I saw these guys back in the mid 80's and also saw them leave the arena. 4 Horseman left in an old Buick Skylark, not a Limo and Tully was driving LOL!
Ric always had a great answer for everything. With all the charismatic, great wrestlers there are today all of them are "light years away" from a guy that performed in the 80's. There will never be anyone that even comes close to this guy.
This single-handedly is why wrestlers should do their OWN promos and not have a hollywood writer who knows nothing about wrestling to write their promos. NO-ONE should write a wrestlers promos, only the wrestler should do them.
This is wwe sucks and tna is the only mainstream promotion worth watching.
@antidiz Take out Barry Windham, and put in Ric Flair. Flair, the Andersons, and Blanchard were THE original Horsemen. I heard Ric Flair on an episode of Legends of Wrestling where he said that the best version of the Horsemen were himself, Blanchard, Arn Anderson, and Windham. Can't argue with that.
NOTHING they can produce today will come anywhere near as good as this era of wraslin. The whole atmosphere from the roar of the fans, to the feuds will forever be ingrained in the memories of ours that were fans during this time.
Its just the way they held those belts. To there lower waist sides, plates out, so you can see the front of the belt and them holding it. Like a trophy. You don't see belts like trophy's in today's wrestling.
I grew up watching the 80's wrestling..."Dont Miss it....BEEEEE THERRREEE" in Atlanta LOL, those were the days! Dont watch it anymore, I have tried but its not the same.
I'll bet thost guys got toghether after the matches and probably partied toghether and had a good time after they beat crap out of each other! Man those were the days when WRESTING was fun to watch and it could be pretty damn funny, you never heard of those guys getting into drug rehab or steroids or other bull shit..they ENTERTAINED The crowd and did a damned good job of doing it...Nowadays...its just a damn shame..
@Paladin1441 You guessed right. Read Flair's book, these guys really did live the life. Party all night, bag a couple of hours of sleep, wrestle. then party all over again. Woooooooooo!
@Paladin1441 They did party I got to meet Flair several times and I've seen him before and after matches One time Flair and two other wrestlers including Ron Bass and referee Tommy Young were at a convience store in Fayetteville NC after a match and Bass dropped an 8 pack of Ponys .Smashed beer bottles were all over the floor. Thet were driving back to Raliegh, Those were the days of Jim Crockett Promotion circa 1981.
wow this was a great promo but the horseman werent as good as the nwo simply because they didn't draw anywere near as well as the nwo sorry flair fans but there had to be a few hundred people in that audience compared to how many thousands were on nitro in the nwo heyday as for hogan cuitting a promo he cut great promos as hollywood hogan in fact I put him up there almost with rock but of course rock was still better hogan came close though now when he was the babyface hogan his promos sucked
As far as attendance is concerned you are right, but the landscape was different back then. When this promo was cut there were at least 5 promotions with strong bases (granted the wwf and nwa were top 2). You had the wwf, nwa, wccw, awa, and memphis. It was more regional, so you wouldn't get the big big crowds. You are right Hollywood Hogan did cut good promos, but not as good as flair imho
I totally agree with you on everything flair cut greats promos too as for all the territories I remember them I have been watching wrestling since 83 so I know all about them and I miss those days wrestling has never been as stale as it is now cause vince eliminated nearly all his competition that's y I'm pulling for tna to really succeed
I agree. Vince's vision of eliminating his competition has really hurt the business Regions allowed us to gravitate to guys we felt represented our regions and the thought of whose regions guy was the best was great talk. I hope tna succeeds or that some wrestlers (harts and macho man)would join up and create a promo. in this time of global reach/internet era, you would think a decent upstart would pop up at least we have youtube :)
what hurts the business the most is the lack of the big suprise such as ric flair jumping ship and joining wwe like he did in 1991 after he left wcw or even a guy like vader leaving wcw and joining wwe now I know vader had a bad stint in wwe but there was always that "how is vince gonna use vader" or flair excitement that made u have to keep watching it to see how it all turns out well now that element is basically gone from wrestling
4 Horsemen was the best stable of wrestlers ever. It wasn't just about their talent, but more so the allure. They were like wrestling, playboy, cowboy, mafioso.
