  • right on

  • Que buena música!!!!!!!!! gran época lo 80s

  • great song

  • Oh, Starship. Fly me away on your criminally underappreciated music.

  • 1989.. loved this song!

  • Good song! I remember buying the cassette single of this at the end of summer 1989, right before 9th grade.

  • Starship sold over 100 million albums worldwide, they toured all over the world, they began as Jefferson Airplane and later became Jefferson Starship and in the end they became known as Starship, they are real music artists that sang real music, this is one of the greatest songs in music history, this is real music, this song was a big top 40 hit on the Billboard chart s here in the United States that become an even bigger top 10 hit worldwide, they are great music artists, this is a great song

  • THE right choice dude!

  • This song honestly makes me wish I grew up in the '80s, I was born in 1992. I hate today's music and really the only music I listen to is stuff that came out in the '70s and '80s.

  • @4RM0 It truly was an indelibly great decade, and Starship's one band that continually takes me back to my youth! As a Gen-Xer, I commend U on your good taste ;)

  • How in the world did music go from this to what we have now?!?!?! Where did we go wrong?!?!

  • unos de los mejores gruos de los 80!!la edad dorada del pop!!

  • Starship's last top hit?

  • LP RCA VICTOR ?

  • evil stereo - healing touch

  • good ol days why thee 80s ever hadf to go...........

  • Very g00d

  • Damn...I was born in the wrong era :(

  • @devildancer1495 I was a Very early 80's baby. Thanks to MTV in the 80's, now I'm hooked on this song for life!!!

Remember my cool cousin blasting this on his stereo over at my uncles house.

  • hermosa cancion¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • ohh que hermosa cancion.¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • I was born in 1990 and i am so sorry that i have missed all this songs ...all the 80's ... damn.

  • @GermanStel ...you still have time to discover and appreciate !...

  • i loved starship, i loved 80 years

  • muy buena mierda de cnaion me subscribi*****

  • Great tune , I wish they would play this live

  • I can't stop coming back to listen to this! I have great memories associated with this song. Thanks for uploading :-)

  • almost hit the top 10 but stalled at #12 in early fall of 1989 .....sort of reminds me of Richard Marx "Angelia" which was out about the same time this song was on the chart...anyway a great lost hit...thanks for posting

  • Everyone on here search up a song called ''Bottoms Up'' by Trey Songz and then you explain to me why I'm a 21 year old who likes 80s music.

  • @PopCulture20 Inever heard that particular song by Trey Songz but I have heard "Say Ahh" which to me has no appeal at all. Obiviously your a 21 year old who appreciates really GOOD pop music .I was 21 in 1983 so I pretty much went through the 80s in my 20s and I wouldnt trade that for ANYTHING.And by the way, the 70s were great too!

  • @chrisporter61 Yep you nailed it!!!! lol ''Bottoms Up'' is the new single off Trey Songz upcoming album and I just wanted you to see how degenerating music has become which is why I always turn to the older stuff from the 70s, 80s, & 90s just to get a fulfillment and some inspiration.

  • do you guys know a song that is like im not man or machine but a lil somethin inbetween

  • @31skinnyman 'Lovin' Every Minute of It' by Loverboy

  • Man how the time flies...late 80s were great but no way this was over 20 years ago...

  • Thank GOD I was a teenager in the 80's. You just had to be there.

  • @tannerjahe2 I know, it was the best times for music, clothes...people actually cared how they looked, not like now with the slum wear. Oh those were the days!

  • @tannerjahe2 Likewise. I was in 8th grade when that song came out.

  • @tannerjahe2 I envy you. I was just a kid in the 80s so I really did not get to really appreciate it. I wish I was born in the late 60s instead of 77.

  • @RetroJenny I agree. I was born in 82 and remember my cousins always playing their music. I grew up listening to the 80's and I hate how I've missed out on so much. I prefer this music over the music today.

  • love this song it's great :)

  • @oilk99 if you like this try, outfield "voices of babylon." also 1989. very addictive song like this one but a small notch above, don't miss it...

  • @oilk99

  • Im 40 this is my kinda music when I want it. Remember came out thanks for it the fall of 89.

  • An absolute classic.

  • Hit #10 rock, #12 pop, #30 AC in Billboard. God bless!

