is they both had twin fuselage's. Aircraft such as these began life prior to the "Luxury" of ejector seats. Pilots only bailed out when things were really bad, usually when they had no control over the plane. Imagine rolling out of the side of a spinning plane, and meeting up with a fuselage :(

  • They should have built a twin Mustang, that would have been a real killer.

  • 0:11 gives me goosebumps...awesome shot!

  • That link to the artist page doesn't work, darn! Yes, I accounted for the space...any good links to this guy out there? Possibly his name?

  • @anonymoususerindenve Send me a message, I'll give you the link.

  • Here's the artist's page if anyone's interested. Scroll down and check out the rest of his work. This guy's a hell of an artist. Note, some videos are better than others, and it's clear he was playing with ideas in several. w ww.k4.dion.ne.jp/~suppon/

  • @aerodynamic1 Mr.Tochibayashi's latest work is this "Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands 1/3 (US Navy vs Japanese Navy)"

You can find it on Youtube

  • my grandfather(dad's side) was a world war 2 aviator in the bomber groups of the R.A.F and he survived apparently. his last name is Doyle.

  • Holy cr@p! What a brilliant piece of work! Well done to the graphic artist.

    More?

  • MY dad was a R.A.F flight mechanic and he used to ground test both of these outstanding plaines... it's nice to see all of the kind comments THANKS to you all and to metalmelvin for posting it up hear R.I.P dad love you allways.. your son wildland firefighter iain james younger u.k

  • surprised he didnt duck

  • Really nice job. When the sky went pink, it became a bit apparent this was CGI. It had to do with contrast. Also your color balance was off a bit. Most noticeably on the rear navigation lamp. It should be 2700 degrees Kelvin and the "spray" was not how an under-driven filament looks as it burns. You have depicted it as 5600 K or so (too white) and very synthetic in light dispersion. Had you kept the entire bit in daylight you'd have had a 100% er. Otherwise as I said. Very nice.

  • There is something more sexy about these aircraft than today's modern jets. Beautiful!

  • where could I see some of these planes flying and not in a museum?

  • Funny about it was made of plywood.

  • @Curtisp40E1 p

    Plywood and BALSA!!,unbelievable,I know

  • perfect

and thx for not adding some stupid music

  • the textures of the grass suck

  • I so wanna watch this in 3D

  • Coolest. Video. Ever.

  • am a big fan of ww2 planes, i like the heinkel he III, supermarine spitfire, hawker hurricane and the messershmitt bf109.... but the king of planes in the avro lancaster bomber... wat a beast

  • Hi Tony. Yea I know the Mossie's had gun's in the nose. or the one's I saw in book's had them, between the P-38 and the mossie? Id still rather have the Mossie. more room in the cockpit,as light or lighter than the lightning. But Heavier build where it needed to be. lightning's could not take damage and they were kinda frail to be light and nimble. they had gun's in the front. but ill still take the mossie. more robust, and more wing area. Cheer's!!!!
  • @kirkconway There were 2 main types of Mosquitos. The ones that feature in this video are the straight Bomber variant and were unarmed apart from it's payload and the ones that you are referring to are the Fighter-Bomber variant and did have guns in the nose, but couldn't carry as heavy a payload

  • Awesome video! Where was this taken at? It's sure breathtaking to see Spitfires and Mosquitoes flying together like that!

  • @kenpalmer1965 It's not a filmed video, it's all animated!

  • @peoplesfrontofjudea WOW are you kidding...

  • @havaden96 I think somebody else earlier in the thread pointed it out. The light reflecting on the tail of the Mosquito as it lands is the only obvious bit of CGI work. In any case, I think the main thing that give it away is the description!

  • @peoplesfrontofjudea Oh,OK. Faked out again! Thanks! LOL!

  • Amazing realism. The excessively bright tail light at the end gave it away as being CG, but until then I thought it was real.

  • Fantastic how did you do that ..

  • the rawr of the engine just tickels me

  • now that is an amazing sound! it s like music..

  • The nickname for the Mosquito was 'Wooden Wonder'

  • Whispering death was the P-38 Lightening. Allison engines exhausted up...very quiet coming straight at you...

