  • @1:42 "I don't need a book of Mad Libs! I've got one of my own"

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU PEE ON THE SIDE OF THE TOILET BOWL TO MAKE LESS NOISE

  • @TheSpiderHand It's polite. :)

  • @TheSpiderHand I dont, cause im loud and proud

  • @TheSpiderHand especially at night

  • Correct me if i'm wrong but am I the only one who is reminded of The Nightmare Before Christmas from 2:27 - 3:00 ?

  • @nseprino7 They certainly have a similar mood

  • a solid gold doubloon to the first man who can tell me what that chord progression is at the beginning.

  • @redrounin the chord progression is the diminished amazing'th in the key of awesome

  • @JoeyThe14th I'm holding out on the doubloon but there's a strawpenny in the mail for you.

  • @redrounin good enough for a poor ol' boy like me

  • They try to do math metal and then go over to a shitty version of opeth. This song was dissapointing.

  • the top comments are ust shiet wtf

  • Holy shit this is awful -.- Feel they rhythm of our drums? Really? And OP, please learn how to spell -.- Hah hah this is soooooo shit.

  • @TheModCon Yeah, the lyrics are pretty awful, and the vocals can turn obnoxious, but the instrumentation can't be denied.

Nathan Ells did pretty well on many on other songs though, just not this one. lol

  • @Zimx02 I'm denying the god awful instrumental as well. Seriously, heard this song many a time for other bands, just not with such terrible lyrics. If tremolo and sweep picking does it for you then cool. But seriously, there are pop bands with way more interesting instrumentals than this. The fact that this in odd time doesn't make it inherently interesting.

Whoever wrote this was scraping everything from the bottom of the barrel IMO

  • @TheModCon Hmm, well have you listened to any other of their songs? Nocturne and Crossing the Rubicon are bound to change your opinion.

  • @TheModCon Definitely agree. It's beyond me why so many reviewers are inclined to rate this band so highly. Seems like every melodic metal/melodic deathcore band has played this exact song.

  • @TheModCon i don't agree with you at all. example, the number twelve looks like you sucks ass. nasty band with no science behind it. friends of mine who are into 'grindcore' (not real grindcore like napalm death) defend it. music like that and all this deathcore bullshit have nothing to do with time signatures and stuff. just an excuse to play loud. i listen to these guys and hear beauty though. the way their music is written is genius. and they're not my favorite either

  • @TheModCon but we all have our own opinions and such

  • AJ Minette > you

  • THA deserves a lot more than what they got. They've been through a whole lot, and they're still going good. I didn't really like Midheaven, i guess it was just too much hype. It was sounding good from the previews, then when i actually listened to the entire album, it just lacked something important to the human abstract. Nathan was a good singer, but i did like Travis too, at least the studio recordings. Now Travis is gone, Ryan Devlin hopefully will stay with them. I saw them live... badass!

  • @Twixgtx He most likely won't since he has a own band named Corelia. If you don't know them already you should definitely check them out. Search for their song glass faces.

  • You recommend this album so highly, yet it is only worth one l in excellent? :( like when I type things that are awsome but not deemed to be good enough to be awesome! :D

  • Nocturne>Digital Veil>the sound of a unicorn dying>Midheaven

  • pretty good but not too keen on the melodic vocals

  • Just no matter how much I try their new albums just aren't as good as this one. I mean they're ok but it feels as if it lacks something.

  • @jimifriedman18 are they lacking brutality? think about where that came from

  • @flclalchemist156 No I don't like them for the brutality so that's not what they're missing for me. And I like midheaven alot more than digital veil. It's like the song builds up then loses it.

  • @jimifriedman18 I refer to the fact if u have seen Metalocalypse when Murderface and Toki aren't involved in the song writing process in one episode. lol

And well i see then. This about the only song I like by them/

  • Thank you. Super!

  • digital veil>nocturne>midheaven

  • @rockntroopen IMO it goes- Nocturne> Midheaven>>>>>>>>>Poop> Digital Veil. Sorry, just my opinion. Nathan made this band for me.

  • @COBfan43 ur a fool. How could a singer make a band completely based on technical instruments. poser

  • @mtrev009 Look whos high and mighty. Calling someone a poser on the internet. Nathan is one of the most original singers I've ever heard and he makes this band something else because of his distinct voice. Agreed, The Human Abstract is a very technical band and a very different band, mostly stemming from A.J.'s supremely classical guitar training but that in no way, shape, or form makes The Human Abstract a band 'completely based on technical instruments'.