On another note can we say Tully fn* Blanchard. That brings me back Woooooo! 4H 4 life!
I agree with your list except Miss Elizabeth. She has no credibility as a manager and served no purpose. Randy always bossed her around and at times told her to leave. I would have put Jimmy Hart and Gary Hart on that list before Miss Elizabeth.
"The Horsemen " weren't made, planned , or scripted. One night they were giving a group promo and AA said something about raining down like the four horsemen of The Apocalypse ...
The next thing you know the fans were making signs...and they ran with it.
In the WCW it had trouble. A lot of fans still loved them. They got a huge pop when they "reunited"(beat RAW at a time when nitro didn't beat RAW anymore), but couldn't sustain it. How are 4 guys supposed to beat 20 or 30...the NWO
I never understood why NWA/WCW kept bringing back the FOur Horsemen the orginal four horsemen good stuff but after Tully, Ole & ARn were gone they should have left it dead. I always thought it was Flair and Arn trying to push the old dead horse on Turner and the Croketts. It always made me want to turn WCW off with all the Horsemen ga ga in the early to mid 90s. Horsemen were more drawn out then the nwo. Nwo lasted 3 years, the horsemen was like 10!
I've found that for some reason that you HBK haters never say you're always selling this man short. Jake the Snake was 6th. Who is he knocking off above him. And if you watch Michaels stick work over the years, you'll see his #5 spot is justified. I can't put Jake over Superstar, the most influential wrestler on the mic in the last 30 years. I can't put Jake over Dusty. Dust was just as good is not better. You tell me where Jake should have been?
Jake is better than both michaels and the rock. the rock is the most overrated promo cutter of all-time. no disrespect, he was good, but never great in my opinion. his interviews were all very similar and scripted. Flair, Roberts, Double A, Rhodes, and Jim Cornette were awesome on the stick. the guy everyone forgets is jerry lawler. he was another great promo cutter.
You need to offer up proof that The Rock's promos were scripted. There is no evidence that was ever the case. Cornette was originally #8 in my top 10 but people were complaining about wrestlers and managers so i'm doing a manager's list separately and he will be on there. People still selling HBK short.
i don't have proof but i have heard that and even if they weren't scripted they weren't great. the rock is funny and has tons of charisma but he doesn't hold a candle to flair, rhodes, roberts, piper, etc. on the mic. your manager list is ok but albano ahead of cornette? cornette and heenan are the best managers and there isn't even anyone close behind them.
Sounds like you the only one that feels that way about The Rock. Then again, you think Hogan is one of the best ever at cutting a promo. Rock improvised his stuff. Hogan couldn't. Obviously you don't know Albano's legacy if you putting Cornette ahead of him..
you are replying to the wrong one because the rock is head and shoulders above hogan when it comes to cutting promos. all i said was the rock isn't the 2nd best of all-time on the stick. he is more like 8 or 9 in my book. my top 10 is.. 10. HBK 9. Steve Austin 8. The Rock 7. Roddy Piper 6. (tie) Jerry Lawler/ Gino Hernandez 5. Arn Anderson 4. Jim Cornette 3. Jake Roberts 2. Dusty Rhodes 1. Ric Flair You can't beat that list bro.
Where is Superstar Billy Graham? Your list lacks lots of credibility without Superstar on it. Gino Hernandez and Lawler aren't top 10. The Rock and HBK are wayyyyyyyyyyy too low. To omit the Superstar is inexcusable. Cornette is good but he's not better than HBK, AA, Rock or Piper. I already beat your list. Unlike you, I actually researched mine.
what do you mean do research? that's lame. i have watched wrestling for the last 25 years so that's my research. HBK or the Rock can't compete with gino or lawler and gino was still in his 20's when he died. i'm surprised with your shitty list you didn't include triple h or batista in it.
