@LA5898 So you think they had time to ask her her medical history ? You idiot. That liquid is glucose. It is the only thing that will revive her. The Nurse did what had to be done. They told her she had low blood sugar. When a person passes out and starts having seizures you dont have time to screw around with c-spine and paramedics. The only way to fix is give her that tube of glucose. Only thing that was pathetic was the response from her so called friends just before she passed out.

Also, the contestants go through extremely extensive testing INCLUDING a physical exam before the show begins so its not necessary for the nurse to ask an (unresponsive, btw) patient for her medical history. I'm sure before her shift began she was well informed.
This girl Amanda is absolutely Beautiful and seems like a real sweetheart. I have Hypoglycemia very bad / Although Ive seen worse she did take it very well.. And to know that she has this then I dont feel so friggin alone. It would be nice to have an attractive woman next to me as we both know we share the same serious problem. @AngelBabe2233 Hypoglycemia is when the glucose in your blood becomes too low to support body fucntions. Glucose is the gas that runs our body. The brain uses 60% of it. Normal range is from 80 to abou 125 or so. When you start getting into the 40's and 30's its close to lights out. Ive hit 30 and it like the grim reaper standing over you sucking your soul out. ONLy way to overcome it is to eat sugar right away. But to make sure it dont happen again one needs to eat right and eat often.

Her fall around 1:32 looked fake. I think it was real but I talked to an RN who loves Big Brother and she said she was out of it when she got the milk. It is partially Amanda's fault because she could have put sugar (as Natalie said) in the slop. I was more scared about Alison.
Wow, I'm shocked that BB didn't act faster when she initially was feeling weak. In BBUK she would have been called to the diary room and given the correct food for her condition, even if she was limited to slop, they shouldn't have let her get like that.

If she didn't get the glucose the nurse was giving her she would be even worse. Hypoglycemia is nothing to mess around with. Symptons are long and a few of the symptoms include: Stupor, coma, abnormal breathing, generalized or focal seizures.
oh my that was kinda hard to watch. i broke down crying knowing thats what my cousin goes through practily on a daily bases and to see someon in pain and them to keep rolling cameras just to keep the ratings up is just EVIL. they should have cut it off and then returned after the whole ordeal was over
This is Big Brother. They know what they signed up for. If anything you should be happy because this does raise awareness for hypoglycemic people. I don't know what you mean by "they should have cut it off..." because the cut off the live feeds almost as soon as Amanda fainted. I think it was good thing for the public to see.

The sugar packet for hypoglycemics are called Glucose Gel. You put it under the persons tongue and it gets into their blood stream.