  • @COBfan43 This is true, Nathan pumped so much energy into songs like Crossing the Rubicon, Mea Culpa, and Nocture, but at the same time, he fucked songs like this one up for me.

  • Fuck Yeah

  • Not diggin the constant scream. What album should I buy that has the least amount of that?

  • @wolfboy12321 Midheaven has the least amount of screaming, an inconsiderable amount. But midheaven is differs a LOT from the other two albums, it's much more prog and experimentally orientated, beyond metal. There's a chance you're gonna hate it. Or love it.

  • @FranLesPaul midheaven lacks aj minette, and honestly this band becomes mediocre without him.

  • @EEEDDDIIITTT Yeah, but he gave up on metal altogether during that time to pursue his classical studies or whatever. But listen to This World Is A Tomb and A Dead World at Sunrise, those are masterpieces, don't you think?

  • @EEEDDDIIITTT Perception seems to be so different because the new album with aj minette and travis richter sounds so much more like the usual metalcore stuff. It is just lacking nathan ells uniqueness. And I think you would be further confused if they changed their style according to the wishes of minette because they said the following: "changing the sound would have been like a smack in the face to all those that had been coming out and supporting the shows."

  • @Nacaer i'd honestly listen to anything aj puts out, disregarding genre completely. he's a fucking incredible musician.

  • @wolfboy12321 Anything by Celine Dion XD

  • i like bananas

  • I can't read any of the lyrics. Use a different color, dipshit.

  • @IdieinBh It's not all about you, dumbfuck.

  • @IdieinBh lolololololol

  • Zelda at the end?

  • im going to see them in march with darkest hour and this or the apocalypse :D

  • @locomonkey94 LUCKY!!!

  • the transition around 3:00 sounds really random

  • this song was so metal that my computer crashed and exploded 5secs into the song

  • @mechaninja1 Then how sir may i ask are you posting?

  • ah man this band is nice ive been looking for something like this

  • thumbs up for my videos?

  • Comment removed

  • what the hell does he say between "You'll hear the darkest voice say..." and "bow before, crawl beneath.." It's always bothered me that the band never clarified that. Even on their official lyrics, it skips that little part. I'm wondering if maybe he says something in Latin, the only reason i think this is cuz of the song "Mea Culpa" but again, i don't know. ANYONE ELSE HAVE AN IDEA ABOUT WHAT HE SAYS.

  • @Twixgtx Nevermind your soul searches.

  • this song just blew my fucking mind

  • i dont need a bold commandment, i've got one of my own: STAND ALONE. this, mah niggas, is TROOF. B[

  • @peopleinRED haha troof :) cool word!

  • si le ponen su chinga a darkest hour

  • L2 Edit

  • Reminds me more of SikTh

  • They bring protest the hero to my mind. ANd in some parts the guitars remind me to "Speed metal symphony" by cacophony. Great band

  • These guys sound to be playing the same scale progression that Between the Buried and Me plays in Colors.

  • @keepingtheblade99 The actually list Between the Buried and Me as one of their major influences, it is not surprising that some of the stuff sounds similar.

  • ok im saying this cause im fed up with all the comments about their new album sucking and this one being godly. It is obvious that this album is in fact much better then the new one, HOWEVER that doesnt mean the new one sucks. I LOVE the new album and i LOVE this one, their both extremly amazingly excellent. If you honestly think the new one sucks, try making music thats better?

  • aj minette is back! i'm expecting this kind of riffs in their new album!

  • i like this album way better than their new one.

  • @horseridinggrl54 their singer blew out his voice and they got a new guitarist between their first cd and their second...so a lot of things changed.

  • Who in the fuck said Akerfeldts Voice is a JOKE?? hes should be killed immediately what a fuckign idiot.....

  • love the antiestablishment-'esque' lyrics. seems like these guys draw a slightly more intellectual crowd eh?

  • internet fights are retarded everyone has their own opinion and if you dont enjoy this music simply don't comment it makes everything a lot simpler

  • @mcspaddin everyone has their right to share their opinion, unless it's trolling i'm fine with criticism! and also people have the right to criticize others opinions, we have that right so people don't get arrested over protesting their government, so i find it retarded when things like freedom of speech are brought up on the internet!

