  • charge + sentinel's armor = ownage!

  • I cant play a Vanguard on any other difficulty then Insane. All enemies have something protecting their health meaning no knock back. Charge + move forward + shotgun head shot = bye fucking bye to almost all targets.

The harbinger and enemies like him are a lawl as well. I also charge Scions on Insane too, two head shots and then walk back then repeat = win.

don't ever play this way unless your head is in the game or you'll be anally molested.

  • 0:50 Head shot fail

  • is this played on the PC? it seems like you only have to hit a button to do the abilities. wish it was like that for xbox..instead it pauses in action and you use a wheel to choose ability

  • u propel ur penis at the targets vagina with pure biotic energy

  • vanguard with cryo ammo and pull is so awesome, charge, not THAT much

  • wait, you need ammo now?

  • @lunchan128 If you dont know yet, which i think you do by now, then yes. You now have a limited ammo capacity and need to change "mags" you can say.

  • taking ammo powers to the max and leaving charge on lvl3. ...

do they actually pay these people to present us with classes?

  • "Can't reach the target." :-/

  • First time i played Mass Effect 2..i played a Vanguard. They are fucking crazy!

  • My favourite class.

    Screamingly crazy.

  • The only problem about Vanguard is that I just don't find other classes as fun any more..

  • "Vanguards did a lot of the heavy work in the Siege of Torfan. They knew it too and turned out to be glory hounds for it, which doesn't surprise me...your typical vanguard thinks he/she is hot shit. It also doesn't help that not many troops make the cut to be one and have to settle with being Soldiers or Adepts instead, which can naturally inflate one's ego." --Agent W Shepard on Vanguards

  • You are fighting Warden Kuril on purgatory yet you have thane and samara in your party technically you're not suppose to get them until after Horizon WTF

  • vanguards are a challenging class to play as especially on hardcore or insanity i can't count how many times i did a biotic charge only to get killed by a bunch of enemies

  • OMG I chose the wrong class ><

  • LOL awesome maniac Jedi with a shotgun who ever made this class is to awesome

    : )

The force is strong with the vanguard lol

    Thumb ups

  • charge gives u more shields people

  • can you get new armore in this game and how???

  • @julieno12 Ask Uncle Google....

The simple question is DLC, Dragon Age Bonus or Collectors' Edition. If you don't have those...tsk... tough.

  • @julieno12 Buy extra parts from stores in game, then change it in your captain's cabin on the Normandy...

  • hey i was wonderin what would be better, Adept or Vanguard... im used to playing soldier but that class sux and ide like to experiment a bit before me2 come out for ps3. ne ideas?

  • @Malex5151 vanguards is mostly for people who like to get up in the enemies faces and shotgun them. Adept usually only use their powers to take down the enemy. So it depends on your play style. Personally I like the adept better.

  • @Malex5151

Both the adept and the vanguard are Mid-short range based classes, respectively.

Short range combat is very powerful when using either, but you'd have to wait to get the shotgun training.

  • @Malex5151 IT depends on your playstyle. Adepts in ME2 really can take out a shitload of enemies "...without firing a shot." But adepts take alot of time before they get any good powers, so you'll kinda suck early and mid game. As for vanguards, charge is more useful than you might think; any enemy it hits is stunned long enough for you to unload 2 shots at point blank range. Of course, being an up close class, you'll be under fire alot and the only real long range ability they have is pull.

  • Vanguards can use Biotic Charge to close in on enemies. Heavy risk, but the priiize...

  • That BAAAAANNZZAAAAAIII-shotgun-in-your-face style is addictive as hell, passed insanity on Infiltrator and Vanguard, now I just feel weird when i cannot insta-charge-and-kill a guy with the Vanguard, or just pop my cloak up and blow someone's brains out with 1 single shot with the Infiltrator).

  • just finished doing vanguard insanity, after that experience, it's just so weird playing other classes

  • you're always saying

"When you play mass effect 2 you wanna play the vanguard/soldier/adept/infiltrator/engineer."

its getting boring saying the same thing 100 times

  • Vanguard has a long learning curve esp if u play insanity only like I do, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes extremely addictive. I can bull rush missions in no time. The thing is to know when to charge and know what to do after you charge. For instance. You see bunch mercs near a cover. You simply charge one, blast your shotgun into his face insta killing him and take cover. Once you get inferno ammo, shield upgrades, heavy biotic charge, you'll decimate anything ruthlessly.