  • super faina piesa asta!place mult

  • This sounds like a song that Heart would make cos of the great chorus, plus I cant imagine Ann Wilson singing this

  • @CavemanJesus4Life Correction I mean I "CAN" imagine Ann Wilson singing this song

  • @CavemanJesus4Life "This sounds like a song that Heart would make"

It's interesting that you would say that cuz it was written by one of my fav singer/songwriters - Martin Page. He wrote songs for many popular artists: EWF (Magnetic), Heart (These Dreams), Go West (King of Wishful Thinking/Faithful), Paul Young (Right About Now) & Starship's biggest hit "We Built This City". He also had his own big hit song back in 1994 with "In the House of Stone and Light". Pretty talented guy.

  • @vodude I forgot that it was written by Martin Page, thanks for reminding me

  • definitely the fall of 1989....

  • The beat reminded me off something Bryan Adams would have.

  • @dancemusic04 come to think of it....'"Thought I Died And Gone To Heaven" might be the song you're thinking of which was a top 10 hit for Bryan Adams in the summer of 1992

  • Too bad Grace Slick felt that she was too old to rock. Mickey's voice just doesn't cut it. Hit #12 in Billboard. God bless!

  • @DaveWollenberg No, she didn't left Starship because she was too old. She left to join some of the original members of Jefferson Airplane that at the time (late 80's) had reunited for a tour.

  • One of my favourites songs together with Hysteria (Deff Leppard), The best in music comes from the 80s. Nowadays music does not exist anymore

  • I have to agree with you buddy! It used to to be you could listen to a song and it would NEVER get old. Now after one listening it's garbage!!! What happened???

  • @Ficozzy This album was actually produced by Mutt Lange who is the same producer that worked with Def Lepard in the 80's. There's even a song on this album written by Lange that sounds very much like something off of Hysteria called "I Didn't Mean to Stay All Night". When I first heard the harmony vocals I almost thought Def Lepard were doing them but it was all Starship. Terrific album though. Too bad it was their last one cuz they were still on fire creatively during this time.

  • @Ficozzy anyone you ask now they don't know about this stuff when this is the music

  • @Ficozzy Youre 110 percent right

  • @Ficozzy +1

  • @Ficozzy -agree! love this song!

  • One of the best songs of starship but was substantially underated. I bought this CD only becuase of this song as well.

  • @Joey042065 Absolutely true. Very underrated tune. Love the harmony. I bought the cd for this song alone also! I sense a trend.

  • @garbobbage Is the rest of the album as good as this?

  • such a great song! man i wish music was this great today....sadly it isn't

  • I was hoping for a Johnny Thunders cover, imagine my disappointment!

  • @vegetasrevenge No, I can not...LOL

  • yeah, me too, brought the album because of this song--love it!

  • One of my favs.

  • Wow, Mickey sure sold his soul to the Devil. It makes sense too because a few years ago he showed up on a Sammy Hagar album; another guy who's soul belongs to Old Scratch.

  • Shipmate1936, very cute. What I mean is if you listen to those Elvin Bishop records on which Mickey sang, he was inspired and inspiring and made genuine music regardless of its pop appeal. Starship on teh other hand is the opposite of that; saccharin, contrived and aimed only at appealing to the average 19 year old. I'm not a Mickey hater, in fact I'm a big fan but let's get down to brass tacks and call it like it is. This is schlock.

  • Thanks--

  • zapwatt,

LMFAO. . .Old Scratch, that's a new one for me, hahaha.

  • Magic!

  • Starship is awesome, that's all there is to say.

  • Wow, I haven't heard this album in a million...

Thanks for posting. "The Burn" is FREAKIN' SWEET too.

  • You guys said it! Songs like this are actual MUSIC, not corporate crap. Real talent, not $99 Casio keyboards spewing out 4-measure loops for 3-4 minutes. These are real ballads-real songs. Most of today's singer's couldn't carry Mickey Thomas' lunchbox. Nice tune! No Way Out is great too.

  • I disagree

  • Now tell me what great timeless rock songs are being made by today's corporations--er, I mean, bands lol :P. There's a reason everyone keeps coming back to these great songs and the quality Metal/Rock of the late 70's/80's.

