Are those FURIKAKI delicious? I always see them at ranch/asian supermarket. Different kinds. I'm tempted to try one but afraid that it won't taste good. Which ones are good? Thanks for the vid, I'm gonna try one. I had this before at a LL hawaiian bbq restaurant.
HO...... It's amazing how you wen "time" da demonstration to match EXACTLY how long da song wen last!!!! How you wen do dat?! I jus' TRIP!! ....Ok, now I gotta go make wen Spam-musabi cuz I stay HUNGRY now! Mahalo fo da demonstration.... I know how already, but wuz fun fo' watch someone else make dem!! Try making 100 of dem for wen fundraiser!! You know how hod wuz for make 100 and not eat ONE damn Spam-musabi 'cuz goin' get cracks from my mom for "Eating all da fricken' profits!!" Lol !!:P
@mz1nnocent ~ The secret is to get da dbl musubi maker! Dat way no need cut da nori in half, but you gotta cut da "double" spam-musubi in half. Theoretically (hybolical word, yah?), it cuts da production time in half!! Or if you look at it another way, you can make double da amount of spam musubi :) More fo' share wit your friends, and mo fo' eat!! Ho... I stay hungry again..... Gotta go cook rice now fo' make Spam musubi!!! :P
Perfect! Hands down the best Musubi Video on the web!! (Great tune also!)
I discovered Spam Musubi in a little place in Chicago last month and loved it!
Picked up the ingredients at the store yesterday, and until my musubi mold comes from Amazon.com in a few weeks, I'll be using the Free-Mold that comes with every can of Spam!
@booshveg my mom was cooking before me so it had a few leftover vegetable oil and i didn't want to waste. i usually don't cook it with oil..just like you said, the spam itself will release oil
I miss hawaii so much, I was only there for three years, and moved I haven't had musubi since and it's so annoying even the restaurant up the street from me called hula hands doesn't have it......Thanks for the recipe though I can now make it at home.
@14louix14 well...i bought my musubi mold here in Hawaii in our local drug store in the section where they sell kitchen stuff...or you could try looking at an Asian store/market or try looking on ebay .
I'm sorry but that is not the proper way to make the musubi from the islands. The spam should be in the middle not at the end! Anyone from the islands knows that. What kine dat?
I'm so glad my Hawaiian friends in college introduced me to Spam Musubi. I make them two or three times a year for special occasions...and they always disappear.
I was hoping for you singing or a voice over. You are one of my favorite singing channels. I like the cooking show too. What is the wrap? seaweed? Spam is indeed an adventurous choice.
Hello. Great video! Where did you get your spam molding?

you dont have to use oil
spam will release some oil while heating so just put it in the pan without oil
just try once , you will like it more

I was thinking: for a little added flavor, instead of using water for the press (top part,) try using sesame oil.