  • Charging into a group is exactly what your suppose to do, your just suppose to know your exit strategy before you do. Especially if you have area charge, you can take out a bunch of enemies at once by charging into groups. I wouldn't do it too much early on, but definitely later in the game, when you can spam your powers and have a lot of health and shield upgrades, charge right in, you'll be fine.

  • soldier and vanguard are my favorite

  • vanguard class is really cool, the shield heal way faster than the other class, and i beat the game in hardcore mode without retry in any MISSION.

  • Comment removed

  • I would guess that 90% of the reoson people choose the vanguard class is because of the biotic charge.

  • used well, and on casual difficulty the charge isn't bad at all. equip the shotgun before you do, then charge and blast the MF it he gets up, it's nice. Downside is it's best used against single enemies in the open, charging into a group is not smart.

  • Is this a man or a woman. I really can't tell. I:(

  • @IsabalPortala That spam post is fucking hilarious.

  • @Toastynater it might refer to the upcoming Mass Effect movie that hasn't even been made yet :)

  • @hiperbolha Hmm, maybe it's getting information from IMDB? Interesting...

  • I decided to be a Vanguard. Even though you can only use certain armor and weapons, it's a good class.

  • "Save your self by charging away from a dangerous Situation"

Charges into a shit ton of enemies.

  • @terk0iz Meh, better than facing a YMIR mech up close. They'll tear you apart like they did Prazza's quarians from Freedom's Progress.

  • @terk0iz true man! it easy to charge in to alot more enemy but the charge delay is very fast try to max out the charge and you will see the different lol

  • @terk0iz Nah it is really works i used a lot of times charge it can really save you 1. The time you charging you cannot be harm so it is very effective dodge missiles or bigger biotics 2. It gives you the opprtunity to get in close combat i mean very close and with claymore shotgun it is very good becouse in close combat most of the armor barrier can be take down by one shot

and let not forget about it gives you a big amount of barrier and it can be use often so it is a lots barrier in fact :P

  • Well not if u can react fast enough to kill everything than u wont die easily

    =] still a awesome class

  • Biotic charge.... Extremely powerful, but an extremely suicidal move which usually has a terrible outcome. Played all the classes and this one is just the worst.

  • Just beat the game on Insanity using nothing but Biotic Charge, and my trusty Excavator Shotgun :D And Reave, can't forget that!

  • The best use of Biotic Charge is to get behind the enemy. Crossfire is pretty devastating as if enemy has targeted your teammate, they'll pay no attention to you leaving their backs exposed. So at least few enemies are completely open to your attack while others leave themselves open to your teammates instead.

  • You know, I don't think I've used the charge Once without some kind of sound.

  • I agree with the criticisms of the Vanguard class. Charge is grossly underpowered (as are nearly all biotic powers in ME2), and lacks that fun factor you would expect beforehand. But the shotgun is even worse. It's basically a rotten piece of ass. Completely useless. Heartbreaking for players who prefer the combo of biotics and a shotgun.

  • vanguard is the worst class shotguns have been seriously worsened the charge is crap and you only get like half the biotic powers I prefer soldiers and adepts altough adepts powers cant penetrate shields so soldier is my fave

  • And here I am thinking that the vanguard was just a combination of the adept and soldier without those two classes unique abilities.

Then holy shit I saw biotic charge.

  • has anyone els noticed that Shepards shields is blue (ofcourse), however when playing as either a Adept or Vanguard its purple, wich means its not a shield, its a Biotic barrier :P

  • I demand throw back!

  • i havents played the first one.. is this connected by any means to the first or i can play it without losing any part of the story?

  • @chicoulatas12333 You will miss A LOT! buy them both

  • I was Vanguard and after picking up the sniper rifle in the collector ship and switching over Grunt's special ability it was total badass. :D I think shockwave and inferno ammo are the two best powers. :)

  • Dame!!! I really didn't like the Vanguard class on the first Mass Effect, But i might think about making one for the second one... I like using the Infiltrator class. A Vanguard might be fun to use tho...

  • Anybody else has a weird habit of shouting "Leeeeroy Jeeenkins" everytime you use the Biotic Charge to carelessly propel yourself right into a bunch of enemies only to get yourself killed? Or is it just me?

  • OMFG, BROTHERRR D:!!!! :))))

  • @hiperbolha Well I usually scream ¨this is *(charging) SPARTAAAA!!!!.... and get pwn3d by a bunch of machine gunners)

  • @hiperbolha Nope, i even scream when i go to invisible mode

  • @hiperbolha its just you

  • @hiperbolha Actually, I was thinking of the L4D2 Charger charging noise.