    UP THE IRONS!

  • nice song love that

  • I couldn't agree more. To be honest I prefer Mickey's voice to Grace's, and yes - I love No Way Out too!

  • great!!

  • An Amazing Song befitting an amazing vocalist Mickey Thomas.

  • great song this old stuff is hard to come by on itunes its no where to be found, this subscriber is the man, keep jefferson starship alive.

  • This album (and all of the other late-period Jefferson Starship and Starship albums) are now on iTunes! I was shocked to discover this myself.

  • one of starships best tune! done my robert mutt lange (mr former shania twain) - he did another one on that album! best 80s!!!

  • Great song of STARSHIP

  • its so good...so 80`s...

  • a good tune, not played enough.

  • One of my alltime favorites!

  • GREAT tune. Starship is underappreciated. Another great tune is No Way Out! Classic - If you like this song, Starship's Jane and No Way Out are phenom

  • its cool to see someone else knows the song "no way out"your right its one of their best along with this one.

  • damn good song!!

  • kickass song!! starship rock my sox off!!!

  • To solesirching73:

You beat me to that Def Leppard remark !

I wonder if Def Leppard was offered the song, but turned it down. To me, if you listen to the beginning and ending of the song, it sounds like "Hysteria" gone reverse.

  • que pedazo de tema por dios si habre bajado bombachas loco aguante starship y jefferson airplane

  • i love this song so what ever happend to starship please bring them back!!

  • awesome

  • Excellent Song, I have this on CD and thank you for sharing this :).

  • One of the best songs EVER !! Thanks for sharing!

  • This song has that Def Leppard touch - well, no wonder, Mutt Lange produced the song - LOL

  • Did Mutt Lange also do Whitesnake's Is This Love because the beginning of this song and that song always sounded alike for some reason.

  • the year i got married

  • i love this song the gutiar is dangerous in this song

  • this song rocks

  • this sounds so much like winger

  • God,I love this song! I heard it on the radio back in 94 for the first time and hooked instantly! Sara will always be a favorite but of course this song takes the cake!

  • Great song.

  • I remember in summer 1989 turning the volume up on the loud guitars on the verses and choruses in the song when it played on the radio! Good and loud! Still do to this day. Didn't know until years later that Mike Shipley produced it. It made me respect Shipley more as a producer along with being a mixer on many of the Mutt Lange productions for Def Leppard's albums. And his later mixing for artists like Enrique Iglesias, Faith Hill, Andrew WK, and more current bands.

  • I think this the best song they ever made.

  • my favorite!

  • mind too

  • Beautiful. Symphonic. Exciting.

  • Very very good song, almost as good as SARA

  • Love the guitar in the beginning! One of the best songs ever! Reminds me of the past...ALL GOOD!!!

  • LOVE the guitar in the beginning, one of the songs ever!!! Reminds me of the past...ALL GOOD!

  • It's not enough to tell me you love me...

  • great song... i think it came out in 1991 but i could be wrong.......

  • You are. It was 89.

  • Thank you for posting this. This was mine and my first boyfriend's song we used to sing together. *LOL* Good times.

  • america the best music ever we hope now with obama not only

  • Sorry, B. Hussein Obama is a product of the awful 2000's. Which is one of the worst decades ever. George Idiot Bush is another scourge in a decade that's given us the worst music ever.

This song is from 1989. Obomba and any other political scum of this day and age has nothing to do with it.

  • hey, you can't make fun of the greatest person ever. I mean, Godbama is going to make the world a perfect place. Na, really, just kidding, I'll give him a chance, but people act like he's the second coming. I agree, though, this song is from a MUCH MUCH better time.

  • AWESOME band best album i've heard for a long time, and I know about Saints and Sinners, Danger Danger, Zinatra, vongroove etc...

  • Love this album, it was superb.

    Great memories.

  • Beautiful Song

  • This is amazing! It doesnt remind me anything of 80's cause i didnt exist :) But its FANTASTIC!

  • Good song, have NOT heard it in ages.

  • Great Song one of my personal favorite song by this band besides Good Heart Skyfox23

  • Definitely one of Starship's better songs. Reminds me of when I was an Army reservist. (I discovered the song later in life).

Will we hold on to tomorrow