Lame b/c your trifling ass can't do it. I've been watching wrestling for the last 33 years so you're lazy and trifling. Batista and Triple H are considered two of the worst on the mike. Your sarcasm doesn't move me. Gino better than Superstar on the mike? Sure he is. Lawler better than Superstar? Sure he is. Wrote your list on toilet paper huh. Then again, you think Hogan, a bad Superstar Billy Graham ripoff, should have made my list. You keep dreaming.
I've gotten wayyyyyyyyyyyy more compliments for my list than the one you wrote on some toilet paper. No list that does not include Superstar Billy Graham as one of the best ever on the mike is credible. The list of guys who still copy Graham 30 years after his prime reads like a who's who in wrestling. Gino was good but on his best day, he couldn't touch Superstar. When you stop freebasing, send us the real list. Go to rehab first.
I agree with most of what you said, but there is no way Piper is #7. 1 or 2 at least. Even his cohorts say that he was the best on the mic. I totally agree with you about the Rock.
i love them both on the mic. Pillman's lack of longevity was the only thing working against him. Shane never should have done the whole Dean Douglas crap.
Best of the Best ever on the mic 10-1: 10. Stone Cold Steve Austin 9. Mick Foley 8. Rowdy Roddy Piper 7. Arn Anderson 6. Jake "The Snake" Roberts 5. Shawn Michaels 3. (tie)Superstar Billy Graham - extremely influential even 30 years later; the black Muhammad Ali. Preacher in real life. 3. (tie)American Dream Dusty Rhodes 2. The Rock 1. Ric Flair - The Gold Standard; Nature Boy never ever did a bad promo; The Top 5 should be mandatory viewing for any wannabe wrestler
Best of the Best on the mic (20-11): 20. Austin Idol 19. Ernie Ladd "Big Cat" - intimidating and very funny 18. Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig 17. Ted DiBiase 16. Ole Anderson 15. Bruiser Brody 14. Tully Blanchard - most underrated of the Four Horsemen 13. Michael P.S. Hayes - poor man's Ric Flair 12. Chris Jericho/Rick Rude (tie) 11. Nick Bockwinkel -extremely articulate on the mic....... don't see your faves yet? don't panic. i'm going to sleep then I'm going to drop 10-1 on you. lots of changes...
this is old but I have to comment a new horsemen I think should be wcw based with Regal, Jericho, big show, and Mysterio. With regal and jericho always infighting over control it can be done with Arn Anderson blessing and managing with a few interviews from him too.
rockers where top class jobbers. I think a lot of the 1980's wwf tag teams where overrated. where is the steiner brothers??? midnight express, rock n roll express or the freebirds. I always thought the nwa/wcw had better tag teams.
Right! How 'bout Ole & Gene, Ole & Arn, Arn & Tully...hell, Arn & ANYBODY?!!! I think Arn also won gold with Beautiful Bobby, Larry Zbysko, and Paul Roma.
arn had the tag team titles with barry windham also around that time. he always had the tag team titles with all them guys. lot of people dont remember that. sting and luger where tag team partners for years.
There's no prestige in holding a title anymore. Wrestling is just a circus now. The Horsemen knew how to carry themselves with dignity and championship demeanor.
Shawn Micheals 4th??..no superstar graham??.....debate rages on ...but It's Flair ,Rhodes, Graham , Anderson,Rock ,Hayes, Piper,Austin,Micheals and slip in the Macho Man 10th.......and anyone got a 10 greatest tag team list???........then we'll see the real wrestling fans
I'll take a hack at a top ten list for tag teams: #1- Arn and Tully #2- Road Warriors #3- Rock and Roll Express #4- Minnesots Wrecking Crew #5- Freebirds #6- The Dudleys #7- Steiners #8- British Bulldogs #9- Harlem Heat #10- The Outsiders
a true wrestling fan........1 and 2 can go either way...........not sure I'd put R&R express ahead of Minnesota.......but a great list!!!......check out the Flair and Horsemen dvd....awesome!!
