That kinda looks like Washington Hwy 24 between Vernita Bridge and Othello...It would make sense considering it's got straight stretches 10+ miles long, and it's very close to Tri-Cities where the SSC's are made...
Back in the 60's and early 70's here in the US there were the muscle car wars. GM, Ford, and Mopar all trying to prove who had the quickest car in the 1/4 mile. Maybe this rivalry between the Bugatti and the SSC will turn into something like that. Now THAT would be bad ass! Personally I prefer the SSC. lol you're wrong bud. The SSC is much accelerates faster, has a higher top speed, has all the luxuries the Veyron has (NAV, leather etc.) has half the turbos, half the cylinders, and costs 3 times less.

your crazy, the veyron is what of the line. the only way the viper will beat the veyron is at a rolling start at about 80 mph. the veyron will go 0-125 in 7.3 seconds. and 0-150 in 8.5 seconds. viper to much torque and is a drag strip car. totally different league. and by the way the ssc has 1200 hp at the weels and weighs 2700 pounds. the ssc will inialate the veyron if it could hook up and shit on the viper.
the dodge viper can out accelerate both of these cars.....off the line the bugatti is horrible. The bugatti is a heavy luxury car not a drag car....look it up kids. A twin turbo viper is faster 0-200 then the bugatti which has 4 turbos might i add.....

Not only was it the less-powerful 2007 Ultimate Aero that broke the world record (there has since come out a 2009 with 100 more HP and other substantial upgrades), Bugatti has used the Volkswagen test track to post its top speed numbers.
Allow SSC to use the same track, and it is very likely that we'd see speeds closer to the 273mph proven stable by NASA in Langley, VA.

Theoretically speaking they claim the Ultimate Aero could easily break 257mph but they didn't have roads long enough to reach such speeds. For pure speed and overall sportiness the Aero wins hands down. For luxury and power go with the Veyron.

Actually it's 1001 BRAKE HP and 987 HP. An engine loses some horsepower when connected to the gearbox, alternator, differential, etc...that's why there are different horsepower terms, e.g. brake horsepower, indicated horsepower, shaft horsepower, and so on and so forth. Technically spino183 is right.

Well I can say that only the US buys American cars from travelling, I'm English and live in London, I've lived in Germany and Japan when I was in the forces. I went to University in the US though so I think I have a well rounded opinion. There's nothing new about the ssc it even looks like a diablo, the only people who have ever even heard of these american cars you're talking about are americans. There isn't one american car on sale in the UK today and the UK isn't alone.

The Veyron is a technical masterpiece with cutting edge technology incorporated into every aspect. Audi lose approximately $2m every car they sell. The ssc is just a huge tuned engine in a fibreglass shell. It's like comparing tournedos of fillet beef and a turd sandwich. The veyron is crap. The ssc defines a real performance car. Real drivers dont buy a fast car for leather and all kinds of other crap. Anybody can drive the veyron. The ssc is a drivers car. The fact is the ssc could have been built 30 years ago. There's nothing special about taking old technology and making it bigger. It amazes me that the same country that leads the way in certain high tech fields can fall so far behind when it comes to cars. Consider the fact that american made cars only sell in the US. Japanese and European cars sell all over the world.

your crazy, the veyron is what of the line. the only way the viper will beat the veyron is at a rolling start at about 80 mph. the veyron will go 0-125 in 7.3 seconds. and 0-150 in 8.5 seconds. viper to much torque and is a drag strip car. totally different league. and by the way the ssc has 1200 hp at the weels and weighs 2700 pounds. the ssc will inialate the veyron if it could hook up and shit on the viper.

The top speed record was broken on a PUBLIC highway in Washington State, and not on some fancy well-maintained race track. Not only was it the less-powerful 2007 Ultimate Aero that broke the world record (there has since come out a 2009 with 100 more HP and other substantial upgrades), Bugatti has used the Volkswagen test track to post its top speed numbers.
Allow SSC to use the same track, and it is very likely that we'd see speeds closer to the 273mph proven stable by NASA in Langley, VA.

273mph is never goin to happen.the aero would fall to pieces at anything beyond 260mph,,it nearly did fall apart just hitting 250..the aeros DEFFINATLY not worthy of taking the veyrons crown..it goes slightly quicker but what about the other stuff...it just beats it on speed n THATS IT..anyone can slam a tuned run of the mill v8 into a wedge of fibreglass and go fast..no one apart from big headed yanks are talkin about this lambo clone piece of wank..veyron still holds peoples attention...sorry

Theoretically speaking they claim the Ultimate Aero could easily break 257mph but they didn't have roads long enough to reach such speeds. For pure speed and overall sportiness the Aero wins hands down. For luxury and power go with the Veyron.
