  • if you live near illinois mine is for sale for 50 bucks.

  • @kunstssst il come by plane from croatia if u want to sell it for 50

  • Thank you for video, very inspiring soundscapes and intense livefeeling. :)

  • Underrated machine for sure. Just bought one and while it is tricky at first, it's a very dynamic sequencer.

  • I wish I would have bought the D2 rather than the hip hop oriented Akai Xr-20- truth be told I didn't know I was buying a rap machine. So now I plan to get the D2 and what's a good price to get one for?

  • Nice man

  • fom all your 1 videos, this is stilll your best upload :)

  • Great music!!

Watching this video, its clear that Korg copied the Roland D2 when they designed their Kaossilator.

    Roland should sue Korg.

  • 2:34 <--- that passage is a-w-e-s-o-m-e !

    very very nice job!

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!

    THiS IS SOOOOOOO PHAT!!!!!

I am listening REALLY LOUD!! Totally banging'!!!

MORE! more more more please!!! =)

Peace love and acid to you from Oedla

  • Loving this track

  • yea, its like watching an alien work station .... great for js,s and live performance

  • gooooood! i´m often surprised what a accomplished sound can hold out a single groovebox when the soundconstructor use the gear well. some more vids with the other gears would be nice :)

  • good vibe i love it!!!

  • Roland D2 was around many years before the Korg Kaossilator.. there is nothing new about the Kaossilator Pro..

even though its already 10 years old, the D2 still has the deeper features.

  • does the D2 have midi?

  • Of course.

MIDI has been around since 1983.

    D2 came out in 2000.

  • oh, ok. thanks for the info

  • That was savage!! Really enjoyed that.

  • savage??

  • MC-505

    MC-307

    D-2

    JX-305

    EG-101

    Groovegear all by Roland.

All have the same basic MC-505 engine based on JV,

but which is better, easier, more fun to perform with???

  • i'd say 307

  • excellent

  • Veeery Good! Like it!

  • uh very sick, I'm feelin that truckin bass and heavy swing.

  • I like it !!!

  • thanks for all the comments

  • nice job mate :D

  • wow nice! I cant even bang that out of my EMX :P

  • that's why i sold mine. cose it's pretty good at sequensing but the sounds are not realy the shit.

  • excellent, matey! on the strength of yr video i just got me a d2.

    cheers!

  • To any users of this machine , can you send me your msn adress in private , to exchange tips.

I bought this machine last week and i have some questions.

  • very nice techno, mate.

i'm thinking of the d2 or the mc-307 as live compliment to my yamaha rs7000...

i guess the main choice is do i want the d-beam of the d2 or the turntable pitch of the 307 to aid beatmatching?

    whatya reckon?

  • D2 is a very fat sounding sample based groovebox and the 307 is polyphonic. Depends on your needs, but a D2 can be picked up for less on ebay.

  • Amazing dude!

  • sweet !

    good job tweakin that sheeet

  • shit hot mate!

  • nice one

  • Very phat tunes.... realy good ;)

  • coooooool ! =)

  • Luv it. Awsome

  • wow

  • nice, there are very few vids of this on youtube.

  • Proving its the man not the machine, this machine gets such a bad rep.

  • He's more machine than man, now.

  • Phatt soundz mate!(y)

  • Nice!

  • EXTRA

  • nice acid

  • 2.34 - Great entry! really nice work!

  • NIce..proving its the man not the machine.

  • excellent jam session

  • Deep. 5* of goodness for you.

  • good track!

    peace

  • awesome!

  • great groove man u rock

  • thanks

  • @DaveTech2000 Whats that synth on the left

  • hmm ok, then its a good piece of equipment

  • That's not true mate, all sounds are off the d2 read his responses to comments posted.

  • real nice and sick ...luuuuuuuuuuuuuvit

  • great wark man ... keep on rocking

    deniz

  • NICE WORK!

  • i think the D2 was an answer from roland to the korg chaos-pad

  • I'd rather say, based on date of production, that the Korg Kaossilator is an answer to this.

  • so korg just copied the chaospad out of a groovebox with a chaospad...?

  • My comment was a reply to an older comment. But no, i'm not comparing this to kaosspads because there's nothing special about touchpads, the specific applications however is special - in that light i'm comparing this to the kaossilator, but not the kaosspads...

As this predates the kaossilator but works in much the same way, i'd claim that the kaossilator owes some heritage to this, concept-wise...

  • That Roland D2 has some pretty cool sounds!

  • hi

    thanx for sharing this.

how do you play notes on D2? do yuo need forcely a midi synth?

    cheers

  • very nice ;)

  • you're a beast

    I want your track man!

  • great

  • An excellent track man......Love it!!!

  • excellent, like the acid sounds. how are they made, it has no synth just built in samples right? looks like an interesting machine

  • Similar than mc 307, the 4 layer can be controled by mc 307 by using the Lcd of mc 307 and routing the midi to D2, at diferent channel midis.

    .

  • how do you put sounds on that thing, can you connect it to a pc?

  • This is not a sampler as the sounds are internal to the D2. The sounds, drum kits and sequencer are very similar to the Roland MC-505 just a bit more modern.

It can be connected to a PC/Mac via a midi interface and can then be programmed via your DAW e.g. Logic or Ableton. Although I know that this track is sequenced and created using only the D2.

  • i just bought a d2 :)

  • this shit is fucking cool. i want a DEE2

  • Great work man...

Alot of people complain about the D2.

I say, as artists we are only limited by our imaginations...

    Cheers from Chicago,

    RRKS

  • sounds very acid indeed.....very 303

  • Please make some more movies! Awsome!

  • Nice use of the D2 :)

Is it midi-hooked to other hardware? Some of the sounds don't seem to come from the D2 (drums, some synth, ...?)

  • cheers man . all the parts are off the d2

  • D2 - Very hands on, nice controls and new sounds

307 - Nice lcd screen and a few more sounds than D2.

MC505 - The original - has older and classic sounds, bass boost function and great control sections.

  • D2, 307 are both based on 505, but made later so improved functions.. which of these 3 do you recommend?

  • I've got to go back to the drawing board. Very tight piece of minimal techno. D2 is really gorgeous.

  • Those little rubber buttons feel so nice it is really tacktile machine...you think your gonna hate this orange plastic thing, but I love the feel of it.

Samples of some of the bass lack energy, but there are some really good things to it, it is a mc505 with some added sounds basically.

  • It's a mc505 in a orange box.

Is it true the software editor for the 505 only works with win 98.

I thought I got it working with my d2 but haven't used this machine in a while.

Nice work, I just find rolands seq on these things a bit hard to get into.

Very nice stuff though, thanks for subbing!

  • Well done! D2 seems a nice machine

  • Hey man, thanks for the invite! This is quality man...really nice beats...always good to have more live techno peeps on YouTube. And when that bassline drops...ooooft! It certainly put a smile on my face. ;)

The D2 looks great for hands on control, I've never actually even heard of it! Looking forward to hearing more from you man..looks very like a 909 on the right hand side of the screen there?!

  • Diggin the beats man. Glad you posted a video response to me. I guess you must have liked what I did.

I've never seen one of those, are the old or new? Expensive?

Did you watch my video? Did you like any of it?

    Cheers man

    Alan

    I rated 5 stars man

  • Best D2 video i've seen. Keep up the good work.

  • Really cool use of the D2 Groovebox and a nice and fat sound. Wicked stuff 5+
