Umm, no. Valve is too smart to sell out the franchise for a movie deal. That goes for any of they're other franchises as well. They are one of the few smart game developers left because of that reason. Selling something out for money is the last thing on they're mind, they just want to make a good product. As soon as the Hollywood fatcats get they're hands on it, it will be royally screwed.

Like in the orange portal it showed endless orange portals when it should have shown blue orange blue orange and so on...Also the woman's reflection at the blue portal was zoomed in a bit too much. I would absolutely love to see a Portal movie. Portal 2 had an extraordinary plot line. And the characters are just so well developed. And for a game that is amazingly hard to do. Imagine how good it would be if they made a movie! I think a movie revealing even more or going into more detail with Apertures past would be a good idea. I would LOVE to see this as a Portal movie! The only thing that I would've liked done different is the Portal gun. I would have liked it to be closer to the one in the game. But other then that, it was awesome! They would totally need to get Ellen Mclain for the voice acting for GLaDOS!
While it would make a great movie, I fail to see a interesting storyline. I would go for more of a half-life/portal approach, seeing Chell team up with half-life characters possibly seeking after the Borealis to find a way to destroy the combine.
The short is outstanding- for Portal fans like us. For an unitiated bigger audience, the Glados/Chell dynamic and motivation to escape would have to be there. This actress or the one from Outside Aperture would be great.

The reason everyone thinks GLaDOS needs to be in a movie, should they make a full-length one, is because there are TWO characters in the first game, and one of them doesn't even speak. It just doesn't have the same feel without the villian/best friend of Chell. GLaDOS provides 70% of the drama and plot for both games. A full-length Portal movie just wouldn't make sense without her. The short did, though.

If Portal becomes a film, it's going to need a lot more story packed into it to meet the 2-hour film mark, otherwise, we're just going to watch a chick go through test chamber after test chamber with hardly any plot. I don't know about a full length movie.A silent protagonist works well for both the game and the clip, but i cant see anyone trying it these days in a movie,Everything has to be hooked together via contrived plots. "Get portal gun and escape using awesomeness", is not likely going to be enough, and they will likely burden the movie with unneeded action, explosions, or a portal version of "Sam Witwicky".

And is that short good enough?? Really? Just look at, for example, Resident Evil-4. It was so full of shit but it was released. This on the other hand is is intelligent and well directed and everything. With the tripe that currently plays in theatres, Ex: The Darkest Day, I don't see how this could be any worse if it hit the big screen. It could actually be one of the first 'good' video game to big screen ports in the genere's history. Would love to see that.

Please make a movie but it MUST BE ABOUT CHELL AND HER BACKGROUND AND I HOPE SHE IS 17 OR 18, although the short is incredible, the actor is in her 30's and chell looks more like some one in her early twenties or late teens. It must have glados it it!

I would definitely like to see Portal as a movie. Not only would it be great for fans, but it has a very interesting story. Although, the original director should definitely direct this, if not he should have a major part in it.

Yes but where would you take it? The first portal was short and sweet, so was Portal: No Escape. Unless you can pull a Portal 2 I'd hesitate before making a feature length...

I don't know about a full length movie.A silent protagonist works well for both the game and the clip, but i cant see anyone trying it these days in a movie,Everything has to be hooked together via contrived plots. "Get portal gun and escape using awesomeness", is not likely going to be enough, and they will likely burden the movie with unneeded action, explosions, or a portal version of "Sam Witwicky".

And is that short good enough?? Really? Just look at, for example, Resident Evil-4. It was so full of shit but it was released. This on the other hand is is intelligent and well directed and everything. I am sure that with a bigger budget they would be able to create something that all the fans (and even those unaware of the game) would love to watch! Do It!!

I really want the portal movie to be on the big screen. the more hype for the portal games, the more hype a movie installment will be. plus i think money should also go to valve for making the game. so lets say a percentage of money made from the box office of the portal movie should go to valve for inspiration. after all its what we have all been waiting for!
