Where was the outrider(s) to grab the loose horse...announcer sounded like a French tool, not even mentioning the accident or the loose horses on the track....only in Canada
very luck banker bluechip was retired after this race....driver walked away completely un harmed, the horse only suffered a chipped rear hock but was retired regardless! they think it was the leather straps between the horses legs and the angle of the fall that saved his life! and i think its an excellent example that horses love to do what they do cause driver or not that horse was finishing the race, lol
frugal gourmet won by a head with probably trottin trevor ritchie aboard. Jate got his revenge in the north america cup by a head over frugal this same year i believe at greenwood.
I feel so bed for the horse that lost his driver and was still trying to finish the race and his empty harness got caught in the rail and he went over... he was just doing what he was trained to do...
Wow...do you know the outcome of those accidents? It was odd how the announcer never skipped a beat and didn't even comment on that flipped horse (or did he and I missed it?).
You're right, he continued to call the race as though all was well. That horse that flipped was Banker Blue Chip - he wasn't seriously injured and went on to race again soon after. Even knowing he wasn't hurt it's still hard to watch!

You no longer have hub rails. The race caller was lousy.
The fact that the crowd reacted and not him is a joke.
Is BLUE BONNET raceway still around?

I wouldnt exactly call Scarborough Downs a racetrack. The only decent driver to come out of that place was Case.

i live and race in maine, and we JUST got rid of the hubrail at Scarborough downs after a 50,000 dollar trotter hit it and died.

The damned hubrail! Hope they are gone forever.

Thats why the ill fated hub rail hopefully is gone everywhere. If you have ever "kissed it", it can be deadly.