Here is my top 10.. Hart Foundation Hardys Edge & Christian Road Warriors British Bulldogs Money Inc. The Outsiders Kane & The Undertaker Rockers D-Generation X
I stock to teams with names not trow togethers 1. Road warriors 2. Duddly boys 3. outsiders 4. Hardy boys 5. Harlem heat 6. Edge and Christian (wish they had name) 7. steiners 8. New age outlaws 9. Demolition 10. old hart foundation
You were high as hell when you came up with this. I was down with the list until I saw where the steiners were ranked. Steiners belong second. Cool list other than that.
Wow! Hardy Boys are better than Heat and Steiners? Never. Steiners dominated everywhere they've been. Japan, WCW, WWF/E. There's only one tag team better than the Steiners and that's the Road Warriors.
The Steiners might be a good tag team but I'm also taking into account Marketablity and entertainment factor. the Steiners never jump into my head as an exciting tag team.
It's wrestling, not entertainment. PWI ranked them the second best tag team of all time and so did I. How many t-shirts they sell don't have anything to do with it. Truth be told, the Steiners would crush the Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian inside of 10 minutes each. Too big, too powerful and much better wrestlers to boot.
Hey we talking about wrestling not marketability and entertainment nonsense. Steiners are more marketable and miles and away better wrestlers than the Hardys.
what Hogan not on the top 20 no way. I can see him not making the top 10 but he's up there in the top 20. everybody that copies and mocks wrestling interviews always does a Hogan impersanation with all the brothers and what you gonna does. off topic my spell check reads gonna as a word.
Hogan is widely considered to be one of the worst ever on the mike. So bad in fact that Vince always gave him the same script and Hogan still botched promo after promo. His promos were boring and repetitive. You act like Hogan is the only one or the first that said "brother." Hogan is considered a Superstar ripoff, and a very bad one at that. Scott Hall sober did better promos than Hogan. And it's impersonation.
u think Michaels was better on the mic than Stone in his prime??? very debatable! U left "Supertsar Billy" off the list!! He's a strong 7..better than Michael Hayes whom by the way is like 12th all time...
I thought about Superstar Billy Graham for this list. Now who do I take off to put The Superstar in the Top 10? If you noticed, Michael Hayes always cut most of The Freebirds' promos and with good reason. An excellent talker. Michaels always has been better on the mic than Austin. It's not even close. In the Blondes, Pillman was far and away the best talker of that group. Michaels was hot on the mic everywhere. Austin couldn't do much on the mic in WCW. In ECW was when he got mic skills.
u see i go to debate the "blondes" refernce because the pillman front played itself out, and the reality is Stone ended up way better than Pillman(r.i.p)...and history proved that. I think "On the Mic" should be a category with no deliniation. Either you we're good on it or not..wrestler or managaer or whatever!! it was an art to itself agreed??
10 best talkers in pro wrestling history: 1. Ric Flair - The Gold Standard 2. The Rock 3. Dusty Rhodes 4. Shawn Michaels 5. Arn Anderson 6. Rowdy Roddy Piper 7. Jim Cornette 8. Stone Cold Steve Austin 9. Mick Foley 10. Freebird Michael P.S. Hayes
u got to rank Cornette higher than that..he's at least 4 on that list...
also you forgot the MACHO MAN!!!!! what are you serious?? he's like number three all time..gibberish and all!!...1 and 2 on your list are cool..Arn and Dusty we're a tie probably both at 5. and Mick Foley probably is 11, Ole Anderson at #10..(79-87 Ole)..
Ranking Cornette #4 puts him higher than Michaels and AA. Can't do that. Michaels is extremely underrated on the mic and he's extremely versatile. Flair didn't pass the torch to him by accident. AA in the promo that named The Horsemen is an all-time classic. Great talker. Didn't forget Macho Man. Spewing gibberish does not make you a great talker. Maybe a great gimmick but not great on the mic. Ole just missed out but he's extremely underrated too. Come on Big Dust Top 3 any list.
Michaels is great, no denying it....however Cornette was a riot inducing, bar burner!! His promo's had no PC..some of the best interviews ever, i think what seperates the 2 is approach...Michaels is cocky, and clever..cornette is cocky, clever, and quick witted!! i mean next level wit!! That's where i seperate the 2..it's close though!!
