LOL, Thanks Jason. Yeah, it was fun until everything was malfunctioning on a regular basis. Finally decided it wasn't important enough to maintain, so I left. Like twitter, I was battling the temptation to close my account every time I logged in.

It's not really important, what counts is that we're still here.. enjoying what we do, and what others do, laughing at, crying at.. walking off in anger to, or finding solace from fellow YouTubers videos. Some people have been moaning to me lately that their old friends do not comment anymore, I think a lot is down to the subs pages at the moment actually but I do think we should welcome new YouTubers with open arms, it keeps the site exciting. Trouble is, some people think "I don't need to make that video, I covered that in 2007!" Make it again! Maybe we should have a "Remake Week!":)

i felt kinda bad about our last exchange because it probably came across like I was taking issue more strongly than I was (the drawback to text communication). I love cat videos as much as the next person (the warm fuzzy factor in those is off the charts, lol). I just wish my cats were more cooperative - every time they do something interesting and I turn my camera on them, they stop doing the interesting stuff they were doing and stare at me. Oy!
I'm only fairly new to watching your videos but have watched them all and really love the fact that you are still around and making videos. Many of the original "founding" tubers have moved on the other things. It's great to see some of the old timer's still around and making great videos. Here's to another 3 years at least!
I wandered in here thanks to a discussion on a fan forum. People were linking clips to TV shows and after I finally graduated from a dial-up connection, I followed one.
It was either a clip from the TV series Knots Landing that I first viewed, or it could have been that "Free Hugs Campaign" video. Memory is a bit fuzzy there.

Rob, your videos are often more thoughtful and insightful than mine. I don't remember surfing away from your channel without having some brain cells woken up.
FB was cool for a while and I get why you and so many others are into it. Something tells me that it still would've lost me at some point, but it was great for getting back in touch with a few old friends. MySpace offered the same perk 3 or 4 years ago when I had an account.

I understand that some people move on for various reasons, but I don't understand why people close their accounts. It's not like there's any financial upkeep to keep the account open in the event they change their mind and return. Ah well.
Good point, Matt. I can only relate possible reasons to why I've shut down accounts on other sites - I didn't want to leave unattended messes behind. But at least with video there's seemingly more potential for things to continue having a purpose.

Like I have said many times..great people like you have helped me in the healing process of this knee....I have to say many of your videos have given me goosebumps because they actually cause me to reflect on subjects I wouldnt ordinary give a damn about. i felt kinda bad about our last exchange because it probably came across like I was taking issue more strongly than I was (the drawback to text communication). I love cat videos as much as the next person (the warm fuzzy factor in those is off the charts, lol). I just wish my cats were more cooperative - every time they do something interesting and I turn my camera on them, they stop doing the interesting stuff they were doing and stare at me. Oy!

I'm only fairly new to watching your videos but have watched them all and really love the fact that you are still around and making videos. Many of the original "founding" tubers have moved on the other things. It's great to see some of the old timer's still around and making great videos. Here's to another 3 years at least!

I wandered in here thanks to a discussion on a fan forum. People were linking clips to TV shows and after I finally graduated from a dial-up connection, I followed one.
It was either a clip from the TV series Knots Landing that I first viewed, or it could have been that "Free Hugs Campaign" video. Memory is a bit fuzzy there.

For me it was skydiving, I had booked in for my first solo skydive leason, and I wanted to see what to expect on my first jump.

My first solo skydives where done March 2007, but I did the tandem skydive, bungy jump, hanglider ect on my 2003 and 2004 trips to New Zealand.

The instant and daily interactions on there with friends old and new keep me going back to it, but I understand why you've left it alone. I'd probably do the same if I had the raft of problems you kept encountering. So long as you stay on here that's all that counts!

Rob, your videos are often more thoughtful and insightful than mine. I don't remember surfing away from your channel without having some brain cells woken up.
FB was cool for a while and I get why you and so many others are into it. Something tells me that it still would've lost me at some point, but it was great for getting back in touch with a few old friends. MySpace offered the same perk 3 or 4 years ago when I had an account.

Good point, Matt. I can only relate possible reasons to why I've shut down accounts on other sites - I didn't want to leave unattended messes behind. But at least with video there's seemingly more potential for things to continue having a purpose.

It was hard to leave the Synic behind but it turned out to feel much better than I thought it would.
I figured out how to save my vids, though, so that they're at least preserved along with the comments
and if I ever get muted again (the only reason I've ever deleted vids), I have a cheat to get around THAT, too.
I'm crafty that way.

Good one, Curt! I remember when you joined that video community where you can upload videos that lasted like 18 or 30 seconds (ADD/ADHD paradise!) and were thinking of joining other video sites.