  • @hiperbolha

    Sure, minus the dying part.

  • @hiperbolha i played the vanguard and beated the shit out of the game

  • @hiperbolha The Leeroy Jenkings getting old and was already used once in mass effect 1 with Richard L. Jenkins who was first to die. As subtle as it may have been :)

  • @hiperbolha XDDDDD

  • @hiperbolha nope, me and 98 others too

  • @hiperbolha i dun scream it anymore, instead i scream charge and play here comes the cavalry XD

  • @hiperbolha I do it too lol

  • terrific game. so addictive 2 play!! i test the games be 4 theyre release date by signing up to Beta Test Gamers - google them, its free to signup u only need 2 do a short review and u can keep the game

  • I like the video, i've seen it and i totaly choose for the vanguard

  • I've played me2 to death so I'm going back to ME1 for a renegade character (always played paragon) shotguns and some biotics were so nerfed in me2. Sniper rifles are the only thing improved.

  • vanguards are still very good on insanity, heavy charge with biotic duration cooldown upgrades and champion cooldown reduction will recharge your shields to full everytime you use it, just keep charging and using heavy charge's slowmo time to land shotgun headshots with the claymore/reposition behind cover for next charge

  • @AngryMonsterGW Hey quick question, mainly because you seem to know what you are talking about...when do you use the charge on insanity mode, I can only use it for the final kill or else the surrounding enmies will finish me off...and also, with an imported ME2 character can you Retrain your abilities? I messed up on my squad points. = P

  • @naruto0726 I agree with AngryMonsterGW. Vanguards are one of the best classes in Insanity, IMO. Charge *often*, because it will keep your shields up. The key to success is bringing the appropriate squad mates on missions so that you can use warp, overlord, incinerate, etc, to bring down protection layers. When facing multiple enemies, you want to quickly bring down the shields of one of them, charge that one, so they go flying, then quickly shotgun blast the guys next to him.

  • @SuperDonster Is your armor more geared to shield or health? I recommend health. Ive also notice it works better on synthetics, vorcha, lower life forms. But not so well on organics. If i remember correctly it works better on an enemies shields than it does their armor. It might also be what weapon/ammo your using. Incendiary ammo seems to be the best. Im not so sure what gun is my favorite, I like them all. But I guess heavy pistol with incendiary ammo. Destroyed Armored enemies in an instant.

  • All my gear is on health except I do have one piece that's set on shields +5%. I'll change it to health +5% and see if it works better. Also, I was using my maxed out Cryo ammo because if I actually freeze an enemy and hit them with a Claymore round or Charge burst, they sometimes instantly crumble. But, I will try the Incendiary rounds and my pistol. I know the pistol and Incendiary ammo destroy armor, so that is a good suggestion. Thanks

  • If you think Vanguards are bad in the higher difficulties, you need to take a look at sinosleep007's videos. His vanguard simply owns.

  • They are i tried one and it was insanely difficult

  • @ichiruki4ever12 u need to be carefull im vanguard all the way but after i got the barrier reseach and found new weapon training vangaurds kick ass on all fields but tech but once u get tali and legion on the same team that makes up for that and u pwn

  • vanguards are a pain in the butt to play as on insanity. biotic powers are useless against the armor/shields. and they seem to be lacking a bit in terms of health. which is ironic for a close quarters combat specialist.

  • does it have multiplayer?

  • No.

  • its a RPG, dude...

  • can you pull (or levitate in some way) your enemies then charge at them whilst they're in mid-air?

  • yes. and you will get an achiement

  • WOW!! and more WOW !! my character is a soldier; for more weapons, but this is great!!

  • Which Class Should I Choose???

    AnyOne..

  • @GooberProductionz - depends. I would chose soldier, but thats only because you get more weapons and ammo. But my second choice would definitely be Adept. Sentinel is not too bad either. But like I said, it depends on how you like to fight. Just watch these trailers and it should give you an idea of what you want. Stealthy Combat = Infiltrator, Close Encounters = Vanguard, Guns Galore = Soldier, Versatility and Defense = Sentinel, Crazy Powers = Adept, Tactical Combat = Engineer.