Finally the 4 horsemen are now in the hall of fame

I hope tna succeeds or that some wrestlers (harts and macho man)would join up and create a promo. in this time of global reach/internet era, you would think a decent upstart would pop up at least we have youtube :)
dare2727 2 years ago
what hurts the business the most is the lack of the big suprise such as ric flair jumping ship and joining wwe like he did in 1991 after he left wcw or even a guy like vader leaving wcw and joining wwe now I know vader had a bad stint in wwe but there was always that "how is vince gonna use vader" or flair excitement that made u have to keep watching it to see how it all turns out well now that element is basically gone from wrestling

4 Horsemen was the best stable of wrestlers ever. It wasn't just about their talent, but more so the allure. They were like wrestling, playboy, cowboy, mafioso.
On another note can we say Tully fn* Blanchard. That brings me back Woooooo! 4H 4 life!

Best managers ever in pro wrestling:
1. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan
2. Captain Lou Albano
3. James J. Dillon - managed the Four Horsemen, enough said.
4. Jim Cornette
5. Classy Freddie Blassie
6. Miss Elizabeth
TheLuscious 2 years ago
I agree with your list except Miss Elizabeth. She has no credibility as a manager and served no purpose. Randy always bossed her around and at times told her to leave. I would have put Jimmy Hart and Gary Hart on that list before Miss Elizabeth.
Koolazzmike 2 years ago
U 4 got Jimmy Hart!!! And Jimmy managed more Champions than all of these guys...Liz? cum on bro.
SydneyRico69 2 years ago
You have a very very valid point. I will revisit my list. We all agree that Heenan is the best manager ever, no?
TheLuscious 2 years ago
Thanks. Ummm yea ill put him at ! cause on his mic skills is a lil betta than Jimmy.

1.LOD 2.THE DUDLEYS 3.the Steiners 4.ARN AND TULLY 5.HARLEM HEAT THATS MY LIST

"The Horsemen " weren't made, planned , or scripted. One night they were giving a group promo and AA said something about raining down like the four horsemen of The Apocalypse ...
The next thing you know the fans were making signs...and they ran with it.
In the WCW it had trouble. A lot of fans still loved them. They got a huge pop when they "reunited"(beat RAW at a time when nitro didn't beat RAW anymore), but couldn't sustain it. How are 4 guys supposed to beat 20 or 30...the NWO
aj31313 2 years ago
A few more tag teams that could make any list
Brody & Hansen (hell, brody and anybody)
Funks
Briscos
Valentine and Flair (never beaten for the titles, the were stripped LOL)
Koloffs
Shiek & Volkov
Not arguing just food for thought.
aj31313 2 years ago
I never understood why NWA/WCW kept bringing back the FOur Horsemen the orginal four horsemen good stuff but after Tully, Ole & ARn were gone they should have left it dead. I always thought it was Flair and Arn trying to push the old dead horse on Turner and the Croketts. It always made me want to turn WCW off with all the Horsemen ga ga in the early to mid 90s. Horsemen were more drawn out then the nwo. Nwo lasted 3 years, the horsemen was like 10!

my only complaint is that michaels is a little high and that jake the snakes ranking is too low
Matt0496 2 years ago
I've found that for some reason that you HBK haters never say you're always selling this man short. Jake the Snake was 6th. Who is he knocking off above him. And if you watch Michaels stick work over the years, you'll see his #5 spot is justified. I can't put Jake over Superstar, the most influential wrestler on the mic in the last 30 years. I can't put Jake over Dusty. Dust was just as good is not better. You tell me where Jake should have been?
TheLuscious 2 years ago
Jake is better than both michaels and the rock. the rock is the most overrated promo cutter of all-time. no disrespect, he was good, but never great in my opinion. his interviews were all very similar and scripted. Flair, Roberts, Double A, Rhodes, and Jim Cornette were awesome on the stick. the guy everyone forgets is jerry lawler. he was another great promo cutter.
bull864 2 years ago
You need to offer up proof that The Rock's promos were scripted. There is no evidence that was ever the case. Cornette was originally #8 in my top 10 but people were complaining about wrestlers and managers so i'm doing a manager's list separately and he will be on there. People still selling HBK short.
