I´m actually happy to see an hungarian, enjoying Romanian music. You see, there is Cultural assimilationbetween Romanian and Hungarian who all should respect and love. Too bad, there are extremists on both sides that denying this.

I not only enjoy but systematically collect Electrecord LPs, 78rpms and CDs of Roumanian folk and gipsy music. I understand the stupid situation that for political reasons Roumanian gipsy music is still not present in Hungarian folk events. I think, despite being Hungarian, that this kind of music is the king of folk music.

@robisandor You didn't discover yet all the romanian folk music geniuses such as Vasile Pandelescu on accordion , Dumitru Farcas on taragot or Tony Iordache on cimbalo. Their music is a kind of magic !

Yay! I love that guy! Can anybody translate the poem? Or maybe just transcribe it...? BTW, the 'Lute' is a Cobza - Romanian metalstringed version of the oud. Only guy I'm able to identify other than Marin, is Nicolae Botgros - 1st violinist. The orchestra is called 'Orchestra Lautari' if I am not mistaken.

I'm not sure, but I guess that the cobza player is Pavel Turcanu... and you are right, it's 'Orchestra Lautarii din Chisinau'; unfortunately the orchestra don't have a cobza anymore... only a guitar

Am fost la acest concert care a avut loc la Palatul National din Chisinau in 1991. L-am urmarit cu lacrimi in ochi pe Marin Chisar si toti acesti ani asteptam sa-l revad. Iti multumesc frumos pentru aceasta secventa. Este cu adevarat un diamant al muzicii romanesti autentice. Din cate stiu instrumentele la care interpreteaza sunt confectionate tot de dansul.