  • Whispering death was the P-38....engine exhausted up

  • I can't stop playing that landing as well! Amazing coding! V well done. Wish there there were as many Mossie's as Spit's flying :(

  • Incidentally the first time I wathced this I had no idea that it was cgi. I kept trying to figure out where the flyable Mosquitos and the four Spitfires came from.

  • Amazing. I have wathced this time and again and will continue to as long as I am able and it is available. Someone said that the sky color at the end along with the tail light tipped him off that it was CGI. Well, I don't know about the tail light, but I can say that I have sen just about every conceivable color in a sky. I don't see anything out of the ordinary at all here, except for the pure and lovely sight of these aircraft.

  • Wasn't the American P51 Mustage powered with a Merlin as well?

  • The sound of that low level fly by gives me a hardon! :)

  • every time i hear this sound, whether on tv or in the air, it sends shivers down my spine and makes me think of the great sacrifice that all those young pilots made, whether flying a fighter, or a bomber, to keep Europe free. God bless you all

  • The sound of these merlins drive me nucken futz. They havent come anywhere close in recreating that beauty.Oh and i am pretty sure the Mosi Never ever had a dorsel turret unless there was an experimental model i am unaware of.And the Japanese nicknamed this baby whispering death

  • @mredd2nd im pretty sure it was the beaufighter that the japs called whispering death

  • @dontmakepatarangry I have been known to be wrong before will have to go through me lil books again to check as i cant remember where i even got that info as it was years ago i read or heard that.

    thanks bloke

  • @mredd2nd I got that out of a fighter book and if you search 'Bristol beaufighter whispering death' into google it comes up

  • Amazing animation... Great tribute to the RAF..

  • The finest multi-purpose aircraft of WWII!

  • kocham ten głos :*

  • WOW!

  • now thats some low flying.

  • one thing the brits do well is build beautiful aircraft

  • @packr72 Try our tea as well it is lovely.

  • @gotorm2 more of a coffee person

  • @packr72 Shame, British coffee is rather bad (my opinion only).

  • @gotorm2 actually old boy/girl, there is no such thing as British coffee. Coffee comes form a number of geographical locations but Britain is not one of them....thanks for your opinion though. ;-0

  • @dpsherry You are perfectly right this is my bad. What I really ment that the coffee they sell here is not as good as advertised (the groud coffee is horrible although instant is fine as long as you consider it real coffee). Thanks for correcting me.

    Regards

  • @gotorm2 I suppose Tea is from India and not British. But interestingly enough Chicken Tikka Masalla is British and the Indians apparently don't like it too much!

  • @packr72 p51s looks better

  • @Jimmy4manutd7ronaldo most would disagree. The spitfire is a far more beautiful machine.

  • @Jimmy4manutd7ronaldo The Spitfire is pedigree, the P51 is a stray mongrel

  • @WickyWiggstaz A stray that'll kick your ass from derby to berlin and back. All day long.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @TheEnglish1966 The P51 isn't in a breed of it's own and couldn't kick a Spitfire from Derby to Berlin and back as you say. It is a better escort plane, due to it's amazing range, but in a dogfight, it can't turn anywhere near as tightly as a Spitfire and those were the words of the P51's chief test pilot. He went on to say he'd rather fly a Spitfire in a dogfight. He said the planes were about equal as their short falls cancelled each other out.

  • @WickyWiggstaz i didnt even ask for your opinion did i?

  • @packr72 Sadly I think you must change that to 'one thing the Brits DID well is build beautiful aircraft'. It saddens me my country is no longer producing such things as Mosquitos and Spitfires. The last truly beautiful aircraft we produced was Concorde, and it took French help.

  • @pawnshopguitars the eurofighter is a good looking jet, not the same appeal, but still pretty good lokking, if given the chance id fly one

  • @pawnshopguitars Par for the course...We can't afford to build any these days...it has to be a European project now....sadly :(

  • @packr72 We're pretty good at flying them too :D

  • @1977Harrier us yanks arent bad either,im glad the 2 best fighter planes in the world right now are british and american

  • @packr72 You mean "did" well.