TheLuscious 2 years ago
i don't have proof but i have heard that and even if they weren't scripted they weren't great. the rock is funny and has tons of charisma but he doesn't hold a candle to flair, rhodes, roberts, piper, etc. on the mic. your manager list is ok but albano ahead of cornette? cornette and heenan are the best managers and there isn't even anyone close behind them.
bull864 2 years ago
Sounds like you the only one that feels that way about The Rock. Then again, you think Hogan is one of the best ever at cutting a promo. Rock improvised his stuff. Hogan couldn't. Obviously you don't know Albano's legacy if you putting Cornette ahead of him..
TheLuscious 2 years ago
bull864 2 years ago
Where is Superstar Billy Graham? Your list lacks lots of credibility without Superstar on it. Gino Hernandez and Lawler aren't top 10. The Rock and HBK are wayyyyyyyyyyy too low. To omit the Superstar is inexcusable. Cornette is good but he's not better than HBK, AA, Rock or Piper. I already beat your list. Unlike you, I actually researched mine.
TheLuscious 2 years ago
what do you mean do research? that's lame. i have watched wrestling for the last 25 years so that's my research. HBK or the Rock can't compete with gino or lawler and gino was still in his 20's when he died. i'm surprised with your shitty list you didn't include triple h or batista in it.
bull864 2 years ago
Lame b/c your trifling ass can't do it. I've been watching wrestling for the last 33 years so you're lazy and trifling. Batista and Triple H are considered two of the worst on the mike. Your sarcasm doesn't move me. Gino better than Superstar on the mike? Sure he is. Lawler better than Superstar? Sure he is. Wrote your list on toilet paper huh. Then again, you think Hogan, a bad Superstar Billy Graham ripoff, should have made my list. You keep dreaming.
TheLuscious 2 years ago
why do you keep saying i said hogan should be on your list? you don't have a clue about a quality list or about what i have said.
bull864 2 years ago
I've gotten wayyyyyyyyyyyy more compliments for my list than the one you wrote on some toilet paper. No list that does not include Superstar Billy Graham as one of the best ever on the mike is credible. The list of guys who still copy Graham 30 years after his prime reads like a who's who in wrestling. Gino was good but on his best day, he couldn't touch Superstar. When you stop freebasing, send us the real list. Go to rehab first.
TheLuscious 2 years ago
I agree with most of what you said, but there is no way Piper is #7. 1 or 2 at least. Even his cohorts say that he was the best on the mic. I totally agree with you about the Rock.

U dont like Brain Pillman and Shane Douglas?
SydneyRico69 2 years ago
@SydneyRico69 pillman was good but douglas pretty average.
bull864 2 years ago
I think in ECW he was up there wit tha big boys, but anywhere else, mayb, mayb, he was average.

I didn't watch ECW so i can't really say what he was up there so i take your word for it.

1. TIE-Ric Flair/Roddy piper

7. Rick Rude
8. Mick Foley
9. Arn Anderson
10. Ole Anderson

this is old but I have to comment a new horsemen I think should be wcw based with Regal, Jericho, big show, and Mysterio. With regal and jericho always infighting over control it can be done with Arn Anderson blessing and managing with a few interviews from him too.
hollywoodjokerpicalo 2 years ago
rockers where top class jobbers. I think a lot of the 1980's wwf tag teams where overrated. where is the steiner brothers??? midnight express, rock n roll express or the freebirds. I always thought the nwa/wcw had better tag teams.
goodlookin41 2 years ago

You gotta rank them. It's no fun if they're not ranked. Definitely worth a +1.
TheLuscious 2 years ago
hollywoodjokerpicalo 2 years ago
You were high as hell when you came up with this. I was down with the list until I saw where the steiners were ranked. Steiners belong second. Cool list other than that.