  • articanova, learn how to spell you dick fuck

  • fuck you

  • @ArticaNova good spelling

  • @sellme15 I think he spelled that FUCK YOU just perfectly!

  • @sellme15 your a faggot

  • @sellme15 stfu.

  • @sellme15 omg a nagger ! XD

  • Shouldnt it be "searching, seeking, forward thinking"

  • @TheChampster , no this song is actually titled harbinger on the original album.... i dont think there even was a song titled like that.

  • @mcspaddin I was talking about the lyrics...not the song title :P

  • This song is a fucking monster that's invading my ears and conquering my mind!! AND I FUCKING LOVE IT!!

  • the intro reminds me a lot of something in flames would do. pretty cool song.

  • PTH, THA, BTBAM = EPIC-core

  • @Carlito148 If you like those bands and other bands of the sort, check out these: I, Omega (formerly The Syncope Threshold), Within the Ruins, Painted in Exile. This isn't spam. Just tryin' to spread around some good bands. :)

  • @joeytiago i already know I, Omega. theyre pretty good. you should check out Allergen. thats some good shit there

  • who cares about genres?

  • lol. "Rwaaaaarrrrrrrrrr" XD

  • Can someone tell me:

-What is this type of music

-What is the music word for "multiple guitars that rock" :)

    Thanks for your time

  • metal

  • @gravitygun3 metal

  • at the beginning i feel like im listening to Metallica

  • Sucks that they're not the same like this.

  • i agree, midheaven wasnt bad but without aj its not epic

and on their next album, the singer is gone so they wont have the same feel to it

they need both of them :P

  • i forgot how much i liked them

they got the vocals that sound like a metalcore band but still the guitars are awesome

  • no cuz i have the cd thats not on it

  • btw, does anyone else at 3:49 hear "LET's WATCH BABYLON 5!"?

  • @kamikaz1k i think its lets watch babylon fall

  • @kamikaz1k

LMFAO MY FRIEND SAID THAT, I was like, Dude you watch too much star trek!

  • none of the below suggestions are mathcore -_-

all of them however are progressive/tech metal, and pure pwnage. (r.i.p. sikTh)

    @YouGotSubbed...yuh man, its only you....

  • protest the hero. today i caught the plague

, born of osiris' first album

  • yea man

  • between the buried and me is a other good mathcore band

  • And SikTh

  • Progressive Death Metal*

  • @usedangel000 this is NOT progressive death metal. this is like, progressive awesome screamo. prog death is like the faceless and veil of maya...

  • @Coasterpimp123 Or, y'know, Opeth.

  • Thats progdeathcore. Which is still crap. Prog death is like Sadist, Athiest, Sons Of Aurelias, Hacride..

  • @DamageInc0rparat3d

Some good progdeathcore: Born of Osiris, Veil of Maya, All Shall Perish, After the Burial, and The Faceless, if you consider them deathcore. :P

  • Deathcore is the bane of humanity. No amount of genre melding will change that fact.

  • @DamageInc0rparat3d

Wow. Okay, well, you're an ignorant fuck. That's my cue to stop talking to you...

  • Hardly, reviewing new CD's is a passtime for me. I encounter a lot of deathcore and its pure diahroea. So, you're actually the ignorant person for being prejudice in the first place. Just think about that.

  • @DamageInc0rparat3d

Oh, well, if reviewing CDs is a "past-time" for you, then I guess that means your opinion is right and mine is wrong, right?

  • Probably. But the issue here is, if you dont care about me or what I say, is there really any point in telling me about the numerous attempts of pidgeonholing you can think of? Like, give it up man, just accept that not everyone likes your terrible terrible music.

  • @DamageInc0rparat3d

No, how about YOU shut the fuck up and accept the fact that everyone likes different music. And if I like some music you don't, that doesn't, in any way, make me "wrong". You're a fucking asshole.

  • Hey, so says the butthurt little upstart who contradicts himself at every comment. You want respect different peoples opinions? then respect mine and take it like a man. If you are one, of course..

  • @DamageInc0rparat3d

There is no "right" and "wrong" in music. And when retards like you think there is, that's not even an opinion. That's just a false statement. I'm not arguing with you because I disagree with your "opinion", I'm arguing with you because you're fucking wrong.

  • @DamageInc0rparat3d Your a fucking idiot, haha arguing when your wrong, because you refuse to lose in an "Internet skirmish". That makes you look like an idiot.