  • @jklsd the eurofighter is pretty good looking, definetly better looking than those flying russian tractors

  • @packr72 they built.

  • @admiralPs built what

  • @packr72 my point is that the y dont build aircraft anymore

  • @admiralPs isnt the typhoon built in great britain

  • @packr72 not really, more in france. mabe a bit, but there isnt a lagre british aircraft comany like de haviland left

  • a-m-a-z-i-n-g!

  • how is this made? fsx or something?

  • i thought it was real till i red the caption

  • Sweetest music ever made!!!

  • WOW, Great CGI! Like the others, I thought the first parts were real!

  • I had to read the comments to realize this was CGI :D Awesome!

  • It's CGI by a guy named "Tochy". He has done some other amazing stuff as well.

  • is this from some movie? From where is this?

  • was that animated? holy shit!!!

  • there should be a fully restored flying mossie in NEW ZEALAND athe omamka airdrome in the south island in blenheim at 2011 easter ..

    keep the V12 dream alive

  • It made my blood run cold, what on earth did the germans feel!.

  • I love that powerful, growling sound!

Who did the animation! It's very impressive work. Congratulations on a job superbly well done!

When the Fuhrer says - Ve ist the master race

We bomb those Nazis, all over the place

When the British bombers fly over German sky

The Nazis bend over and kiss their ass goodbye

  • @AppleSouffle well said mate, but do you know, many of the die hard, young/old nazis will never admit they lost Battle of Britain!

-and still say their ME 109 and pilots were far superior to ours!?

  • Bloody fantastic!!!!!.

  • That probably was the best light attack low level bomber there was in all the WW2 400 mph with two rolls engines, constructed of wood. it could out run trouble vs B 25 and 26s with tail gunner.

  • The last airworthy mosquito crashed a few years ago. Real shame, awesome aircraft.

  • super!!!

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't think that there were many Mosquito's left flying?

  • This footage could totally be used in a film of some sort. Those low altitude pass' were pure beauty.

  • That really good put some more on please..

  • one of the coolest attack planes ever,

the mosquito could really rip em up,

    and then come home afterward,

  • @kirkconway

Most Mosquitos didn't have guns my dear friend. Too heavy... Aircraft was made of plywood .

But like the Wellington she could take an awful beating...

  • @kirkconway We had a Squadron of Mosq. in England during ww2 (Norway) we where suppose to fly 12 missions, nobody made it in the beginning, flying so close to the Norwegian shore alone with all those 190 figthers along the coast.

  • this is really cool

  • you had me convinced this was real you bastard :p

  • My older brother was lucky enough to work on Mosquitos.

I was given the lowly old Avro Anson!! Not quite the same

sounds but good safe old string bags.

  • @talbotvanman My uncle was a gunner in an Anson.

  • @banoffee2001 The Anson was mainly a navigation training aircraft, I don't think it was armed, unless the aircrew carried side-arms? The 'navigation exercises resulted in many of these aircraft 'blundering into hills or mountains. The RAF had absolutely no idea of pin point navigation during WW2, until 'oboe?

  • @doffincodger Mainly used for training but think you will find that the MK1 had a fixed Vickers machine gun in the front and a Lewis machine gun in dorsal turret.

Will double check with my aunt, but pretty sure thats what he flew in.

  • amazing editing to make this seem real who ever made this you deserve a thumbs up again brilliant edditing

  • wow, just wow

  • its flight sim

  • 0:18 ...You KNOW the camera guy ducked!

  • Music by MERLIN .....Fantastic sound!

  • What characteristics of the Merlin give it that magical sound?

  • For the first 37 seconds I thought it was a real stuff. =D

  • Spot on. Excellent rendering.

  • Love that engine sound!

  • fake

  • @Polybun well no shit?

  • Great vid! Too bad there are no airworthy Mosquitoes left. It was an awesome aircraft.

  • @billace90 There is one airworthy Misquito..

  • @Palexb14

No there isnt. there was, but it crashed. another is being restored right now. due to maiden in spring of 2011.