  • @GooberProductionz

Soldier, they have the most health and access to the most guns and ammo. They are the head of your attack force and in my opinion the toughest class in the game

  • the lady who does the voice over really loves the word "intense"

  • 0:50 inci saniyede baslayan olayda ki düşman resmen KEL.. sene olmuş nerdeyse 2200 , silahlar desen o biçim... herturlu yaşam formundan yaratıklar birbiriyle opusur koklasır halde ama!! hala kelliğe cozum bulunamamıs olması dusundurucu doğrusu :D

  • Çozum illaki bulunmusut. Aklına gelmicek teknolojiler var oyunda. Adamın tarzı odur bence:D

  • can we change to a vanguard once selected another classes plz help

  • no you need to start a new game.

  • i dont like how they oversimplified most of the game. i use to kick ass with the vanguard in the first one by using maxed out barrier, push, n that big shotgun blast. now its all gone. i die if i charge, cuz i dont have barrier to protect me anymore. n enemies have shields, armor, AND their health. Guess im gonna need another strategy now.

  • while in the middle of a charge cast the bonus ability geth shield , barrier or fortication. they will activate and be able to use again the moment charge is.

  • you can get barrier anyway though advanced training after Jacob's loyalty mission

  • whats a good bonus power for vanguard (the ones you get from loyality) i dont need ammo cause im going to use inferno ammo

  • @pipuk3 Fortification or geth shield boost, lets you charge without worrying about dying.

  • when i get this game eim eaither being a vanguard or senteneil becouse the sentinels a mix of vanguard and soldier

  • Anyone else find charge to not be that good? Im kinda new ive only recruited garrus and the scientist, but I seem to have to use Shockwave instead of charge MOST of the time, the damage for charge isnt that good, only seems good for getting away

  • I must play completely different to you coz I never use shockwave and found charge to be the most useful power in the game! Especially on higher difficulties where enemies rush you it is an instant reload and boosts your shields making it the perfect offensive yet defensive ability. I actually can't play as any other build after going vanguard especially for those reasons but also for the added flanking abilities it offers as well.

  • does this game have online multiplayer? is it good ? should i get this or bioshock 2

  • both

  • To flashof14:

the mass effect series has a reputation for never having multiplayer of any kind, always strict single player, the game is amazing, as for choosing this or bioshock 2, thats almost undecidable, because both games are gonna be some of the best of 2010

  • @tvap1122 mass effect 2 has sold over 2 mil copies first week. It OWNED every other game. :P

  • Bullshit, you can't teleport yourself to a safe place, they removed that -_- it only works on targets...

  • really?? that sucks

  • If you pay close attention, you'll notice that the person playing used Charge to get away from the Ymir Mech by charging a Blue Suns merc prison guard.

  • Just a quick question.... is Christina norman a guy or a woman? cause she/he sure sounds like a dude....

  • Christina Norman is a woman.

  • @JohnnyCartoon Thanks, that was going to drive me crazy all week. :D

  • was wondering the same xD

  • I'm halfway through the insane difficulty with my Adept. I stopped to play a Vanguard on Veteran. It feels so easy. I'm charging all the time and having a blast with it. Need more ammo for the shotgun though. I use the machine pistol more.

  • I like it, i was a vanguard on ME1 think gona be one in ME2, but in this game with every single class you can die eazy, no class is the *Greates of them all* Thats what i think. Because i have ME2 and did play alittle wih vanguard sentinel and solider

    1. I loved the soldier, but i love biotics as well.

    2. Sentinel great armor and overload.

    3. Vanguard is a good class but i'm playing on hardcore, is kindda eazy, but still you can die eazy if you ain't into cover.

  • FUCK i hate vangaurd. the soldier is A LOT more fun and easier

  • that Frozen Soldier getting charge tossed was priceless ;)

  • I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention it must have been me focusing on what the *LEAD GAMEPLAY DESIGNER* was talking about.

  • didn't they say "We have a story explanation for why your abilities may have changed"? In cased I missed it, I never saw it.

  • For anyone about to read this comment and do not want spoilers, don't continue reading as this is a minor spoiler

The explanation is in the intro, when Cerberus brought Shepard back to life you had the choice to change class and appearance, I guess really it's up to you're imagination as to why that is =P

  • From a man to a woman... SOmething like:

"I alvays fel like a woman deep in my heart" XD

  • I wouldn't even call that a minor spoiler. Something that takes place before you even get to control your character is hardly a spoiler.