TheLuscious 2 years ago
Wow! Hardy Boys are better than Heat and Steiners? Never. Steiners dominated everywhere they've been. Japan, WCW, WWF/E. There's only one tag team better than the Steiners and that's the Road Warriors.
TheLuscious 2 years ago
The Steiners might be a good tag team but I'm also taking into account Marketablity and entertainment factor. the Steiners never jump into my head as an exciting tag team.
hollywoodjokerpicalo 2 years ago
It's wrestling, not entertainment. PWI ranked them the second best tag team of all time and so did I. How many t-shirts they sell don't have anything to do with it. Truth be told, the Steiners would crush the Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian inside of 10 minutes each. Too big, too powerful and much better wrestlers to boot.
TheLuscious 2 years ago
Hey we talking about wrestling not marketability and entertainment nonsense. Steiners are more marketable and miles and away better wrestlers than the Hardys.
TheLuscious 2 years ago
Check my list now of the best ever on the mike. I redid it. Superstar? Made it I made it a top 20 and no Hogan, Macho, Hart didn't make it.
TheLuscious 2 years ago
what Hogan not on the top 20 no way. I can see him not making the top 10 but he's up there in the top 20. everybody that copies and mocks wrestling interviews always does a Hogan impersanation with all the brothers and what you gonna does. off topic my spell check reads gonna as a word.
hollywoodjokerpicalo 2 years ago
Hogan is widely considered to be one of the worst ever on the mike. So bad in fact that Vince always gave him the same script and Hogan still botched promo after promo. His promos were boring and repetitive. You act like Hogan is the only one or the first that said "brother." Hogan is considered a Superstar ripoff, and a very bad one at that. Scott Hall sober did better promos than Hogan. And it's impersonation.
TheLuscious 2 years ago
u think Michaels was better on the mic than Stone in his prime??? very debatable! U left "Supertsar Billy" off the list!! He's a strong 7..better than Michael Hayes whom by the way is like 12th all time...
T74G 2 years ago
I thought about Superstar Billy Graham for this list. Now who do I take off to put The Superstar in the Top 10? If you noticed, Michael Hayes always cut most of The Freebirds' promos and with good reason. An excellent talker. Michaels always has been better on the mic than Austin. It's not even close. In the Blondes, Pillman was far and away the best talker of that group. Michaels was hot on the mic everywhere. Austin couldn't do much on the mic in WCW. In ECW was when he got mic skills.
TheLuscious 2 years ago
u see i go to debate the "blondes" refernce because the pillman front played itself out, and the reality is Stone ended up way better than Pillman(r.i.p)...and history proved that. I think "On the Mic" should be a category with no deliniation. Either you we're good on it or not..wrestler or managaer or whatever!! it was an art to itself agreed??
T74G 2 years ago
TheLuscious 2 years ago
u got to rank Cornette higher than that..he's at least 4 on that list...
also you forgot the MACHO MAN!!!!! what are you serious?? he's like number three all time..gibberish and all!!...1 and 2 on your list are cool..Arn and Dusty we're a tie probably both at 5. and Mick Foley probably is 11, Ole Anderson at #10..(79-87 Ole)..
T74G 2 years ago
Ranking Cornette #4 puts him higher than Michaels and AA. Can't do that. Michaels is extremely underrated on the mic and he's extremely versatile. Flair didn't pass the torch to him by accident. AA in the promo that named The Horsemen is an all-time classic. Great talker. Didn't forget Macho Man. Spewing gibberish does not make you a great talker. Maybe a great gimmick but not great on the mic. Ole just missed out but he's extremely underrated too. Come on Big Dust Top 3 any list.
TheLuscious 2 years ago
Michaels is great, no denying it....however Cornette was a riot inducing, bar burner!! His promo's had no PC..some of the best interviews ever, i think what seperates the 2 is approach...Michaels is cocky, and clever..cornette is cocky, clever, and quick witted!! i mean next level wit!! That's where i seperate the 2..it's close though!!
T74G 2 years ago
top promo people are
1. Arn Anderson
2.Stone Cold
3.Willeam Regal
4. Dusty Rohodes
