If you want change, stop paying income taxes, buy as much as you can online to avoid sales taxes (you may pay shipping, but it goes productively into the economy). Look at the products you consume with the highest taxes (telephone, cigarettes, etc) and switch to something else (voip, ecigs)... STARVE THE BEAST.
I tend to agree with Netmasta here. Simply doing nothing doesn't send a message to anybody; it's effectively doing nothing. Both literally and metaphorically. If you're going to protest taxes, don't pay them. If you're going to protest civil liberties, go picket. Just staying at home is (ironically) a waste of time and money.