  • lol YEAHH you guys want a spoiler, Heres a fucking spoiler!!! The black dudes is a traitor and Shepperd dies and the illusive man is reaper!!! HERES A FUCKING SPOILER!

  • Dont you mean that he is A reaper? :D cause there is severall of them :D and its Shepard not Shepperd xd

  • What? The black guy never betrayed me, are you sure he was loyal to you? Shepard never died for me x_X and at what point do you get to know that the illusive man is a reaper?

  • she sounds like someone from arby and the cheif

  • you know it's funny...

the charge can only be used when locked onto a target...

    without a target it's uselsss...

so without a target you cannot be strategic and flank enemies.

and without a target you cannot get away from danger...

    LIES! XD

  • HEY i played as a vanguard and kicked ass also you can use and assault rifle as a vanguard you just need to chosse that when given the option for advanced weapons training

  • wow that voice does sound like a stereotypical nerd but it's actually a girl....o.e

that Biotic Charge is SO broken...since it can go thru objects and for ME2 your powers recharge much faster so you can use them like every 10 seconds or so

  • it doesnt mean its broken...lol

  • erh.... it's supposed to go thru objects and it recharges in 6 seconds.

  • you get the shit kicked out of you way before you recharge, though

  • @thechaosofpeace

that's why you use Charge wisely, if you use it on a enemy while it's surrounded by other enemies of course you're gonna get your ass kicked lol, Charge is best for one enemy or if you maxed it out and choose to evolve it for the Radius effect one to hit multiple enemies

  • @HuskyShinobiChouji

I know, i know. I'm just saying that it's not that broken, because you can't actually spam it.

  • this looks like its probably better than a soldier class even without assault rifles but its all about a persons opinion i guess

  • i never choose other classes than the soldier. the other classes dont have assualt rifles and other cool stuff

  • Can vanguards learn to use assault rifles?

  • believe me play as a adept its much more satisfying and more tackle now because u have abilities that deal with all types of enemies and u can long distance them or shoot em down with a submachinegun

  • Im kind of regretting picking vangaurd, the charge skill isn't that useful IMO. When you charge you get so vulnerable and surrounded. I was hoping you can use charge without an enemy and use charge and shockwave together.

  • @gaminkalv ok so much for the cool charge attack....guess i'll go back to playing soldier. I hear there are fewer skills in me2, is that true?

  • no me2 has more skills than the original

  • its about the same amount. There are less RPG elements in this game and more shooter elements

  • just for kicks im gonna try and charge into a rocket once i get this game after school tomorrow. let the hilarity commence!

  • ALL HAIL VANGUARDS!

  • 1:18 OMG SO muCH BLOOD THAT ASARIS LITERALLY EXPLODED

  • That wasn't blood.. it was ice.

  • do not choose vanguard if u are going to play on insanity

bcharge will only get u killed

  • i have a FEELING that the charge ability will get me stuck in places.

  • i only had time for 1 playthrough of ME1, since i got it at christmas... thank god i chose vanguard =D

  • it doesnt matter which class you played as in the first game, because you get to change or keep your class when you start ME2

  • ha ps3 has nothing to rival with mass effect 3 another great reason why i bought a 360

  • Honestly, vanguard and soldier seem to be the best for fps fans, adepts and engineers seem like support classes to me, since they wouldnt last as long in a gunfight

  • Right. I'll play it through importing my ME1-Vanguard first to get to know all the companions. Then, on my second playthrough I know my mates' trades and will know who to take with me, so that I'll get along playing a more supportive class like the engineer. If you got Grunt and Jacob, I'm sure you're good to go as an Engineer or an Adept ;)

(Pardon my spelling - I'm a piece of "Euro trash")

  • @CalamityCain Im thinking of importing my vanguard to play through first time on normal difficulty and then make a soldier for insane, thought it might be easier.

  • Oh I beg to differ. I played as an Adept and it was insane.

  • In ME1, playing my evil Vanguard with his biker gang moustache (lol) I loved to use the sprint mode to tackle the livin' shit outta all the enemies ('cept for Geth Destroyers and Krogan) and never let them get up, using the shotgun at close range - total pwnage!

My question is: Does anyone know, if the sprint assault's still in the game? I don't think, I've seen it so far. Sure, a Vanguard won't need the tackle anymore, due to Biotic Charge. But soldiers and the others? No tackling anymore?

  • getting it 2morow

  • i wonder why adepts won't get the charge.

  • because they have singularity.

  • @mindf1ow

hmm...that's the best explanation i've heard so far.