  • check out my THA Covers!

  • they take there roots from the same type of music these guys are alot heavier and technical in there style though [ im not dissing a7x i <3them}

    RIP REV

  • @YouGotSubbed its just you aX7 sucks :P

THA is a one of a kind band(well this album had sum great songs)

  • sum is that supposed to be a pun?

  • AJ...come back!!

  • He is gonna co-write and co-produce the new album wooooot!

  • HELL YEAH :D

  • wait wats pth stand for

  • protest the hero

  • PROTEST THE HERO

  • @JackMacPhail Is an awful band with a singer who is a huge flamer. You don't have to thank me for finishing everyone else's thought.

  • @pyroburnturhousedown You're unintelligent.

  • @JackMacPhail YEAH BROTHER! I pin them together all the time. lol So good.

  • @JackMacPhail they suck

  • @rockntroopen u suck dick. this is real music

  • @slipknotm1 hey dude u might misunderstood me. i didnt say that the human abstract suck they rule. i replied to someone who liked protest the hero cuz they are the ones who suck.

  • @rockntroopen protest the hero owns ur mother

  • @rockntroopen u suck

  • I love tha's guitar solos but they need to cut down on them a BIT. pth doesn't have as many and I find their songs more coherent then these. Still love em both though

  • Don't hate what you don't have the kill to play. Haha

  • I love how everybody compares protest with human abstract. I don't disagree really, but dunno PTH is definitely something different and also. These guys are just dece. Polaris is great

  • I like them both quite a bit, but for some reason I like THA better...not sure why.

  • PTH songs are harder to play for me than THA songs, haha

  • I agree with Mr Reverence. Although my mind is blown by both bands, PTH have the edge over THA.

  • Cool this is worth a second or maybe even third listen

  • Its awesome that AJ will help on the new album, but i`m scared about Nathans leaving. I just hope they don`t get a shitty singer.

  • PPL, AJ will be helping to write their new album!!!!!!

    and wait theres more....

Nathan is out of the band1!!!!!!

    about time!!!!

  • yes i know!!!!! omgomgomg

  • dude im so stocked, idnt think ive been this excited over a bands announcement before...

  • What are the lyrics at 2:38? They aren't displayed on the video, and mysteriously, they can't be found elsewhere online. It seems to be "Never-minding soul searches."

  • nevermind your soul searches

  • Yeah, that seems to be it! Thanks.

  • great guitarists

  • talented version of august burns red?...dude august rapes everything ever made

  • this band is like a talented version of august burns red

  • @i4smoke2dank0 no this band is The Human Abstract an amazing band. August Burns Red is August Burns Red. Another amazing Band. this band is just more technical with their instruments

  • Cool song

  • The Human Abstract is almost perfection...honestly, this album is in my top 5 favourite albums...it's so amazing...

  • @liliumsnovels667 what's your number one?

  • hmm im versatile when it comes to music, I suppose. My genres of metal are all over. My favourite band is Dream Theater. #2 is Nightwish, and 3 is Children Of Bodom. What are yours?

  • 1.the human abstract(old and new)

    2.protest the hero(fortress)

  • thats awesome! btw, love your name muaythai :P

  • 1. Protest the Hero (Fortress, Kezia)

    2. The Human Abstract

  • my good sir, are you implying that you like protest the hero more than the human abstract?

  • why that i am. though the guitar is more complicated in The Human Abstract, I like how Protest's song structures and singing more.

  • im in complete agreement with all of that, but i love complicated guitar(im a guitarist, you see) thats why i favor the human abstract. and rody kicks the mess out of nathan hands down, thats not even fair

  • I'm also a fan of complicated guitar, but if I want complicated guitar parts I often listen to technical death metal. When it comes to progressive metal, I like it when everything is complicated, not just one thing.

  • Sorry, forgot to add that I'm also a guitarist. I've played some Human Abstract... way harder than PTH, can't even play it. But I can play Protest pretty well.

  • damn man his screams are sucking more n more i listen, it sounds like he tries to hard, like he couldnt find his own rhythm n just goes along with the riff, " their a band ass", well a good vocalist can make em stand out, kinda like a good drummer can do the same, not just play along with each chugga the guitar makes, "its cause there progressive" well tommy does his own thing, rody too... damn they could of had someone better, his lyrics arent that good either...

  • dude at 3:32 He tell u He Stand Alone
